If this match was "once of the best" Nadal would have recovered from the 3rd set tiebreaker and forced a fifth set. He failed to do so because he was thoroughly outplayed by an opponent who would not be denied. I think once Nadal lost the 3rd set tiebreak, he gave up.

I suspect that you are placing this match up as "one of the best" because it was Djokovic vs Nadal. If it was two other players in a Slam semifinal, you would not be saying that this was "one of the best". Sure, there was a lot at stake, but there always is a lot at stake at the Slams.
Did people anticipate what a young Federer would become when he vanquished Sampras in five sets in the 2001 Wimbledon? Maybe...maybe not, but it was clearly "one of the best" Slam matches ever.
Can I ask you, would you put this Djokovic/Nadal match, which was a French semi, over the Courier/Agassi 1991 final in Paris? That one was 3-6, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 with Courier prevailing over the heavily favored Andre.

I can't believe its 2021 and there is still a debate if Djokovic is the best tennis player. He's passed every feat and displays excellence time and time again. This match, if it hasn't already been said, is the turning point of his career. He is so close to the top 2 legends and he is that close to beating them both in not only GS titles, but in every stat you can think of. It's a shame people don't give Djoker the credit he deserves because he clearly works hard to be here and win these matches. If anything, its his mentality that is above all players. The crowd is always against him, but he doesn't care. He fights and overcomes. That is greatness.

Speaking as an RF fan, I have to say: huge respect for the unyielding mental strength, the relentless defense, and the depth and intelligence of the shotmaking that Djokovic showed today. Going toe to toe with Rafa at RG and coming away with the win -- especially that third set -- you have to tip your hat to the man. I don't envy Stefanos this weekend. And who's thinking that Djokovic might very well walk away with a true Grand Slam this year, and the all-time Slam record? I'll never understand why so many Nole posts have so much anger, and so much insecurity running through them. I think we're lucky to live in an era with three of the greatest players to pick up tennis rackets have gone up against each other and shown us just how amazing tennis can be, and how amazing a sport it is that it has room for three such divergent ways to win. My heart is always going to belong to the all-court artistry and outrageous shot-making nous that Fed brings to the table, but let me the 1550th person to salute Novak today on this thread, and say that I will definitely be taking time off work to see him show off his wondrous talents on Sunday.

What a petformance. I never expected Djokovic would have won this time. His mentality is out of this world. He is a brick wall itself. It was a craziest match

      That's false.
Just now jokic won mvp in the nba.
A guy who was not only drafted 2nd stanking round in his draft class but while a taco bell commercial was going on.... and jokic was actually sleeping when he was drafted laugh my ass off haha.
I didn't even add divac he was robbed of an nba title as well as stojakovic who I loved watching them play together.
I definitely root for the other slav players not just serbians.
Those countries are all small and we have to stick up for one another since yugo has long since been dissolved.

Never in my entire life have i ever seen a player learn from his own mistakes plus the mistakes of all the former opponents of his opponent, and adjust to that, devise a gameplan around that and execute it to perfection, like Novak did. Novak literally learned from the mistakes he had committed against Rafa at RG plus the mistakes all of Rafa's opponents over 15 years.
