I have seen your house and it’s bigger than most of the one bedroom houses for sale in the new developments in Jamaica. Well done keep pushing you’re almost there.
It's not always cheaper to build... It can be more expensive to build. Most persons who build their houses never finish. When you buy houses you buy a finish house. The advantage with building is that you can cut corners and negotiate or do the work yourself

I hope to maybe use the contractor to get me the plan and foundations, then hand over to a head mason and manage the build once a of twice a year when I’m on site. Close the site when I leave. I’ve been robbed over 300k already and don’t have a paper or block to shoe for it. 😡😡

There are reputable project management companies that can build your house for you while you are away based on contractual agreements.
Hi Shurrae. Thanks for kind words. It was the architect that took my deposit and didn’t do the work. He run away. I’ve found a new architect in london living close to me who designs for people in Jamaica as well. He took on the project and we’re now at the submission phase. He works with an engineer in Kingston. The engineer will submit on my behalf as I’m overseas. He an I traveled together last December to look at the project. We’re finalizing the final draft now so hopefully soon will submit. It’s been a stress. The real stress nuh start yet😱. I intend to only build for 6 weeks at a time when I’m onsite then close the site down for a year while I make up money each time.

This is a good estimate. I built my 1 bedroom house during covid an it cost me 10 million with a verandah,back patio and an additional bathroom.
That included grilling the windows plus I have a basement storage area.

Jamaican construction is easy to do. You should be able to do the foundation and all the masonry work yourself. Anybody can do it.
