- This story was written by Aetius. It was created to give backstory to the Nazgûl in the mod - Divide and Conquer (A Lord of the Rings mod for Medieval II Total War).
This story is of Balak'nar, a man of Far Harad who falls to Sauron after forming the greatest Empire in the south of Middle-earth.

Yes, this is a VERY good story, proper of a Nazghul. A king whose power rises, becomes so arrogant and brutal, that even his own men abandon him. Mad form the fall of his power, he denounces his own men and falls easy prey to Sauron, thus becoming a Ringwraith.Bloodshed, only bloodshed! But after it, when your concience strikes, the hits are equally as powerful as those that you gave... until you fall to the shadow. Well done to Aetius, prefect story of a powerful but arrogant seeker for power. Cheers to all, looking forward for the first campaigns of version 4 and Galu's gameplays. The beginning reminds me of Alexander the Great! It’s a great story, and the delivery was excellent!

I didn't try v4 yet but I hope Nazgûl have appropriate ancillaries(as in armors and weapons) according to their back story. That would be quite cool!
You don't get the new Nazgul or really very many as Mordor until later in game. As for Dol Guldor you get three of them.

@@mckee7789 Through ModDB - but I advise that you give the instructional video a watch. It's one of the recent uploads on Arachir's channel, and it will explain all the nitty gritty of getting the mod to run smoothly.
One thing to note: If in doubt, make sure that the download happens without any other programs running. It helps ensure the files (which are rather large and cumbersome) are not corrupted!

These stories really do a great job of capturing the trickery and deceit of Sauron. We never hear from Tolkien how Sauron deceived everyone, these stories make his guile clear.

Excellent story. Hoping that each Nazgul has some distinguishing ancillaries or traits in game. Maybe a few units of their people that come with them when they spawn in. (Balak'nar spawns with some haradrim units in his army for instance) Just to add some flavor to the Mordor orc swarms.

Does anyone know how to create a custom settlement for the campaign map? (Not a battle map). I made my own for Cameth Brin, Dol Amroth, Nargroth and Seregost, but I don't know how to assign them to a specific settlement in the files.
I’ve never had problems with Osgiliath before, but in the new update the game is glitched/crashes the game every time if you try to sally out against the enemy with a supporting force on the other side of Osgiliath to the enemy. This is for West Osgiliath, not sure the same thing with East Osgiliath.
The nazgul stories dont pop up in V4., fix please.

Beautifully read. Poor,foolish Barak'nar.... the one thing that alarmed me was the image he was shown by Sauron. Resplended in gold as King of Kings. My first question would be: I see myself in gold. But I am a king; what about my people? I see nothing other than myself but, what about my people. I won't take your ring.

I highly doubt if you had a vision of yourself being ‘Lord of All’ the first question is “Well how are the people?” As well as one may consider that even if they aren’t shown, you can obviously still rule the people the way you’d like. Why would this Ring restrict that?
@@JTB_1020 to hide the suffering you'll cause by assuming that the people will do your bidding no matter how you rule. Kings rule to protect their lands and guard the people. The ring shows dominion-not rule. For it is uncontested, singular and selfish. You would take the ring, then? You can doubt me all you like but even after 2 years, I'd still question the gift of absolute dominion without knowing how the dominated fare under it.
Not Sauron no! Sauron did not call himself 'Sauron'. It was a name given to him as an insult by the elves. He called himself tar-mairon, king admirable
He didn't call himself Sauron in this story either.
@ Balak'nar called him Sauron at the end which seems weird to me. It seemed as if the new knowledge came from Sauron, so you would expect the new nazgul to call Sauron by one of his preferred names.
@ I am aware, just frustrated about that final bit:"Command me my lord Sauron." Personally would not like people calling me 'Bad breath'
