“My style is eccentric” *shops at the most popular white girl stores ever*
Right! Basic Forever 21 with clothes for 15 yr olds that last a month lmao
My thoughts exactly!
Julia I'm thinking the same thing 🤣
Hahaha I literally stopped at 0:30 to write this 😂 LOL
“I’m kinda ecentric”... shops at forever 21, h&m, urban outfitters🤦🏾♂️
I thought the same!!! Just like everyone else at buzzfeed 😒
Exactly! Like where?? 😔
I had to chuckle at this. Forever 21, h&m and Urban Outfitters isn’t unique.
i'm SO hip. I was like WHERE are the bold statement pieces? Because i don't see them...
😂
I’m sorry you’re not “extra” you’re Basic.
Exactly!
Yup all the basic stores
she just blends in with all the other basic white girls 😑
@@aj-ug1vf YES! Mother had way more style
Ikr
"I like shopping at:
Fast fashion
Fast fashion
Fast fashion and
Fast fashion"
Come on buzzfeed, stop promoting fast fashion, problematic brands. You have this huge platform, use it for good.
I'm glad they're drawing attention to it because people are really starting to notice it as well as realize how boring and basic these clothes are. There's such a contrast between these videos and the ones where they travel and buy clothes from 2nd hand stores or.places where things are handmade. Maybe they'll finally realize we're over them shopping at Forever21 for every video lmao
Who cares
very well said!
@@michellenicole6296 everyone should, duh
💯 likes on this comment! You buy cheap, you look cheap (and like every other teenager that shops those stores). Classic styles and well made clothes, will never go out of style. ‘Edgy” just comes from how you assemble and accessorize.
Susan has a super classy and tasteful style and I just have to say Chelsea is definitely not “extra”. She is the most basic person i’ve ever seen! Though the fact she said she was extra showed how basic she is, also I’m not sure if she is ready to hear about people who wear alternative fashion...
The daughter’s fashion reminds me of how I dressed in 2012
Oooh why is this so accurate 😫
the girls style looks like she's stuck in the weird teenage phase.
No..
I like mom's style. It's not tacky lol
Her saying she's EXTRA, I've never seen a dullest wardrobe, her mom dresses waaaaaaaaaaay better!!
Ok, Susan has awesome style that isn't at all "old" or dated. Keep her on this channel!
Chelsea needs to check herself, honestly putting down mom's style doesn't make her cool or funny.
When a basic says she’s extra 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Sorry, but mom's sense of fashion is way better. And it's NOT old at all. 😌💅❤✨
oh 100% agree 😆
This is exactly what I was thinking! I wonder why the daughter's sense of fashion is so warped? She looks put together and her age.
Jennifer M daughter is living in 2014/2015
Why was she saying the last outfit ages her when she picked something similar for her mom? The black jeans and animal print top looked good.
Also I agree her mom's choice is classy. Both outfits mom chose were better than her.
@@pinkheart315 The blouse fit her so well. It was my favorite outfit. Yes, I agree. The clothing choices were so similar, but the daughter made it seem like they were completely different. I often feel this way about this type of content. It is more about bias and perception about certain clothing brands than about realities.
"Eccentric" then mentions forever 21, h&m, urban outfitters and boohoo, sorry, but did you mean "generic"?
The mom's style is much better... Period
Also her mom's comments on color were on pointe. COLOR is so important ladies, I wish I knew that earlier.
I started wearing Ann Taylor and brands like INC from Macy’s after college bc A- I realized fast fashion is bad for the environment and B- I looked way better and put together with those clothes.
This girl is nowhere near eccentric and the outfits she pulled off with the mom brands looked nice.
I agree. Once i really started working and paying for everything myself, I realized I dont want to throw my money away on clothes that are good for a couple of wears and that will be out of fashion in a few months. Quality over quantity!
When she said she was eccentric, and then listed those stores? LOL No.
I like Ann Taylor too! They make me look so classy. Is Ann Taylor considered "slow" fashion though? I've been trying not to buy fast fashion and wasn't sure if Ann Taylor is considered fast or not
@@Leslie-wb8cb I had the exact same reaction. "I'm so eclectic and quirky and unique" and then shops at the most mainstream fast fashion mall stores that exist.
Rachna Anne Taylor is still fast fashion since it’s mass produced on a near continual basis, but if you are keeping your clothes for longer, purchasing less and getting more wear out of them that’s already a step in the right direction
the way they edited the beginning made it sound like "i'll be swapping clothing brands with my dog!" LOL
Hahaha I thought this too
It really does lol
Thank you for saying that!
I heard it that way too!
I actually like the moms style, it’s pretty classy. 🤷🏼♀️
Yeah agree
“My fashion is a little eccentric” but shops at fast fashion brands where hundreds of people have the same clothes as you HHAHAHA
girl youre not wrong lol
Yeah.. when it did the photos showing her “style” I was like... so every sophomore has the same style. Lol okay.
I must be getting old because I don’t see her mom wearing “old people” clothes. They look like normal clothing that anyone could wear. The daughter must be into what people call fast fashion which doesn’t look good on many people. She needs to actually see what old people clothing actually look like and realize that her moms fashion is nowhere near there. At least not yet. She also needs to realize that we don’t necessarily need to show so much skin to be fashionable or cool. You can look cute and modern without showing the goods.
The moms second outfit is Louis from family guys outfit 😂😂😂
THANK YOU! I really couldn't place it for a bit.
Oh. My. God. ..... Ur right hahahahahahahaha
@Anonymouse oops 😂 you're right lol
OH MY GOD YOUR RIGHT!!!!!!!
I wish they had done price comparisons. Or some sort of commentary on why younger people gravitate towards fast-fashion because it's more affordable. Didn't really see the point of this video. What was it trying to communicate aside from what we already know?
What is the point of any fashion video? They've done friends swapping styles.
@@recoil53 true, but the ones i've seen with friends at least have some commentary about confidence in stepping outside your comfort zone, they address sizing issues and other things like that. That's all I'm asking of this experiment. Like what did they learn? Why would the mom be so embarrassed to dress like her daughter, and vice versa. Are there any other issues other than their personal style, like maybe budget issues, as to why they gravitate to certain brands? The daughter kept calling it "mom style" and mocking a top because it reminded her of her older aunts--yet it looked great on her, so why was she detesting it so much and brands that cater to mature women? Is she worried about looking older, or looking her age? Or even them commenting on how or why dressing what's considered "age-appropriate" to their ages is something they should concern themselves with. Etc. just SOMETHING, any kind of commentary on this from them would have been good, and would have elevated the experiment.
@@camilam3975 I was wondering the same thing. Her mom can dress, but she looks like one of the Forever21 mannequins which are often put together by 16 year olds. I'm 25 and can hardly find earrings I like in stores like that. The quality is so garbage too.
This looks like it was filmed in 2013, just me?
I love the mom! She’s a riot and fun! The daughter is high key annoying, but hopefully she’ll grow into her mom some day
periodddd 😌✨✨
Definitely mom has better fashion and it's most relatable even though I m not even half of her age. I would prefer this mom style over others.
Im 24, I get stuff from Ann Taylor all the time (usually Loft), but I have been getting things from there for a LONG time. Like I do get things from "younger" brands, like crop tops and just more causal younger-looking stuff, but normally younger brands are super CHEAPLY made. They are good for those very trendy pieces you want for like one summer etc, but if you are someone with a job I feel like you probably should be shopping at a place like Loft, I don't think it makes you look old, its just more professional looking. Loft actually has a lot of good clothes, and clothes that are younger, they just tend to be more so business casual oriented style, vs a place like Urban outfitters which is just very casual/cofortbale.
I thought almost all outfits for both looked wonderful, except I agree with the mom that the drawstring jeans were maybe not the most flattering lol
“My fashion is a little bit eccentric. I love shopping at Forever21, H&M...”
...I sometimes wear medieval, viking, lolita or fairy kei clothing at work. In an academic library. I know this is not a competition...but it also totally is and let me outweird you immediately.
The daughter dresses the same way I did in 2013 when I was a junior in high school. This video seems really outdated for some reason.
Girl, love yourself. Stop shopping at Forever 21 and Boohoo
Also, if you think your style is extra, oof
(though if that's what you can afford, you do you)
Second hand is the way to go
@@meinkanal518 Exactly! I'm trying to shop on poshmark and sites like that more
daughter dresses like she JUST started picking out her own clothes and hasn't quite learned how to put certain pieces together
My mom is very stylish so I love borrowing her clothes or shoes. I think she is more stylish now at 60 than when she was at my age of 30. Just because she has more access to discovering styles and clothes. So switching clothes with my mom would just be normal for us haha ☺💕
i love that!
I have the same with my mom
I bet your mom looks classy and put together often like this girl's mom. She has a lot to learn about style from her mother though.
I switch clothes with my mother as well
This video made me miss my mom😪 shes not dead, I just miss her
my mom and i share clothes all the time and we both mostly just get walmart or thrift store clothes...
Love to see another video like this, but with used clothing or environmentally friendly brands.
I swear If I did this with my mom I would never leave my house.
Hey you leave 65 I mean 62 year old mom alone lol
Okay, but I want the mom’s shirt from the end.
Me too.
Same!!!
Honestly, my style is very similar to Susan's, I like to keep it simple and smart and there's nothing wrong with it (ultimately you should wear what makes you comfortable)
love that
Mom dresses wayyyy better. I am not a mom, but I shop from Macys and Nordstrom
The mom’s style is way better than the daughter’s. Dressing like her mom makes her age appropriate and guessing the daughter is in late 20s. Her mom has great style
Ann Taylor and INC has some gems!! I’m 22 and I shop there! I hope the daughter levels up her style soon 😂
Facts! There's nothing like leaving the basic stores behind for better quality.
Fun Fact: The Apollo astronauts' footprints on the Moon could stay there for 100 million years.
Duh Wrong Channel
@@ramneekbala1856 yea😂🤦
@@ramneekbala1856 There are 2-3 posters around who post random daily facts, for some reason.
This video gives me 2014 vibes and I don’t know how to explain why
In these times please try to avoid fast fashion brands, either thrift if your on a budget or spend your money on a small business !! You can find amazing pieces at super affordable prices
They both picked animal print for each other XD
I'm almost 25 and I love shopping at Ann Taylor/ Loft and Nordstrom. There are so many cute and very comfortable pieces for all events and environments! But also I'm tall and those stores carry flattering items for tall ladies!
I like the Mom fashion more than her daughter '-'
The mom roasting the last outfit “I think I kinda look ridiculous.. I would never ever ever wear this out of the house.. I’d be cringing.” 😂
She wasn't wrong. She actually has good taste lol
I’m 34 and my mother is 63 and honestly we swap clothing items sometimes. She’s so stylish! Love my mum.
I like Mum's style. And I would've never guessed that she's 65, she looks awesome.
The mom looked so cute and young in the last outfit!
“Eccentric” lol. Awwwww straight people are so cute.
Lmaoooo stop it!🤣 Some of us can dress. She's just not one.
Lillian Smith she gives straights a bad fashion rep
What a fun mother-daughter video!
Omg the last outfit that the mom chose for her daughter is sooooo goodddd. It looks really classy. Love her style
Love both of their styles!! ❤️❤️❤️
Love the first yellow dress her mother wore here! She’s not frumpy at all like the daughter described her first.
Momma knows what’s up!!! Listen to her haha.
Whoever sees this I hope u have a great day and if ur going through something hard you’ll get through it I promise just plz don’t take ur life
you are the cutest! love it
I was having a really bad day and it got better but this made it a lot better. Thank you ❤
love the mothers style 👌🏼
Girl! I DREAM about being able to shop at Ann Taylor. Your mom dresses classy 👍
I wanna do this with my mom but she has old style 😂
Maybe it might surprise you what you find🤷♀️ I mean the girl in the video thought her mom had old style but actually it was good. You might like something so try it😁
A Lot of fast fashion. Great. ✨✨
Girl needs her mom to pick out all of her clothes. It was the only outfit she wore that was any good.
Hey I loved Ann Taylor when I was a teenager.
I enjoy this video and I agree I do you like moms style.✨✨
I mainly shop at macys and I am 23. I love the Karen Scott brand, alfani, anne klien, Calvin klien. It looks professional for the majority, and I can dress them up or down. Also I love the vintage style so i can find a lot of things to incorporate into my style and wardrobe
Love that they both bought each other leopard tops lol
Is it just me or did it sound like they said IM GOING TO SWAP CLOTHES WITH MY DOG ?
Yes mom said daughter and daughter sounded like she said dog. I was so confused thinking that's rude
Me, who shops at the same store as my mom: *laughs evilly*
Love seeing the walk to defeat ALS shirt! Comforting to see support.
Chels and her mama are so cuteee
The mother's age gives the impression that her child should be late 20's to late 30's, but her child acts like a teenager.
This is a fun idea for a video!
Mom first dress is fire
I love moms first outfit
the mom clothing store choice is so much better
I’m 25 and Ann Taylor is probably one of my favorite brands
I’m in my mid 20’s and most of my work clothes is from Ann Taylor 😂
Where can I buy a super Susan 🥺
My RUclips saying there is three comments when there is... more than three.
The mom looks half her age 😂 mom goals
The coolest most unproblematic "susan" ever
My mom and I don’t have exactly the same style but we do LIVE for the occasional matching outfit 😂
Me and my mom match accidentally lol
You can get good quality cothing outside of fast fashion brands *ground breaking* 😑
It's funny how they both chose leapord print for each other!
I started wearing Ann Taylor in college and after because the suits were business school appropriate. The mom's fashion is way better!
Stop supporting fast fashion!!
I really enjoyed this video
youre amazing!
The work attire that the mom wear is basically my daily campus outfit, shirt sometimes with minimalist pattern, and straight pants (i never wore jeans ever since i go to uni) plus tote bag (or backpack if i had to bring laptop). I felt so unfashionable but then again I felt like I dont fit the trendy fashion.
Macy's Inc outfit is HOT! Sophisticated, yet a bit bold.
Mom dresses wayyy better. Can she be featured more?
My mom is also named Susan! And luckily we are close to the same size so I often borrow her professional clothes. haha
BRO THE WORK OUTFIT FOR THE MOM IS JUST LOIS FROM FAMILY GUY
Did they really spend the whole day in these outfits with tags on them, lol.
No shade but the girl is saying she's extra.... Gurll the gag
Mom, that work outfit 7.5? That was peak suburban mom outfit from H &M i would 9 or 10 for sure
I hope i look as good as her mom at 65, so posh
Okay but I really like mom’s style way better. It’s very simple but fashionable.
My mom and I share clothes all the time lmao
