This was a great set. Dean started it with his own hilarious put-down of Rich Little quickly setting a high bar. And Rich Little kept the laughs going without a let-up. And, come to think of it, Don Rickles would have made a great president.

And I don't recall Little doing Don Rickles. Then again, I was a child, at the time. Holy mackerel, he nailed it! I really like his Bogie impression, too.
Today’s roasts don’t ever actually zing anybody. Each quasi-celebrity tells one joke to the Roastee then one joke to each of the other Roasters and each joke is barely a hit. They rarely use actual comedians too. Yep, have to agree. When Comedy Central got ahold of the Roast platform they made G rated jokes a strict policy.
Ain’t that the truth air eight anything they can do they can’t compete with what was good here in the 70s and the celebrity rose between Martin and the cast and people the the comedians we have today are not as good as those of the past but just not and you’re right it’s rubbish it’s garbage it’s junk I was guys are real talented now we just don’t we just don’t have the same quality of comedians it’s just not there sad but it’s true

I would love to see the kind of actors and comedians today that we had then. I will always hold fond memories of watching them when I was growing up. Most, if not all of them are gone now. Absolutely the really good old days and nights, when late night was worth staying up late. Super fantastic entertainment....100 times better than anything today. When I look back so much better with less networks and better variety.
My bed time was 9:00, I used to sneak out, and hide behind my Dads recliner, just to watch the Dean Martin Roasts, I think there was one every month or so... Now that I’m in my 50’s, the jokes make a lot more sense... lol!

Rich Little is the best impersonation artist who ever tried that specialty act. He's the only guy who could do a decent Don Rickles who was hard to imitate.
Great comedy never dies. We can’t laugh at ourselves anymore and that’s a tragedy i. e.; Chris Rock and Will Smith. Chris Rock’s joke was pure Rickles and hilarious. It’s why nobody watches todays performers like they used to.

Of all the great celebrities gathered together for this show, one of the only left still standing is Rich Little. Numerous face lifts have left him practically unrecognizable from the man in this video. I saw him recently on a conservative talk show and his face has changed significantly but, unlike the others, he is still with us.
