Another video that was filmed close to a year ago but only got to editing it recently! Both Emil and I are no longer affiliated with this gym but for those who are interested in visiting me while I'm in NYC, you can find me at Glory Martial Arts Centre in Bay Ridge!
Pinned 2 days ago but video was released 6 seconds ago?????
You are a great Sensei😊, you know when to go hard and when to cool off a little bit. I swear that I see some details that you do just to not ncrease the “HEAT” but you know when to increase the pace for a good workout. Man you are truly an inspiration.
@@monsterhunternathanultimat4114 im not sure but maybe he privated the video, commented on it and then released it? Im not sure tho
@@monsterhunternathanultimat4114 I can make the link unlisted and pin a comment before I release haha.
@@MMAShredded Es ist "nur" seine Größe die ihm die Vorteile bringen, mehr nicht 😉..... wie im Schwimmen.
Mach mal low-kick 😉, dann kommt er "runter". 😁
When I was doing kickboxing, this guy called Adam joined the club. He was a boxer who wanted to learn kickboxing. I sparred him a few times and his hands were so fast. However he could not deal with kicks, specially side kicks to the stomach. I saw him years later and he had become huge, probably a good fighter. Though I can box pretty good, I would use kicks if I ever faced a good boxer.
cheers!!
As a former competition boxer who boxed for 6 years, I am now learning kickboxing. I am very excited hahaha
@@topebin3287try Muay Thai, we don’t have head move, just jab hock leg kick oder liver 😂 non stop with cardio like hyena
@@topebin3287you have great fundamentals. Boxers that came into the gym I was learning at always had great hands. Head movement changes a lot when knees and kicks are added in.
Boxers knows this in the meantime (2023) and training Muay Thai too. Not many "standard" muay thai guys can deal with a boxer who comes past his kicks. :-D I expirinced this every week. :-) ---kickboxers/MT guys often throw a 1 2 (straight, hook etc.) and afterswards standing still for a moment. 😛 Guess what happens than. ;-)
The slowmo is artful. Your head movement blended with your striking so well.
Hard to belive the kid has only been training for two years. He is very good already.
thank you!!
2 years isn't actually such a short time for a boxer to learn a lot, Boxer isn't very good for a guy who has been training for 2 years, he got outboxed by a much smaller mma fighter under boxing rules, Jeff is a retired mma fighter who had never competed vs high calibre fighters
@@MuhammadAli-kg7ijso much bullshit in one comment 😂😂
You can become very good in Boxing in just two years depending on how much your train and what you're training. That's the beauty of boxing, it's relatively easy to pick up and get good quickly compared to other martial arts.
@@reverbautopsy9093 Finally someone who understand martial arts, I have been training kickboxing 3-4 months, I have very competetive rounds vs bigger and more experienced fighters, it's about skill and hardwork
Your boxing style is really unorthodox, wild but controlled, dynamic with good accuracy really fun to watch! 🥊👍
thx!!!
His boxing style is just his mma striking with no kicks
Glazing
Looks rather good for someone with only 1-2 years experience. That's a lot of arm to get past. Excellent as usual.
thanks man!
hes just naturally fast.
Man, you never cease to amazed me with the level of your skills and knowledge, I train karate but I have plans to make the transition to MMA and I like the way in which your channel is becoming a a kind of library both for the most experienced fighters and for the newest.
thanks brother :)
Have being seeing your videos lately and you're giving my confidence back when doing Kickboxing
Jeff, your videos evolved into being entertaining and helpful at the same time. Pointing out the right moments and explaining them while slowing the videos is making it fun to watch. Keep doing the good job! 👍💪👊
thank you for your feedback!!
You are doing great. Especially your movement (head too) in general is very fast and versatile. Props !
Those darting crosses and overhands are sick!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
:) thanks Sifu!!!
Super entertaining and informative video, Jeff! Love the descriptive commentary, as always!
thank you!!!
Wow, even this hard sparring has great controls. Plus the head movement is so well timed, that hard contact seems to just roll off.
cheers!
Love watching you spar Jeff, amazing!
thanks brother!
Thanx Jeff! Great work💪🏼
thank you!!
Nice content as always
thank you!!!
How can you not like such a good video? Congratulations on the content.
Continue, please. 😄👊
thank you!!
That was a great breakdown thank you
thx!!
Thanks for the vids 🙏🏼
no prob!
Jeff I LOVE the vids of you sparring boxers. MORE PLEASE!!!!
thank you!!
Right on Jeff!
The young man you were sparing with had good basic southpaw front lead foot dominance. Perhaps that right hook will develop into a really solid tool for him.
Great how you changed up, taking him out of position. Then, stealing his south paw advantage using it against him.
Generally, if a taller opponent has a propensity to lean back from high punches and at the same time gluing their feet to the ground, feign high but go to the body and move forward to knock them off balance. I hope that makes sense.
You know your stuff. So, I don't want to key board coach you. Lol
Great videos!
thanks brother!!
very nice sparing,,, thank u for this video.
He’s good shows what determination can accomplish
cheers!
What a redemption arc for this guy who was in your heated sparring videos.
@@alexanderdelarge3993 you went from villain to young talented boxer in just one sparring session posted in 2 different vids. Lol. I remember people trashing you on Instagram for going too hard. Enjoy being a good guy now.
Awesome Vid💪🔥🔥
thx!!
Beautiful movement! It’s hard fighting guys with such a huge reach advantage.
thanks!!
that's good! even the harder sparring session (2nd one) seems like a no ego one, which is nice to see
cheers!!
Always fun and educational.
:)
I love the head movement of Jeff Chan. I hope you can already show your sparring video with Ramsey Dewey.
thank you!!
"pullback" game is "hard" to develop
cheers!
Do you think Jeff got the joke or just greeting you as courtesy
@@cahallo5964 what joke?
Nice video, that sparing was a pleasure to watch
thx!!!
I like your movement jeff
Its so fluid and fast
thanks man!!
Thanks for the tips, I am 175cm so usually my opponents are higher and heavier than me during sparring in my club 😂, gotta keep that close range pressure
cheers!!
props for keeping up with the 20 year old!
cheers!
Hard yet, responsible sparring. This is what people could learn from.
cheers!!
So technical!

Im hype to hear youre back for season 2 of USDC with jesse and ranton
its gonna be hard... haha
@@MMAShredded Jesse is definitely determined to give you a hard time. I am very curious how much he will surprise you.
Hahahah it looked pretty controlled up until the end, and when yall switched to the other camera yall went harder, but overall didn't seem too hard, but then again I'm not the one eating punches. Nonetheless great video as always!
thanks for watching!!
I believe Good Boxers! Are the best strikers in the world! But in order to be the best fighters! One must be well rounded!
Thanks Jeff for the Video 👍
cheers!
Kid’s got game.
yeah!
So good
thx!!
The one weakness for boxers, leg kicks 😂 sparred a boxer man what a huge difference in technique 💨🔥☯️🥋
Your striking is very unique and unorthodox kinda reminiscent of a young Dominic Cruz
thx!!
i like the kid's fighting style
You're very good at counter punching.
thx!!
I hate being a short boxer. You gotta put in so much work just to get inside and land something
Good sparring, brother. I'm trying to get my head movement more crisp like yours. He looks pretty decent due to his reach and just only boxing to be honest, but if kicks were involved I don't think this would be as close as it seems lol.
cheers!
Nice stuff!
At 4:42 even Snoop Dogg seems to approve from the side :)
osss
Bro learned ultra instinct
haha
Can anyone tell me what shoes is the boxer wearing?
How do you feel when fighting someone who has been training for a very short amount of time (in this case a year or two'ish) compared to your 16 years and is giving you hard time to get to (tho I know this is a very controlled sparring). In my case I overthink it a bit, sometimes my ego gets in the way. I would like to know how you deal with such situations mentally. Great vid as always!
Called bein' butthurt
Yeah sometimes not landing as cleanly against lesser opponents makes me turn it up a notch too. Then I have to check my ego
it sucks, but I try not to compare myself to others. I just try to be the best version of myself.
Age difference plays an enormous factor in physical sports.
surprised he had control on his cross at 20. good work
cheers!
Hey Jeff can you do “10 techniques used by Demetrius Johnso” video please 😊
from your perspective why don't people use "frame breaking" more often? like for example if someone is moving in for any kind of attack you crash in and shake their center, could be pushing them over, or getting them off balance for a power elbow etc
ill frame sometimes! not sure why others dont use it more
How do you come across so many different gyms? Are you travelling while training?
I like to travel and train yes!
Nice, I want to do that too. I can imagine you learn a lot of different things from different places
Clean as always Jeff! Do you think its easier for a shorter person to win in muay thai, compared to boxing?
thanks man!!
I think it is harder because you gotta watch out for knees and kicks
Maybe lighter. I think weight is more important in boxing and reach in muay thai.
He is a very good boxer for two years… however he did have a huge size and reach advantage.
His cross is weird(boxing style guy), and his jab also very restricted. He have a bit of good foot work but he need to move that torso, too stiff. Hes lucky he have that reach. Good video, keep it up guys, well done.
thanks for watching!
Boxing vs long bois u rlly need to push in and defend on the inside rather than backing off, the advantage of length is ur opponents will struggle to land power shots, mike tyson demonstrates effective tall fighting in his fights
What shin guards are you rocking in this?
Amazing head movements, amazing attacks, but i missed some body shots
cheers!
Jeff would you ever do a gear review? I notice you use a ton of different gloves/shin guards and there is a lack of good information on what brands are making good gear.
I dont do review videos but can always tell you my fav pairs!
❤❤❤
:)
How come you never wear any headgear?
I also understand why u retired from fighting competition Jeff, u upload a lot of videos of ur sparring even if u do come back and fight ur opponents would be able to watch ur sparring videos and study u I see that u completely had to fully commit and tell urself that u we’re done fighting
When you throw a punch the other should guard your chin
How would u recommend get past a taller person's jab?
Slip to the outside, body hooks/uppercuts all day. Mix it up with some head shots to stay unpredictable. Also block some jabs so he doesn’t know when you will slip.
flowsepai had a good answer :)
So what’s comfortable and what you feel is effective. There’s no one way because adjustments will be made so I’ll give some boxing examples since you mention the jab specifically.
Lomachenko uses his footwork to turn his opposition and get inside.
Floyd Mayweather deflect the jab and open his opponent for a counter
Bud Crawford fights in the opposite stance and shoots his jab with timing to throw off his opponent’s jab and open him for a counter
Bud Crawford will also fight in the opposite stance and use his head movement and distance to get off a counter
Teofimo Lopez will look for a big counter punch with his power hand while taking the hit and basically say I’ll trade your jab for my hook to discourage his opponent from throwing it.
Shakur Stevenson uses his timing and speed to beat his opponent to the punch.
There is no one good way to get around the jab. Depends on the fighter and opponent!
Too good 4 someone who has been training 4 a year or two
yeah!!
Jeff will u fight again in One Championship?
yeaaaahhh???
You don't use your high guard enough or blocking and tanking with your glove guard instead of constantly staying offensive with head movement which is why you get caught
Happy butt kicking Saturday 💪😁
happy sat :)
HARD!
cheers!
Should have just walked him down with a high guard and get your head on his chest, you’ll catch a few on the way in prob but you’ll put him in a way more uncomfortable position rather than try and play the distance and timing game cause he looks like he’s got a decent reach
cheers!
I notice you slip a jab to his inside a few times, were you not worried about his other hand lighting you up?
I slip on the inside all the time, as long as you keep moving your head it's okay.
his head almost dont move
but dodge ur boxing :D
What kind of shin guards?
primo fightewear, email me at jeff@mmashredded.com if you need a discount code!
trust me this is not jeff going hard. its him just trying to get good work out and sweat a little bit, this kid has a lot to learn on his foot work and if jeff pushed 10/10 he would be knocked out
👍🏽

what size gloves do you spar in? This guy looks like he was using 14oz
How tall are you?
Against tall guys like that who counter like that just go to the body. Especially if you are shorter it's so easy to hit them in the body. Like insanely easy.
cheers!
@@MMAShredded You're obviously the pro fighter, but i've only been boxing for 4 years and i wish i saw more people go to the body it's a lot of fun to hit people in the body cause not many people do it. So try it more if you want . Thanks for the videos tho man.
Hate sparring tall dudes in a big open space. Usually in the ring you can corner someone against the rope/corner/net and that allows to stay in the pocket longer.
cheers!
If you spar just boxing you must have better block and parade its not the same as mma/muay thai stance with head movement. Adjust a little to the different style. Its just mine but IMO you drop your hands way to often especially when relying on your head movement.
Boxer is clearly a beginner
A lot of punches landed have no momentum at all more like touches . Not because they are sparring punches but they are thrown off balance and out of position
Same facial expressions as young Tyson Fury lol
haha
his style is a little unorthodox... very frustrating opponent for me... usually this is the cause for a harder sparring in order to achieve something. People using this style often lean back to avoid hits and they are very open so a feint, 1-2 steps forward with nice head movement and power hits is the way to deal with this. be patient and select your punches so as to make the difference.
cheers!
His style kinda looks like Dustin Poirier
cheers!
I would love to spar with you Jeff
I have watched a lot of your content
But I don’t think your close to me at all
I’m on Vancouver island Nanaimo
one day bro :)
Jeff you’re too fast 😂
:P
Dude does plenty of defensive mistakes hands come back low, chin high as fuark god thing he's fast and with good reflexes he can get away with most of it , btw i do half of thse same mistakes but i aint that fast heheh
haha
Feel like this kid is relying too much on his range with messy punches. You had much more control and poise. How do you think you would have done if you fought him brawler style? Closing the distance and throwing hooks, liver shots and upper cuts-the Mike Tyson special lol
prob woulda got hit more lol he is fasttt and my boxing is not very good
@@MMAShredded lol nah man, you were on point here - I was watching this waiting for you to sweep him. 😂 Thanks for the reply!
Man he’s lucky to spar with you 🫡
:)
Hello mr. Jeff Chan. I have really interesting video about Wing Chun. If you want i can share with you????
The boxer needs to keep his hands up or move his head
dude... what are you talking about? the guy is vicious. his lead left hook is gonna be "problems" for most people. i think the due has a crisp and tight fighting style but drops his hands only when he needs too.
@@ghklfghjfghjcvbnc lead left hook? I dont know what you are smoking, his back hand is his left hand. The boxer is throwing arm punches and drops his hands on the way
Yea I don't know what video you were watching
He is literally moving his head….. people don’t even understand what they are watching trying to give advice 😭
Uhhh explain your reasoning maybe?
