I wouldn’t use this card at 1440p but in 1080p I’m still confident to play whatever I want in decent graphics. One of the best cards that AMD created, it iis this certain
The thermal issues is a result of the blower style fan. You'd think AMD would move on from that outdated cooling design by now but no. Hopefully other OEMs come with better cooling solutions.
I would suspect that with the tempered glass side panel designs out these days you'll find the blower style can work well provided they have really good intakes.
Hi. Regarding the blender performance. Would you like to share the results with the blender developers. That can be done using devtalk.blender.org or blender.chat .we would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot
Yeah it looks like it was crushed in transport. I appreciate though the effort to do something that isn't just a rectangle. But maybe it's not helping the overheating issue with that restrictive kink.
@@El_Chompo The blower-style cooling is the real culprit here. There's a reason why Nvidia dropped that with their foundry RTX cards. AMD gets points for style, but comes up with a deficit due to the cooling method.

if they weren't industry shaker uppers, then nVidia wouldn't have rushed out Super cards so fast. Same thing with Intel lowering their prices due to Ryzen 3000 series.
In terms of the CPU side of things, I agree. However, nVidia fended off the best offense AMD had in the GPU world. The 2070 Super is king at this time for price to performance.
@@johnwar9653 the 5700 xt is 4/5th the cost of 2070 super. the super isn't giving you full 2080 power, so no. the 5700 xt is still a better value. infact, best value card is probably the 5700, being cheaper than the 2060 and still having comparable if not better performance. overclocking changes things dramatically in nvidia's favour, but we'll have to wait for better drivers and 3rd party coolers to see what headroom is left in navi.
This. This is how a good review is made. Including all the usage scenarios, not only gaming, with all the major Operating Systems in mind and comparing features. Good job guys!
I love the fact that LTT listens and gives us more Anthony, although, as much as I think he appreciates that we love him, he has to have work above his head, now adding much more presenting to his current work at LTT.
Over 2 years later, 5700xt sappgire is blowing cards out of the water. On par with the super expensive 2070s. And cpu price/performance, dont get me started! Still, that for the price is a 10900k is a beast!
The 5700xt isn't going up against the 2060 super. It's still comepting with the 2070 super. It was supposed to beat the 2070. Now it's at about the same level as the 2070 super and still beats the 2060 super. The 2060 super isn't even the 2070 level. 5700xt for the price point it's currently at and when compared to the market for the non super RTX cards is still hard to beat especially when looking at the current benchmarks that have flooded the internet.
Nvidia really showed up AMD this year by releasing the super series. But hey, at least AMD caught up on the CPU front this year. Maybe next year AMD will have both.
Great review!! You may have explained the reasoning for AMD cards losing out in the shorter blender benchmarks without realizing ;) If i am not mistaken, in 3d rendering, simpler scenes are much much easier to scale up across CUs. This is because there's not a whole lot of texture lookup, geometry loading, tessellation etc that goes on. As a result, when one GCN CU is processing essentially four operands one go, its not having to wait for next set of operands. When you have a complex scene, that wait time increases. And RDNA tries to overcome that. If what you're saying is correct, RDNA is essentially less parallel but at much higher frequency. Hence, it wins in complex loads. It will be interesting to see more tests on those. Perhaps run even heavier scenes? Like barber shop interior perhaps? It's a part of blender benchmark bundle. I do understand that would take a whole lot more time because that scene takes a lot longer to render. But if the trend continues there too, then what i am saying is in the ballpark.
@@ZiggityZeke well they don't all have blower coolers, buying a blower was your choice. But the performance is up there with the 2070 whilst the price when they were last sold was less than the 2060. None of the cards mentioned have acceptable ray tracing performance. The RTX 2060 struggles with cyberpunk with ray tracing off! If you want decent ray tracing performance you need a 3070 or better. Ray tracing tbh is a niche lighting effect. I find a lot more difference turning HDR on/off than ray tracing on/off. With ray tracing also causing unintended problems in games like Doom. Player hands move, but characters ray traced reflection stays static for instance.

If AMD could match or beat nVidia you'd better believe they would, that'd shake up the market & they would grab so many new customers who are sick of nVidia price gouging.

@@Tribulation88 It would be a long way from easy, big chips take a lot time, RDNA was barely ready for release on a small 'easy' chip that's in the 5700 so I can understand why a bigger, more complex chip for the high end would take much longer.
AMD only went after low and mainstream because nvidia pulled too far ahead. They wanted the crown, AMD even brought out cards with two GPUs to try to get there. I think RDNA can do this but we have seen AMD graphics team don't seem to move that fast these days.

You may have explained the reasoning for AMD cards losing out in the shorter blender benchmarks without realizing ;)
If i am not mistaken, in 3d rendering, simpler scenes are much much easier to scale up across CUs.
Wait, why doesn't Anthony do hosts more often???
This was absolutely spectacular.
Who would do the work?
Well this aged poorly. Turns out it was the best value card by a mile.
explain, i have one and i hate its stupid blower cooler and lack of RTX

Matt I can understand your point. However take it from an old fart like me. Don't be affraid of a Nvidia offering. I have always had good luck with an Amd CPU and a Nvidia graphics card.
