It was not appropriate for Gayle to ask Oprah to address the feud rumors without the presence of Taraji. Nor was it the moment to do so. This is messy because it’s a mess. Now, with that being said, it’s not Fantasia’s or Danielle’s place to speak for Oprah or for Taraji as it’s not their fight. This is why situations blow up and aren’t resolved because the people involved aren’t given the proper space to address it. In fact, it doesn’t need to be televised at all so my question is what are the motives behind the question? If they are celebrating the film then why put a stain on that moment? Allow things to work themselves out between those involved and then there is no mess nor will there be a highly publicized feud.🦋
Thank you!! This was Fantasia and Danielle’s moment to celebrate their work and their nominations. It was not Oprah’s time to “clear the air” and pressure them to take sides and defend her position. Inappropriate!

Fantasia and Danielle was not obligated to say one word. They should have seen the trap Oprah and Gayle was setting them up for. It was a tasteless interview, lead on by Oprah. This was in my opinion Oprah's way of covering herself from all the ugly publicity this situation had thrown toward her name. The saddest part about it all is, unfortunately, there is an extra layer of negativity surrounding this movie that didn't have to be there. If one does one's research, you'll come to understand that Oprah isn't the one writing the checks because this wasn't a self-funded project. She didn't even have to come out of her pocket on anything but she did because it goes to show how much the project as a whole means to her. The WB is responsible. However, a lie, not from Taraji, will spread quicker than the truth. Pay inequality has been an issue from the beginning of time. They've only recently started rewarding people of color their due respect. Studios don't necessarily think people of color will bring in the masses. As a person of color, I've watched movies made by all. Cast by all. However, when I ask some of my friends that don't share my hue about movies containing black people as leads, they have no idea what I'm talking about. So the disparity is real. WE watched whatever was on tv at the time and it wasn't usually us. So that's what needs to be changed and educated.
Please stop bashing Oprah because it's easier to pick up the lie and run and tell that. Not everything in this world is her fault. Let's take accountability for our own actions and do better and stop the negativity.

This looks like damage control. Was this really the time and place to be bringing this all back up? It seemed like everyone is now ganging up on Taraji and used this opportunity to clear the air for themselves and dismiss Taraji's complaints. That catty comment from Fantasia and that face she pulled at the end was quite telling 🫨 0:47. She may not have had an issue with the rental cars, but Taraji did have a legitimate concern. It would have been more gracious not to comment at all, but then she is looking out for her own interests concerning future opportunities and contracts, so she obviously wanted to let Oprah & Co. know that Taraji's issues have nothing to do with her. At least Danielle tried to remain neutral.

Her family got to eat so I understand why she agree to these contracts but at the same time if I know what this person is worth I will bend over backwards for them and make sure she is paid what she's worth. I find myself pondering the rationale behind Warner Brothers' decision-makers opting not to provide the principal cast of this $100 million production with the customary amenities of transportation to and from the set, catering services, and their own trailers. These accommodations are typically considered standard in the realm of studio films. Oprah is not associated with the studio and should never have been placed in a situation where she had to request these accommodations. To compound the issue, she even offered to cover the costs for these amenities, which is truly astonishing.
Plus the movie is already fizzling out at $55 million. That won't even cover the Marketing budget for this Box office Bomb but Taraji is complaining about her pay.

Yes but Taraji spoke up about money while she was promoting a movie, in which Oprah is a producer so really it did make it seem like she had a problem with what Oprah had offered her. It wasn’t the best timing, just my take.

Sadly, this drama is going to override the hard work that went into it and may cost future award nominations. A great movie sabatoged unnecessarily and future studios will consider what happened while the movie was supposed to be being promoted. No one will want to put up millions if it is possibly going to be lost. Also, think about all the actors in this movie who haven't said anything. Some also big stars. They worked hard, also. Warner Brothers was responsible and the actors teams were responsible for a lot of what Oprah had to fight for. Finally, ironically, there is a producer behind Oprah, if I am not wrong. Three men and her. Fair. No, it is not. Also, this drama popped up after the Golden Globe nomination. Reminds me of another person constantly being asked about the drama rather than their work that led to their nomination.
I love fantasia, but I think Oprah is right about the studio. She created an entity that can operate outside of her control kinda of and so Oprah can't just say, taraji getting 5 million, fantasia getting this so and so that. I don't think Oprah has all the power. She has tons of employees and all kinds of things she deals with. Having trailers, and food and cars should not be something that had to be negotiated. Fact is Hollywood is so used to treating black ppl this way where they just throw scraps and we are supposed to take it.
