Bruce is the savior of this story, because he is always nice to Redline. The yeen needs more Bruces, Buckys and Draydens and less Ryans and Coles. There is something a clever in the fact that Zander can learn to be a better person from the guy who he thinks of as dangerous and a bully. Bruce is just trying to make the best of this bad situation. The dino is a essentially the ideal of what Zander wants to become: the best, strong, confident, socially aware.
While the scene with Redline is rough, it is rough in a good way. Besides the well written fights, this is one of the best written scenes so far in the novel. Its messy, painful and you can feel that. This scene shows that this author can deliver on scenes they set for themselves.
Not sure how much of the story is left beyond this moment, but this likely should be the moment where Zander starts displaying character growth. Bruce is trying to make peace (as much as there can be when they still have to fight each other), Redline is revealed to be in a bad way, while Bucky and Drayden let Zander in on what is going on with his kind of friend as well as the dangers of their sport. This should be the turning point to start showing progress, but the times skips and the fights with Bruce don't let the narrative build the momentum. The fights are well written, so you can see that the author thought about each encounter, but they're like an obstacle for the rest of their story.
It feels like the "easy" solution would be to just show some scenes to shorten the skips, but that is a lot of extra writing. Plus the fights with Bruce are supposed to be a stressor for Zander, so you can't just skip over them. Another problem is that there isn't any stakes to the fights and the reward is that the deer might get to stop fighting Bruce. Zander's situation is mostly the same, losing doesn't make it worse and winning would just keep him in a place that is just increasingly described as terrible. There is the threat that the deer might have to fight someone that wants to hurt him, unlike Bruce, but so far it is just a threat.
Don't have a good idea how or what could be done with the situation, because it is complicated. Only thought is too much of a change, but make this more like gladiators and less mma. That Zander can only lose so many times before Bruce is either expected to kill him, or the Commissioner would. It essentially puts an additional clock looming over Zander that would maybe put more stress on focusing on the parts between the fights because each leads Zander closer to his end.

It is kind of rough for the narrative that they do a large time skip after that pretty well done and impactful moment with redline, but I think it works out alright later.

Not only is Zander completely tone deaf to other people's circumstance, he's completely unaware that this js his job. And it's Bruce's job. And Bruce is in the same sort of situation he is. The poor dino is doing his part of the job.🤦

I like this beach music, it's silly.
Bruce called it with Zander. It's hard though to let new people close to you if you've been left or hurt. That kind of self preservation is all too familiar. Oh no 😟, poor Redline. I hate to see him break like that.

It's interesting what different people notice.
Immediately upon hearing the name i guessed the correct situation and didn't dwell on it. Same with Other random tidbits that are mentioned like Zander watching Bruce's fights. And Him knowing about the contract.
Just.... interesting is the word ig
Very awkward start next episode is gonna be😢

The art for this VN is good, but I don't think I can stay invested in the story.

Yeah, this VN is in need of an editor as the plot holes (giggitty) are starting to interfere with a comsice story and the time skips don't help. But it's still a cut above many others.

Honestly, I think discrediting Bruce is what FANG is _trying_ to do here! (And Zander is playing into it because he's just that oblivious and spiteful...)
They force him to fight an obviously unmatched opponent over and over, either turning him into a hate sink for the audience as he causes more and more serious injuries to Zander for no audience payoff, or making him obviously throw a fight he had no chance of losing legitimately. Either way, they can probably get rid of him, eventually. The question is, why do they WANT to get rid of him? Is he just 'too good', or is there some other reason?

Yall get hung up on the strangest shit. The whole Alex/Zander thing coming up AGAIN is wild and I would argue that it has more to do with kieth and bird personality, and how they processes and understand information rather than having to do with the actual way this VN is written.

I watch your videos a lot as background noise, and overall I enjoy them, but wow do you overanalyze trans themes into them quite often. It has come up a surprising number of times where you will predict a trans subplot where it seems pretty obvious that it isn't the case. This isn't a bad thing exactly, but again it seems to come up a surprising amount in these videos. I only mention it because of the half hour analysis in this episode.

It's all about only men wrestling. It was more or less specifically stated it wasn't about being trans.
