I went back and watched it three times and it really looks to me like I can see a hit in the dirt almost exactly between the two targets. I definitely do not see any target movement. Are you sure you aren't looking at video of the shot before which was not caught on the primary camera?
@@seanbreheny9777 It's a target impact. Usually on the 1k and 1.1k gong you'll see the target splash onto the left or right legs like that (with a center left/right hit). If it were a splash on the ground it would not be along the entire leg. That's likely a center right impact, because if it were a far right impact you'll see it move a lot more. If it were a miss, the splash would be much smaller, impacts spread the splash out the entire height of the leg with a right side deflection.

The AW changed the tactics of the Taliban during the fighting in Helmand. They suddenly found them self unable to approach within 1000 meters of British sangars and OPs with out instantly taking casualties. The first of these rifles came to us in the late 80's around '88 if I remember rightly. I know we'd got them in time for the first Gulf War. They were a complete game changer at the time and we were still using them in 2003 in Iraq. The Schmitt and Bender scopes were incredibly accurate too and I cannot imagine not using the two together. Got a lot of fond memories of the original L96a1. Unfortunately, like most kit that finds its way into the hands of a British squaddie, it was the lowest priced selection at the trials to replace the L42a1 so it “won”. You should be glad that you had 10x power for the long shots too. We had to make do with a fixed 6x42 S&B.
It was a bit different to 'cheapest available'. The story is quite complicated and involved people basically putting their careers on the line. You do those individuals a big disservice by repeating that tired old trope. I suggest watching this from Forgotten Weapons, which covers how the L96 was, when it appeared, revolutionary. ruclips.net/video/e0IvoKwvEbs/видео.html Now, as for the scope, that I can't comment on in detail. However time has passed and what was possible scope-wise in terms of clarity and robustness in 1985 was very different to today. Currently the current standard sniper equipment, the L115A4, uses the UK's third (IIRC) iteration of a S&B 5-25×56 scope. Working inside the science and technology part of MOD since 1986 all I can say is that, whilst cost comes into it, a lot more factors than 'the cheapest' comes into things. After all 'the cheapest' would have been just to keep L42s soldiering on in various levels of decrepitude and uselessness until the current day. OTOH every pound spent on one thing means a pound less spent on another thing - frustrating but true. And no we are not perfect, not by a long shot.

I connected more often than not once dialed in at a 6x8” swinger at 600 yards, using a range buddy’s accuracy international 6.5CM. Journal says, “98° zero wind, air feels stagnant.” Very very high-quality rifle and perfect trigger. Now I’ll start the video to hear your impressions.
Oh, the frustration of as_tundra (sorry, that was until CS 1.5, not 1.6) where you couldn't buy the AWP if you played as special forces, you had to find one dropped by the opposing side.
I recently was looking at a Lever Action by Henry that uses a magazine instead of a traditional tube to feed the gun, and with a 6 locking bolt I would imagine it has very similar accuracy to a bolt gun, and my first thought was to come over to y'alls channel and ask y'all to do a practical accuracy video of it. It's the Henry Long Ranger in .308 or 30-06 whichever you prefer. EDIT: It's also in 6.5 now as well so I would expect it to put out some serious competition.
You just convinced me that my money would be better spent on training and putting more rounds through my 700 ADL before I buy that TRG-42 I have been window shopping.

Definitley nice to see your holds on screen as you shoot..Great video
The sound in this video was great!
I love this video so much! The start is perfect. Reminded me of those late summer nights in high school, haha.
Lol the intro was gold. Brings back so many CS 1.6 memories. Those were the good ole days...
These guys even talk about the doc. Thanks for the video guys really good
Usually i just watch and dont comment - but damn that intro gave me flashbacks. Did not expect that type of gaming humor but really appreciate it.
You can clearly see the vapor trail of the bullet. That's awesome
Love ur intro song man...just sounds so epic and never dies.
I love the subtle meme-yness of you guys. Brilliant channel and videos!
Great video and very informative I’ve always been curious about the AE rifle.
You’ve discovered something adding the DOPE to the video.
I connected more often than not once dialed in at a 6x8” swinger at 600 yards, using a range buddy’s accuracy international 6.5CM. Journal says, “98° zero wind, air feels stagnant.”
Very very high-quality rifle and perfect trigger. Now I’ll start the video to hear your impressions.
Technical and personal interpretation was excellent.
thank you for showing your holds. it helps me a lot.
Most beautiful yet simple rile ever made ❤
An exceptional rifle with a great shooter, very enjoyable to watch.
I CANNOT wait for the ZFK-55 video. That's my all time grail rifle.
Your channel deserves a million subscribers
Guys...found you only recently. Enjoying the hell out of your work. Thank you and keep it up. Test a Grendel!
Sweet work with that US Optics scope.
BUY ME AWP I'LL PICK MID
Oh, the frustration of as_tundra (sorry, that was until CS 1.5, not 1.6) where you couldn't buy the AWP if you played as special forces, you had to find one dropped by the opposing side.
@@Hydrazine1000 I can actually buy a FAMAS on T side, but this is because I am a Silver Elite Master and my dad works for valve.
@@StoliTheWise *Attention RUclips users, Bullshit has been called*
@@abrb1223 Allegedly.
This intro always gets me hyped😍❤️
You used the actual audio clip from CS1 of the AWP firing... Respect. Respect.
these videos keep getting better
I recently was looking at a Lever Action by Henry that uses a magazine instead of a traditional tube to feed the gun, and with a 6 locking bolt I would imagine it has very similar accuracy to a bolt gun, and my first thought was to come over to y'alls channel and ask y'all to do a practical accuracy video of it. It's the Henry Long Ranger in .308 or 30-06 whichever you prefer.
EDIT: It's also in 6.5 now as well so I would expect it to put out some serious competition.
I instantly clicked the like button as soon as I started to hear the CS intro! lol! :D
You just convinced me that my money would be better spent on training and putting more rounds through my 700 ADL before I buy that TRG-42 I have been window shopping.
Nice video, you guys help people shoot from a more informed mentality.
Thanks David! It's been a long (but interesting) journey that we are still on to learn about shooting!
@@9HoleReviews Me much longer than you, fired my first rifle in 1959, still practicing and hopefully learning.
0:28 Seeing Rooftop Actual made my day.
I love the mentioning of Ian @ ForgottenWeapons, Karl @InRangeTV and Slavik at the beginning of the vid!!!
You sir, you know what you are doing. Thanks for showing. 🇳🇱👍🏻🇺🇲
It would be nice if you test the SAKO TRG 42 (338LM)
sometimes you don't see rifles on the show for a long time because i actually want to buy one. the TRG is one.
@@9HoleReviews with a good steiner M7Xi 4-28x56 😎

I'll take a SWFA 10 fixed, for 300 Alex.
@@9HoleReviews, pretty please!
I would like to see you out the TRG 22 up to 1100 yards.
And if you can a Steyr SSG 69 as well that would be awesome.
