- I've been seeing the TirTir Mask Fit Red Cushion Foundation all over RUclips and TikTok, so I had to try it out myself! Is this viral foundation overhyped? Does it really work for women with texture, fine lines, and larger pores? In this honest review, I'll share my experience with the TirTir Mask Fit Red Cushion Foundation, specifically for mature skin. Just wanted to come here and perhaps convince you to give it another try.
Cushion foundation are not like traditional foundation, they are way more potent and there’s a bit of learning curve in the application process especially for a full coverage one like the TirTir red mask. The pad you press in the product absorb sooo much more than we think. Only 1 tiny light even press in the cushion is more than enough for my whole face. If you keep pressing because you don’t see anything on the sponge then it’s way too thick of a layer on the skin and it will settles in pores and fine lines. Start with the smallest amount and If you want to apply more you can add another tiny layer as long as the first layer hasn’t dried down yet otherwise you will enter patchy pilling world. This is a silicone based foundation and if you use a water based primer/cream you need to let it fully dry first before putting on the foundation other wise they will push against each other and it will not sit well on your skin. I've had two people tell me they use a damp beauty blender to apply it. I'll try this again using my good camera so we can see the details. I'll try it your way on one side and the damp beauty blender on the other side. I'm excited! I think I'll be able to do it today. May I ask what you use for skincare? Maybe I have it in my collection.
I use mostly Korean skincare, lots of layers 😂 currently layering 3-4 toners /essence : Cosrx propolis toner, Numbuzin 3 essence, Cosrx 6 peptides essence then Toriden solid in essence, then I put my serums, Geek & Gorgeous Vit C, numbuzin vitamins 5, Geek & Gorgeous Peptides serum, I use Bonajour green tea moisturizer. Eye cream is Pyunkang Yul Black tea time reverse. Then I put sunscreen is currently either Skin1004 Madagascar water fit serum or purity sun essence by face republic.
All of these plays very well under the tirtir cushion. But i let it sit for a while before putting the foundation.

You're welcome, Robin. I'm not sure who this foundation is good for. I think most of you are like me. We want our skin to look like skin. Someone else told me a damp sponge works the best but even with that she didn't like it.
Robin, a few people made suggestions on how to apply it so I used it again today and it went a lot better. I'm doing a wear test so I'll hopefully have it up tomorrow or Tuesday.

I'm so happy it helps, Teresa. Goodness. I'm not sure how everyone is loving this so much. It's not user friendly. I'd much rather build the coverage up than have to tame it down.

Hi Lee, I posted another video today. A few women in my comments shared some tips on how to apply the foundation so I filmed it yesterday. It's much better this time. It is finicky though so I'm not sure it's something I would reach for a lot. I'm going to continue to use it with different products.

Hi Lola, I filmed another video today following some tips of some of the viewers. It turned out so much better. I was using it wrong but to be fair, I was following what other creators were doing. I wore it all day and checked in tonight. I'm hoping to have it up tomorrow by noon.🤗
Hi Julie… glad you tried the TirTir❤❤ Cushion foundation isn’t for everyone and I’m sorry you had a hard time with it!! This is how I use it… I use my finger to dab what I want out of the container and put it on my areas that I like to have more coverage, then I use a damp beauty blender to spread. That being said, I don’t have much texture other than under my eyes (which I don’t put foundation there anyway) and around my lips (and I use very little there) so, I didn’t have the same issues as you😢.
I thought you looked stunning from my end… but, we are harder on ourselves than others aren’t we ❤❤ I always love how honest and straightforward you are with your reviews… if you don’t like something, you show WHY you’re not a fan, but, you also don’t butcher the product either. I think you gave a great, honest review and it’ll save a lot of women from needlessly buying something they just won’t enjoy❤❤

I’m like you, I don’t like a “full coverage” makeup base… at our age it just reinforces the flaws (if you can call them that❤️) in our skin. Most cushions are meant to be full coverage (and that’s one of the points that Robert Welsh makes) unfortunately, he doesn’t give any suggestions as to how to shear it out. It’s just trial and error on our part if we choose to purchase said product. For me it’s the beauty blender… but, that being said, TirTir is not something that I reach for on the daily (just wanted to put that out there!)… I’m more geared towards my NARS radiant reflecting, or my MAC/Dior Face and Body (I absolutely adore both of those) and when it comes to fuller coverage… my MAC Studio Fix Tech cream to powder is a must❤️❤️

Yay, there is no way I would ever purchase the TirTir Cushion Foundation, although: I am purchasing UnLeisha Satin Cushion Foundation and trying it. I purchased the New Elf Satin Foundation with great hesitation, I applied it today and WOWZER! It’s beautiful. It didn’t settle into any of my lines and wrinkles and wore so pretty all day. I was shocked as I’ve never tried Elf makeup. I gravitate to the higher end foundations, yet haven’t been wearing any foundation and or eyeshadows. Great review Julie

I had a few people give me tips on how to apply it so I tried it again today and filmed it. It went much better than the other day. I'm wearing it all day and checking in at the end of the evening. I hope to have it up tomorrow or Tuesday.
Same for me, found it wasn't drying down very well and settled in creases...Estee lauder double wear for me
Oh yeah, completely different textures. I filmed another video after I had tips from subscribers on how to apply it. It turned out much better in the second video. But I wouldn't chose this foundation for someone who loves Double Wear. You can't beat it for oily/combo skin types.
I just received mine in the mail, I will probably return it based on your review. I'm 61 with normal skin.
You won't hear me speaking negatively about products very often. I really try not to do that but this was a hard no for me. I can typically make anything work. I'd much rather have the option of building up the coverage. It's much harder to remove than it is to add.
I've had suggestions of how to use it so I'm trying it right now with the suggestions. I'll try to edit it and post it quickly.
Another update. I used it again the way they suggested to apply it and it worked so much better today. I'm doing a check in at the end of the day. I hope to have the video edited and posted tomorrow.

This was so useful. Thank you. I think I look great at 64, but I have to be really careful because in addition to the regular issues of pores and wrinkles, I have acne scarring on my chin. If I don't use the right foundation, I look better bare skinned.

I feel like you. I can use many different foundations, some cushion, but this was terrible on my skin. Very drying and sitting in lines I didn't know I had. I tried everything to make it work but no go.
Hi Linda, I've had two people tell me they use it with a damp beauty blender. I'm going to try this again using my good camera with a damp beauty blender to see if it sits better. Maybe I'll use it with a difference moisturizer too to see if it makes a difference. I'll get to the bottom of this for us.🤗

They said to press the applicator in very lightly so it that it looks like there's hardly any product on it. That's where I went wrong. I'm excited to show you.

Yep i didnt like my purchase either. Too much work! But i kept mine and will use it as concealer on jaw line sun damage spots.

I wasn't a fan of this foundation either. I mean it's ok, it looks best applied with a damp beauty blender - but of course the coverage is lighter that way.
That's a great tip. All the creators I watch apply it with the applicator and rave about it. A damp beauty sponge makes a lot more sense. It's finicky. I have other foundations in my collection that are super easy to use so I can't see a reason I would ever reach for this one. I did pick the right colour though.😃

You have been using it incorrectly look at Robert Welsh’s video on how to do it correctly….biiiig difference….
Yes I saw Robert’s video… that being said, I prefer a more sheer coverage rather than with the cushion sponge. I don’t like the “full coverage”, and Hung Vanngo used a Rephr foundation brush and it looked light and flawless on his model (she WAS only 25 yrs old though)… for ME (I’m 57), I used a beauty blender, applied what I wanted (used my finger to dip out of the container and put it in my face) and spread it with my beauty blender. I really liked it… but cushion isn’t for everyone. It’s also not as expensive as other foundations on the market, so you’re not out a ton of money if you happen to not like it which is a plus❤❤

Right?! I mean, is it good for anyone? I can't imagine a younger person wanting this much coverage and they still have pores. Maybe someone with acne scares would want it but they would have texture too.🤷♀️
