The Hobbits inventing golf is probably my favorite hobbit trivia.

I would very much like to have witnessed the Brandybucks on their defensive strategy:
"Those damnable intruders! Such perturbance should be countered by the mightiest cultivation of land that our nature allows: A great hedge!"

"the films that we have all seen....or at least many of us have"
.....mate, I don't think that anybody watching your channel haven't seen the films.

the shire always seemed like an awesome place to live. Gives you that good summer chill vibe all the time. That is until some crazy adventurous hobbit brings back a magic ring which culminates in an ancient wizard trying to conquer it but I digress.

I still can't fully understand how Middle-earth feels just as real as our world. The Shire is to me unmistakenly home. Peter Jackson brought to life a land of magic that I was blessed to grow up with. Tolkien invited me to delve into something more than just the nature of bravery, love, cowardice, and courage. He stirred in me a desire to respect and manifest the beauty and peace of the world we now live in. These are times of fear, pain, and resentment towards each other, ourselves, the world itself even. Sometimes it is best to keep close to those you love and remember that "Courage is found in unlikely places."

So to stop the Balrog, Gandalf could've simply conjured up a hedge.

Now that I'm thinking about it, of all of the LOTR lore channels I've come across, very few have gone into this much depth about the Barrow Wights or the Barrow-downs. Hoping you'll try that one sometime. The more morbid parts of Middle Earth are incredibly interesting.

Did anybody else notice the irony that a majority of the citizens of Michel Delving live in houses? Michel Delving.....houses are built above ground. It seems to me that this type of irony serves to only to make these tlaes more realistic.

Almost all of them are by Ted Nasmith and John Howe. You can simply google 'the Shire'.

    Great content as always!
Unrelated question: I am really having trouble in V4 DAC with very slow turns - starting from turns 50-60 - up to 8 min!
Is there anyway to speed it up? (V3 was faster on my system)

Reinstall everything (including med2) from scratch. Make sure you have given full permission to med2 or, much much better idea, move steam out of the program files 86 folder (that removes all of windows stupid security checks on the game.

No, it's Sharkû. In "the black tongue" it means old man. Orc language. Sharkey is just the anglicized version of the name.

Is the Shire Part of Arthedain and Cardolan? 🤔

    • @MALWylie
      @MALWylie 4 года назад

Bit of a late reply, but to answer, Aragorn granted independence to the Shire in his reign. Before then, if that is what you mean, it was part of Arthedain.

LOL my culture is similar in terms of housing where the house will be upgraded as the sons/daughters get married or alternatively the older brothers/sisters will live somewhere with their significant others with the youngest living with their parents where he/she would automatically inherit the house. ofc this is just in general there might be variations or others that dont practice it entirely.
