- Ahoy legends, This week Cade and I are out at the Swain Reef Group, A reef fishing paradise! We'd just finished an awesome morning chasing GT's and thought we'd sneak up on to some flats for a quick fish before lunch! I'm sure glad we did!!

Back up the Swains end of September 2023. 15th trip in 15 years. Great tips on reef shallows fishing.
The sound bite played alone at the end absolutely folded me lol, seemed a normal sound to make when the rod bent over tho, good video Sammy love your work

I mainly bait fish when on charters on the Goldie so it will be a new experience for me for sure.

I kinda feel gloves make you more complacent and you stick your fingers where you normally wouldn't, seen it heaps as a boilermaker, just my opinion though 😉👌

Why aren't you throwing plastics on the flats instead? Losing stickbaits like that seems pricey. Are they way more effective or something?

You're right, they do work. But sometimes the suspending/floating sticks work well too. Jig heads with heavy gauge hooks can get hung up on the reef too easily.
Also, the surface boof is unbeatable!
