If Red Velvet has a million fans, I'am one of them. If Red Velvet has ten fans, I'am one of them. If Red Velvet has only one fan, that is me. If Red Velvet has no fans, I'am dead. If the world is against Red Velvet, I' am against the world
36:30 Yes red velvet like to sing in unison if they perform live. But when it comes to recording, you can notice how well they harmonizes each other. You can check their behind the recording content, you’ll be amazed on how they can harmonizes ❤
Your comments with Red Velvet are spot on. I feel like with RV, they truly love putting out good music for their fans. The producers that worked with them has such great impression while working with RV so it somehow tells us what they really wanted to achieve in the industry. Their career longevity is something to be proud of.
8:10 as someone who grew up listening to 1st gen kpop songs, i can say that having some random English in korean songs is not something that red velvet were pioneers of. it has been a common thing in kpop since 1st gen in the 90s.
This is by far the longest killing voice episode, but originally they recorder w little bit longer, they deleted some parts like so good, rbb and birthday.
About 36:30 , Red Velvet records lots of voices in the songs, because they can. Some songs have sections with more than 30 vocal layers. So yeah, there are lost of vocals in the background of every song. hidden harmonies, hidden adlibs, etc. They also have a range of tones and power pitch that makes the unison choruses to sound like harmonies when it's not. They are a freak vocal ensemble.
48:40 I know that Seulgi mentioned on Bubble that they had two takes because she messed up her intro on Bad Boy, so they had to take it again. So, I guess groups have a chance to do more than one take
Thank you guys very much for checking out THEIR KILLING VOICE which is funny because it matches their Witch concept where they are always trying to kill but they killed it here with their VOCALS 💯✨👑🔥😎 PLEASE PLEASE CHECK OUT THEIR BEHIND THE SCENES OF THEM IN THE STUDIO. YOU WILL HEAR THEIR RAW VOCALS IN THE MAKING OF THEIR SONGS😌👑✨
I got the same question as well when I saw rv killing voice is it like one take or not lol but who knows. Anyway, rv members do have a really good relationship with each other. You can see it when you watch them that they are like sisters, especially if you watch Level Up Project. Irene literally used to iron Yeri's high school uniform lol. It's one of the reasons that I like this group so much. Too bad they don't have a lot of content together. Their chemistry gives me a warm feeling, they are wholesome. They truly care about each other a lot. I remember Joy expressing how mad they were about Wendy's whole accident and how non-apologetic the official apology was. They were in a lot of pain back then so I'm glad they're doing well and even better now.
If you look at Red Velvet's early records, the intros and outros are approached in a very unusual way to create tension, and I think that's a hallmark of their music.
The sample used on Feel My Rhythm is Sebastian Bach's Air On A G String and it was released on his birthday. Red Velvet used Bang Bang as inspiration for Dumb Dumb. They also did the same thing for the chorus of their song Power Up which used Avril Lavigne's song Boyfriend. Power Up was not included in this KV performance.
Zimzalabim may be weird song wise, but better check their r to v concert the whole encore stage including zimzalabim is a bop, in the philippines the concert became a rave party.
SM entertainment actually started putting english in their songs pretty early. they did it was shinee songs and EXO. but they were often made fun of for the broken english 😂please react to their sibling group nct 127 killing voice🙏pleaseeee you'll love their music and they have amazing vocals
@@valenandtheo They are definitely retouched in post production. Usually these are included in the backing track. You can hear and actually see it in this KV 'live' performance. Compare it to Mamamoo's Killing Voice and you'll see it used less because Mamamoo's was the very first KV and the main vocals and ad lib vocals were 95% live with minimal pre recorded backing vocals. There's a raw and unprocessed live version available that was uploaded by accident by Dingo Music which was quickly replaced with the post production version. Solar peaked the mic levels a few times and was off key a couple times while Hwasa had a cold during the performance so her sultry voice was more sultry than usual and her vocals were adjusted slightly too in post production.
41:39 still got zero idea what drill music is about, but this is an interesting fun fact cause this song is about murder as well (and regretting it even though it's murder for defense, and coping with that guilt). It might be chosen for that purpose? or maybe it's just for the music itself lol idk.
About 14:15 , When you sound like they do, you dont need to sell other toys or features. The songs, even the b-sides are great. They sell good music and that's it. That's why they are the most respected kpop act, but not the most popular.
Red Velvet have the best female vocalist in kpop but as a group they are not the vocal queens of kpop. That honour goes to Mamamoo, the reason why Killing Voice was created in the first place. Mamamoo debuted less than two months before Red Velvet and are good friends, especially Seulgi and Moonbyul. You should check out Mamamoo's Killing Voice. Fun facts. Wendy (RV main vocalist) and Solar (Mamamoo main vocalist and leader) are the two best female kpop vocalists and they share the same birthday, 21 Feb.
Finally someone praises the mix. Killing voice have some awful mixes, maybe because singers are not that good. Red Velvet also don't improvise (maybe Wendy sometimes only). They sing live exactly as the record, so that also helps to the mix with an back track and not a live band.
SM should have incoporated much English into their lyrics to make rhyme. But with success of BTS wordwide, Kpop industry has found new market in the English speaking countries, thus there is a lof of English to the extent that many Koreans have to look up the words to understand the Kpop lyrics.

30 minutes is sooo short to show how versatile they are. They have the best Bsides!! They don't follow trends, they make them. 😉

Red Velvet already had concert tours in the US in 2018 so they have some English version songs.
Ooh that's too cool
Red Velvet is recently becoming my #2 favorite female kpop group. Great, great vocals... Still so much left to check our from them😊😊😊😊
48:40 I know that Seulgi mentioned on Bubble that they had two takes because she messed up her intro on Bad Boy, so they had to take it again. So, I guess groups have a chance to do more than one take

Red velvet, mamamoo and twice are the golden trio of vocals in the third generation
Zimzalabim may be weird for others but I SWEAR it’s one of the best songs for concerts! You just have to experience it 😉
I love RV. Best GG gen 3 for me. Even their B-side is so Good.
Zimzalabim may be weird song wise, but better check their r to v concert the whole encore stage including zimzalabim is a bop, in the philippines the concert became a rave party.

Best vocals and discography in Kpop.
Argue with the wall.
missing Birthday 😢❤ i love song
Red velvet is one of biggest third generation group. You could try listen their discography, it is a journey. Thanks for the good reaction guys
Correction btw It's not a pitch down or what, watch there recording and you'll know they harmonize with themselves.
Those vocals I was referring to were definitely not traditional harmonies but instead pitched down.

It's probably not "on purpose" in terms of the video's theme, but nonetheless, it's a surprisingly fitting coincidence😅
@@valenandtheo Yeah probably not lol but interesting nonetheless. Thank you for those little fun facts!
