This will replace the Asus 360 LC as I had to RMA it due to pump failure after 4 months of use. Cheers and thanks for your detailed install video @The Provoked Prawn. 👍👍👍
Finally someone who mounts the AIO correctly to the top bracket as indicated on the case instructions. In every other build video I’ve watched the builder has mounted the radiator and fans on the wrong side of the mounting bracket. The issue may be that the case is shipped with the top mounting bracket in the ‘fans only’ orientation, but to install an AIO you have to flip the mounting bracket upside down to the ‘AIO’ orientation. This is shown on the case instructions but it’s not super clear. I think most builders simply put the bracket back in the same orientation as when they removed it. If you do this the fans then sit too low in the case and can interfere with the motherboard and rear fan. The top mounting bracket is designed to accommodate the additional thickness of the AIO’s radiator by having an ‘AIO’ orientation that is different from the ‘fans only’ orientation. It’s a clever design element but very few builders seem to get it.

Why can't they put ram sticks just a smidge further away - you can see that the hoses basically force stick 1/2 right into each other, certainly not ideal for their heat dissipation. That said, I ended up doing something similar with a large BeQuiet air cooler than basically nudged two ram sticks closer together as well. If the ram sticks on mobo's were even 1/2 a cm farther away builds would be so much easier.
Do you have to connect the fans directly to the radiator part or can you put the metal bracket in between the fans and the radiator? My old nzxt liquid cooling had the metal bracket in between and I did that this time with my kraken z63 but with everything connected correctly it says that it can’t detect the fans, I’m wondering if the metal bracket in between is causing that issue or if it’s just my bios acting up and not detecting or if my fans are just faulty.

Are there any solutions?! Or do I have to just connect everything to the motherboard. I researched online and other people had the same issue they say the smart device doesn’t like to function correctly . Or it may just be something we’re doing wrong. Thank you so much!
Quick question as you stated that you like the CPU and GPU graphics setting on the lcd, is yours in real-time or is there a 3-5 second delay on the readout, I installed the z73 yesterday and it’s great but the cpu readout is not real-time as my motherboard has a temperature display as well, it just seems to be refreshing every 3-5 seconds on the kraken Do you know of any settings in the cam software for refresh timings?
There are many temperature readings within the computer. Is there a chance yours are reading different ones? I’d recommend downloading HW Monitor and seeing which temps align with each piece of hardware.
Did you find out a way to power the extra RGB fan that you have installed in the back of the case? I just finished the install on mine and can’t figure out how to power all 4 rgb fans. I have the same case and fan setup as you.
The final in and out cable needs to connect to the RGB (marked NZXT) cable on the pump. I.e. it goes fan to fan to fan to pump. In and out from one to the next
@@TheProvokedPrawn thx for the quick reply, that was indeed missing. added the out cable to the last fan & connected it to the pump cable labeled 'nzxt'. after reboot still no lights, fans are not showing up in nzxt cam either. Only the lcd display is showing up in cam.
I bought the z63 rgb white. I installed and plugged in everything. However, there's one 4 pin cable left from the pump and one long separate in-and-out rgb cable. I don't know where to plug them and the fans don't display rgb.
When I plug my fan into my mother bored it works but only one will work but when I try to put all 3 in the connectors it doesn’t work but my pump works and I see the display and everything

everything plugged in fans work aio gauge lights up and works in nzxt app but no rgb in my fans
any tips
Hi, if you have :
- Li Fans
- Li Strimer
- Z73 RGB
For two ARGB headers, how can you deal with that?
Just stick to USB.
So what was figured out about the 12 Gen Intel? I’m building a computer right now and want to get this but if I can’t get a bracket not good. :)
Hi is it possible to daisy chain the rgb from the AIO fans to the rear exhaust fan?
Im using the kraken z73 rgb 360mm and AER 2 RGB for the rear exhaust
I know this is late but is this cooler overkill for the 5600x I have currently? Love the doomguy gif btw :)
Not at all. Do it.
I think I got everything to work but the RGB lighting strip and the 3 fans pre installed in front of my case. The one fan in the back was not working either but I plugged that directly into my motherboard and that worked correctly. But When I powered on my pc again the 3 fans in the front of the case and the RGB strip doesn’t turn on. It looks as everything is connected correctly I’m not sure. Did you run into this problem? Are there any solutions?! Or do I have to just connect everything to the motherboard. I researched online and other people had the same issue they say the smart device doesn’t like to function correctly . Or it may just be something we’re doing wrong. Thank you so much!
this is the same problem that i have and i still haven’t figured out what was wrong…
You could add the link for you gif the doom guy. Regards
It's from Giphy. Just search there.
Quick question as you stated that you like the CPU and GPU graphics setting on the lcd, is yours in real-time or is there a 3-5 second delay on the readout, I installed the z73 yesterday and it’s great but the cpu readout is not real-time as my motherboard has a temperature display as well, it just seems to be refreshing every 3-5 seconds on the kraken
Do you know of any settings in the cam software for refresh timings?
There are many temperature readings within the computer. Is there a chance yours are reading different ones? I’d recommend downloading HW Monitor and seeing which temps align with each piece of hardware.
Did you find out a way to power the extra RGB fan that you have installed in the back of the case? I just finished the install on mine and can’t figure out how to power all 4 rgb fans. I have the same case and fan setup as you.
I think I did but I can't remember how. (Unless I covered it in the case video?) It's a pain. Sorry.
Would you happen to know where to buy spare screws?
Radiator screws you can get from Amazon like this amzn.to/3Cp32HF
is this the same pump as the original black z73?
Why not daisy chain the fans? :)
Connected all and rgb and fans are working, mi only problem is that the rgb is not syncing to the others
Nice video but does the z73 work with h510 elite
I don't think it will fit. You'd need the Z63 instead.
Do u know cases that fit z73?
Can I ask what else is different from the X73 to the Z73 apart from the screen on the pump thanks
That is all as far as I know.
Can you control de rgb on the radiator fans without the controller or using a cooler master controller which is the one i own?
I wouldn't think so
i have a question, how do u change the fans LED on the z73 rgb? NZXT CAM doesnt seem to have an option to do that
It should do if you've plugged everything in correctly
can i use this on a ASUS Prime X670-P motherboard?
connected it the way you did it and the fans are not lighting up. spinning but not lighting up..
The four pin cable goes to CPU fan or aio pump on motherboard, the in out cables goes from the fan to the RGB connection on the pump
@@TheProvokedPrawn Got it. Thanks. Now my fans got RGB again.
@@TheProvokedPrawn When i plug the 4 pin into the aio pump header , it says cpu fan error when starting the pc..
@@Alpiak hey just got the same problem, did you resolve it?
@@paupedros5228 i turned it to ignore cpu fan in the bios. There are yt vids for this
When I plug my fan into my mother bored it works but only one will work but when I try to put all 3 in the connectors it doesn’t work but my pump works and I see the display and everything
how does the rgb fans plug in i didnt see you plug that in.
Into the RGB cable on the pump head
So I don't need to put thermal paste on the CPU when connecting the cooler?
No, it's pre-applied.
Hey great build! Unfortunately my cooler doesn’t get recognised by cam so I can’t customise my screen 😭 (kraken z53)
maybe a faulty usb connection on the internal header?
Quick question for you can I hot swap this new rad with my X73 cable wise? I'd like to avoid having to redo all my cable management if possible. Not using the included fans either just swapping my QL's over.
probably not
where does the rgb nzxt connection go? i don’t see it in the video
Yeah, I failed there. Sorry. The final in/out cable on the fan goes to that cable on the pump head.
Newbie can 3 140mm fans fit on it on aio cooler nzxt
Hey, great review! I just bought the Z 53 and hooked it up, my PC won’t boot and instantly shuts off. Three little blue squares on the kraken screen. Any advice?
That could be so many things. All your power cables are connected? The fan connector from the pump to the motherboard?
I have the same problem 😭 idk what to do
Mine flickers the 3 little squares and then shuts off
@@TheProvokedPrawn turned out to be a dud! Bad pump. Got a new one’
@@johanacastro4829 after massive amounts of research and Internet scouring, talking to NZXT customer support , I can confirmed that that is usually the sign of a dead pump. If you contact them they should be able to get you a replacement for free. Or contact your seller.
Nice
so, where's the liquid for this liquid cooling radiator
Inside it? It's all in one. Ready to go.
@@TheProvokedPrawn really, that's freaking awesome.
I'm building my first computer, and I was going for the next kraken z73, so that's why I watched the video and asked the question.
Thanks btw, it was a great and helpful video.
@@MinisterRoy205 yeah all systems like this are self contained for easy installation. No need to fill it yourself. 👍
