Looks awesome, for $1,500 it’s lacking apple car play wireless, and I would have liked to see a PIP mode for the backup camera, I love what GM does with their rear view mirror live camera, and I would have liked to use apple car play for example, while seeing what’s behind me while driving. Finally the screen refresh rate looked low, like I said for $1,500 would have been nice to see a higher refresh rate, looks like it’s around 30fps… a bump to a static 60 fps would have been much better. 120fps if you wanted to go above beyond.. also it’s only a 1080p equivalent display ..? Cmon. it still has some value being an OEM fit but being picky like I am, paying almost 2k for a radio should have the latest tech, not tech that’s over 3 years old IMO.
@@dirkdiggler2379 It's over $1700 now. I just purchased it. Haven't installed it in my 2016 yet though. All radios are expensive at this level, if you get the Toyota high end display and radio it's 1500 dollar upgrade to your Takoma. I cant use this radio due to having terrain monitoring, i believe that is 6 cameras and this unit only supports 4, too bad I'd buy one if it did have 6.
You could also look up Speedir or the PathFindir II FLAIR thermal camera for night time diving and avoid that deer that wants so desperately to sacrifice itself on your new Toyota Tacoma. FLAIR products are the best, but the best is expensive, Speedir is cheaper but is of unknown quality so buyers beware, it is a Chinese ripoff of FLAIR Pathfinder II but it could be almost as good, but we all take risks sometimes and it's a cost saving decision that rarely works out, but when it does you strike gold.

As i just ordered and bought my 22 trd off road with toyotas multi terrain monitor. I asked the company who makes the stinger heigh10 if it would incorporate the toyota multi terrain monitor. They informed me it dosent so if i upgraded to this it would loose out on a huge $1000 factory upgrade. Which makes me unhappy do to it working with jeeps off road features. Are you guys going to be showing the fit on the 2nd gen? Also have you seen that new Tesla style head unit for the 2nd gen, looks cool but definitely would love to hear your thoughts on it and if you would carry it in the future.
Greetings. I will truly get this soon. But I had a question about the hdmi and usb. Can you plug in a external portable hard with video and watch it in the screen. Also is the hdmi plug accessible. Also what additional cameras can you use for this. Thanks
You can technically plug any device that uses HDMI, HDMY is not that accessible, our advice would be to connect the HDMI cable a route it to the desired destination. Here is one of the camera options that are currently available, more on the way! - tacomabeast.com/collections/head-units/products/flexible-housing-self-adhesive-blind-spot-camera-1

It has its own gps navigation feature 🤙
Thanks for the response. Does the new built in GPS come with the maps already installed or do you have to buy the map SD card on the company site for a couple hundred bucks separate? Also does the new GPS feature have route/trail tracking and route saving feature like the OEM?
@@johnrunner89 you just said you're happy with what you have why would you pay $1,500 to have essentially the same thing that mirrors your smartphone buy a $100 Android tablet and some 3M velcro stickies and velcro sticky it around the radio boom
That thing is almost too big looking. I wonder how much better it looks in video. Really all I want is apple car play and a factory look. Almost considering just doing an OEM swap. I’ll keep this in mind though!
Can you install the front camera with this unti, please?
Looks great! Does the camera's work with my factory off road front and side mirrors camera's? I have 2020 OR TRD prem.
So long as the cameras have an RCA cable for output it should work fine 🤙
Stinger offers a front camera with night vision for this unit 👍🏽👍🏽
🔥🔥
As i just ordered and bought my 22 trd off road with toyotas multi terrain monitor. I asked the company who makes the stinger heigh10 if it would incorporate the toyota multi terrain monitor. They informed me it dosent so if i upgraded to this it would loose out on a huge $1000 factory upgrade. Which makes me unhappy do to it working with jeeps off road features.
You guys should mention this in your video for those who have the off roads or pros whith that feature!.
We’ll keep that in mind for the future 🤙
Are you guys going to be showing the fit on the 2nd gen? Also have you seen that new Tesla style head unit for the 2nd gen, looks cool but definitely would love to hear your thoughts on it and if you would carry it in the future.
We’ll be showing the fit for the second gen too 🤙 have not heard about that head unit though
Awesome video folks 👍 ❤️
Thanks so much
Looked pretty easy!
Having one installed tomorrow
🔥
Does the factory radio auto-dim function work on this unit?
Need this for the 4Runner ASAP …..
This is an awesome upgrade! Does anyone know if this system is compatible with the OEM audio plus system?
It should be compatible 🤙
Love it wish it was wireless apple car play
Great video! My Tacoma 2021 rear camera not working. It does not even show up in Settings. Where should I start troubleshooting?
Shoot us an email at support@tacomabeast.com and we’ll point you in the right direction 🤙
Does it still have the built in maintenance reminders that is on my 2016 infotainment center? Resetting mileage for tire rotation, oil and other fluid changes would be a nice feature.
It should still have all the settings 🤙
if i current have the ANYTIME backup camera kit for front and rear view from a switch which i like cause i can quickly view it. will it maintain that?
As long as you connect the cameras to the new unit it should work fine 🤙
How is the mic quality? I'm happy with the integrated one in my truck now... is there a way to use the stock one in the ceiling?
Ifs beter then most aftermarket mics but still not the best.
The mic of the system is higher quality than that of the stock taco for sure 🤙
Excellent video! Does anybody know what happens to the Toyota settings menu? Does this system still allow access?
The settings will still be available 🤙
Listen man right now I’m living in Dubai as soon as I finish working here and my ass is about to go back home!!! I’m going to your website and getting one 🥹🥲❤️
I feel that this set up combine with the full OEM speaker upgrade is a most!!
It’s badass with the oem system
Do they what cameras they recommend for the other 3 cameras and is this compatible with the anytime camera mod? I love this.
It is not compatible with the anyone camera mod unfortunately
Do you know a head unit for a Toyota Tacoma 2023 that is not as expensive as the one on this video??
Very nice Display. One question is will it handle the 4 cameras that I have on my 2020 TRD off road. I saw that it had 4 inputs for cameras but will it give me the same 360 overhead view that I have now.?
It is not compatible with the 360 view
@@tacomabeast thanks for the info
Great instal. I definitely would not be using an impact driver for this instal. That is the wrong tool. A 12v drill, with the chuck set to a low tolerance and finish with hand screwdriver is by far the best way
Thanks for the info!
Will the OEM mic work with this set up and can you still access all the factory settings through the new deck, like auto locking door settings etc..
The kits mic is better than the OEM mic and you will still have access to the settings 🤙
