Personally I don’t think she ever danced the black swan. She was lying on the floor in her dressing room the whole time dying right after she stabbed “Lily.”
This movie wins on so many levels. The remixing of the original swan lake, the dancing, and that majestic ending. No wonder she won the Oscar. Although that split toe nail scene still gets me every time
The final act. Your final dance! You've tasted your dream. Touched it! Only to have it crushed. Your heart is broken. Wounded! Your life force fading. The blood drips. The black swan stole your love! There is only one way to end the pain. You're not fearful, but filled with acceptance! And you look down at Rothbart and then at the Prince. And then yes, and the audience! And then you jump! Go ahead, jump! You'll be fine. Jump!
PERFECTION. Look at the way she dances, graceful, elegent, full of emotion and sorrow. She PERFECTED it. She didn't just do it, she PERFECTED the final dance!
princepeterwolf Black Swan broke the boundaries of what has ever been seen and done on film. Sadly, the academy couldn't get past the psychological horror aspect, so gave it to The King's Speech, a movie that has and will be done a million times again. Nothing ever has or ever will be like Black Swan. Brilliant film.
Not only did Black Swan lose but so did Inception and The Social Network. In a year of great films, they go with the one choice no one wanted, expected, or cared for
Even if Clint Mansell arranged Tchaikovsky's music, and incorporated his own ideas, the credit needs to go to Tchaikovsky first and foremost, and then Clint Mansell. So writing, "Black Swan original score by Clint Mansell - Track 15. Perfection," is in form criminal to the brilliant Tchaikovsky. In the same way, whenever any choreographer adds their own ideas to a classical ballet that already has set choreography the original choreographer is always credited.
yep it's basically like tracing art and adding your own but you still HAVE to mention the original singer no matter what or else it's stealing, but ofcourse, "tchaikovsky isn't there to sue him" so it makes it apparently easy to snatch and smack his name on it...
Well do you say « I Will Always Love You by Dolly Parton (arrangement Whitney Houston) » cause it’s a cover or just « I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston » ? People come to this video for this version, so Clint Mansell. It’s not like they stole the music, we know the music is from an old ass classic ballet
This is actually one of my favorite renditions of the finale to swan lake, i feel like it’s set to the perfect tempo for this piece. Swan lake has some of the best music ever written, if you like this movies soundtrack, do yourself a favor and listen to all 3 something hours of music from the original swan lake ballet, it’s definitely a must listen.
I would like to relate this music to a person's life. The struggle, the pain, the lows, the highs one goes through. And at the end, it's all peaceful and tranquil as you leave. Nothing matters anymore....
I never thought I would be listening to this type of music but here I am replaying this one song after watching the movie over and over, watching the movie while also studying film is so much better than I ever would've thought
I aspire to be a writer and I love listening to instrumental music when I'm writing. Every time I listen to this I cry and must stop to appreciate the beauty of this masterpiece.
I know how you feel. Truly distracting sometimes, but it's such an addicting habit I can't seem to stop! Especially when music like this is constantly attacking my ears with such a melody...
@SpaceGhost's wife dood all of this is just a rework of Tchaikovsky. Saying such is completely disregarding that this is still pretty much all his work.
I felt afraid at the beginning, joyful at the end .. I got goosebumps than the first second. And that's why I am going to add this on my music playlist.
the irony of the track named “Perfection” being, in fact, a deliberately imperfect recreation of Tchaikovsky, with two altered notes at 3:10 and two skipped notes at 3:30
Как много душ затронул этот фильм,хотя все забыли ,что самое главное здесь это музыка нашего великого с гордостью,русского Петра Чайковского!!!без него не было бы никаких ваших Даренов с Портман!

You're absolutely right dude.
mmmm the most powerful I would say!
@Cherlock McFly Eraserhead was a weird movie, but more weirder than Black Swan, like disturbingly weird.

According to the director, she didn't die.
3:22 The transition in the film but in the music it’s so delicate and impactful PERFECT
At the beginning it sounds like a soundtrack in one of the rocky movies
I get goosebumps just thinking about this movie. It's incredibly well made and one of the best movies I've ever seen.

The scene where she pulls the skin next to her fingernail makes me squeal😂
I get goosebumps just by remembering that scene 😂😂
We can’t live without art. This is the ultimate proof.
What kills me is that a lot of people don't seem to realize this is Tchaikovsky, as if they're giving Clint Mansell all the credit
Za Gabi Not all I know it is Tchaikovsky :)
Yup hahaha cheers to you :))
please dont die!!😢
+Za Gabi People are kinda dumb in that regard. It doesn't exist until they hear it.
+Za Gabi oh com'on a piece like this is obviously not made by a man from the 21 century

Ivonne Matamoros Castillo Really? What role did you dance?

“It was perfect” - nina sayers (The black Swan)
This movie is incredible! 🌹
Tchaikovsi's classical masterpiece at its finest. It gives me goosebumps hearing this piece.
In the end, I don’t think she dies. IMO, the innocent Nina inside dies, and the more mature Nina is born
Yeah it might be a metaphor for letting go of her childlike self.
I agree.
Agree. So does Portman, it's her own theory as well.
The director of this movie said that Nina doesn't die, but her inner black swan does
WAIT... HOLD ON
If the composer wasn't given visions while composing this masterpiece, I don't know who ever is.
