Fantastic find. I was at this event, being the debut of ATCC at little ol' Mallala while AIR owner Bob Jane blued with CAMS. Much anticipation over this category, being the desperately needed premier open wheel category. The Shrike of Abrahams was built by a local TAFE college where a friend worked, so there was a lot of local hype surrounding those cars. It proved it was an accessible budget category with balls. Yes they did sound a bit flat but they looked great and were megafast.
Wow. What an absolute treat it was to see Brett Fisher of Team Cockroach applying his talents in Formula Holden. Not many people know this but Brett actually got a trophy for fastest lap at an Oran Park practice day
Well thanks so much for sharing that, must have been a great moment for Brett, great that we can share this special part of Australian motor racing history all these years later, cheers!
Man, that's a ride down memory lane! I'll never forget the look and Eddo's face (Tony Edmonson) when we snatched pole from my best mate Mark Skidly McLaughlin!!

Would be great to see crowds like that back at Mallala
