"With A Girl Like You' was a number one hit in the UK in 1966 when fashions in both America and UK came from a small well known street in London (Carnaby Street) part of the swinging London scene. Both women and men wore patterned pants and flowered shirts and boots.

Lyrics:
I want to spend my life with a girl like you Ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba And do all the things that you want me to Ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba
Till that time has come that we might live as one Can I dance with you? Ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba Ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba
I tell by the way you dress that you're so refined Ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba And by the way you talk that you're just my kind Ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba
Girl why should it be that you don't notice me Can I dance with you? Ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba Ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba
Baby baby is there no chance I can take you for the last dance All night long yeah, I've been waiting Now there'll be no hesitating
So before this dance has reached the end Ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba To you across the floor, my love I'll send Ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba
I just hope and pray that I'll find a way to say Can I dance with you? Ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba Ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba
The best of the best
This song PERFECTLY incapsulates the 60’s
Oh how I wish I could have been there😢
Esattamente 😊😊
Troggs we're magnificent !
good Song Brings me back to a better Place. Ginny Ross
Hi Virginia
I'm in love with this song.
People in the 60's were lucky with all the songs back then.
It all had spirit & feeling.
Music had some real meaning.
It does still but rarely played on the radio
I agree with you completely.
I hate to sound like one of those old farts (which I am) bragging about how thing were better back then, but you're 100% correct. Just imagine, the Top Ten hits blaring constantly out of the radio were the Beatles, Stones, Who, Hendrix, Cream, CCR...Way too many to remember.

@@ronniechilds2002 Sinatra, Herb Alpert, Tiny Tim, etc
A brilliant record. The Troggs were a great group.
5 years old in 1960 , when rock'n'roll as we know it , came into our lives . Troggs, Animals, Byrds, the Loved ones ~ the list is endless . 15 years old in 1970 and what a great time for music , love , peace and life . People cared about each other !
I know exactly what you mean, I was 7 years old and still, nothing compares to the music of the 60s.
Highly underrated, a great band!

But , as far as I realise now -
it was just a short periode in manskind history .

Pure fantastic vintage 60s. I was crazy over this song back then. Still am. 💜

I'm 21 but I love 60's music and I've recently really gotten into the Troggs and other 60's rock bands like the Byrds,. great stuff
Hello Miles. You will find a treasure trove of actual music to bless your ears. Look up the groups Rare Earth, CCR, Santana, Delfonics, Mamas and the Papas, etc.. enjoy!

Only 100....
Yes indeed!
I’m 13 and I genuinely love this type of stuff.
In 2024 do you still feel the same? I hope so.🙂
I saw the Troggs live at Wimbledon Palais. Those were the days, wish I could go back and be young again!
I saw them at the rink sunderland in 1968.
Me too.
At least we were there in the sixties. The shame of it is, we never really appreciated those times while were young.
I would not change a thing. Those days had special magic.
Songs from my teens. Still fabulous!
Great song by a great group ....I listened to them when I was a teenager back in the 60s ...
As a teen in the sixties I was living with my parents who were in the RAF at Northolt. I was crazy about the Troggs and if they ever appeared within travelling distance I would go to their gigs. I looked up my diaries and these are the venues I saw them performing - 21 May 1967 Starlite Greenford , 7 March 1967 ,Adelphi Slough, 6 May 1966, Town Hall High Wycombe 21June 1966 Starlite Ballroom Greenford 17 July 1966 Marquee London 26 July 1966. In the autumn of 1967 I had met a Swedish girl and on a visit to Sweden I saw them there in Stockholm in October 1967, Such happy memories
@rogerbyroncollins7204,. You my friend are the ultimate Troggs fan! I heard a short interview years back. It talked about how The Troggs decided on the name. They were in a van going to a gig, maybe the first? And one of the band members girlfriends was there and there were trying to come up with a name.she suggested, The Grotty Troggs, it got shortened to the Troggs. I hope that you enjoyed this bit of background on them. All the best and may God bless Mate.
In the Sixties, Magic filled the air. Not like now.
There are no words
imaginable, that can
Describe the 60ts.
Beatles, Motown and the British Invasion. Best era of music that will ever be.
The famous line was I f you remember the 60s you wasn't there
WE WERE FUCKING BLESSED IN EVERY WAY. EVERYTHING HAS GONE TO GREED SHIT.
So true.
No denying that
The 60s kinda sucked for minorities
One of my absolute favorite songs of the 60s.
American girls of the 1960s and 70s were so beautiful.
Ya know what...
they still are.
American girls. Mmmmmm. The best. Just dont marry one.
Reg and the Troggs were WAY ahead of their time and so original.Love their songs and lyrics.
The Good Ole Days ..Loved and Never Forgotten
Remember hearing this on NZ radio as a young boy in the mid 60s-wonderful
I feel 16 again when I hear this songs, they were just unbelievable, loved them. Anita Jackson, SA
My Dad loves this song . A wonderful song we get to share .
What a great song from Reg Presley & The Troggs.🎸❤
this music video moves me in indescribable ways...the purity of those times, the sense of possibility....a pinnacle of history
I was 5 yrs old wen this song was number 1 on the charts in New Zealand. Wow that fashion!
Love the line "can I dance with you". Brilliant track love it...
Born in 61 allowed me to grow up to the best music, 60"s.70's and the 80's which was amazing. British Invasion, Folk, Motown , psychedelic, Heavy Metal. Even Disco, Punk and techno and yes watching the 1st MtV video and all it had to offer was amazing to grow up too....
This group is sometimes considered the first "punk rock" group in rock and roll! If nothing else, that assures their place in pop culture forever!!!!
The first punk was Mozart.
the first punk rock band is from Peru
@@MegaBerzelius What were their name?
Los Saicos, that’s the proto-punk band from Peru
@@dannycometinI must admit, I've never heard of this band so I looked them up and they were formed in 1964, the same year that the Troggs were formed so we can't say for sure which band was the first punk rock band so suffice it to say that both groups pioneered the genre.
I'll never be able to figure out why things ever had to change in the first place! We had a much better sense of values back then than we'll ever have today!
I was always blown away by the unique guitar riffs in their work. Very gusty and strong.
Oh yeah, just like 'Wild Thing'. Great riffs!
I am 12 years old and I am the only one at my school that likes good music, this is good music and some people dont know it.
You've got good taste!
you're right

Every era has good music , including today. Don't be close minded to anything no matter where and when it is from... that said, 1960s music is special
@@PhilipKaskela Stormzy... I would rather be a jew in Nazi Germany than have to endure this type of music! Dion and Belmonts over any rap song!
One of my favorite songs from the 60's. I love this song!
Yes... We wer Blessed, the 60s ❤
This was the only number 1 hit for The Troggs, Wild Thing was their greatest and most famous hit. WIth A Girl Like You is an excellent song and really underrated. Reached No.1 on 4 August 1966 for 2 weeks and ended up being the UK's No.11 of 1966.
While I love the simplicity of this song (just the opportunity to dance with the girl was his only motivation), he saw so many elements that attracted him😮, "Love is all around," is emotionally superior....inho.
Great tune
Beatles, Motown and the British Invasion. Best era of music that will ever be.

Couldn't agree more. I've only one regret regarding the sixties. I wish I had realised at the time I was living through a period which would never be repeated. Being a teenager at the time, I guess I just assumed my adult life would always be like that. How wrong can you be ?

The Troggs were very special. Great songs. But these were very special creative times too. So many great acts. The swinging sixties. Something in the air. Just enjoy the vibe !
It’s true there is something about the 60, 70, 80,s. Great tune and melody. Give me a melancholy feeling.
Billy Mac sent this to me. We served together in Long Binh, Vietnam. Song is so perfect for us!
I loved this song when it came out, and I still think it’s one of the great ones of the 60’s. That and Wild Thing. 😊

When I was in the Navy on my first ship, USS BLANDY DD943, a destroyer. We went to Miami for liberty, (time off) a friend from Michigan and I went to the Playboy Club there. What a place for two young Sailors. Great time!! Some of the Bunnies were nice to us. Just talking, still great. Had dinner and drinks, very memorable!!!!

I had forgotten this gem. Very catchy and good. They had mucho talent as a band! A nice bridge back too the verses!
That video is a real throwback. I'd call that mid-60s and just a couple years later that whole Hef scene was taking its last breath.
The amazing Troggs. This is sooo cool and an incredible time. Love the fashion. 🎶🎧🎼👀

It was their only number one yes. I loved all their records and still have them in the loft including a track called 'lost girl' that came out before Wild Thing. They were my favourite band and R.I.P also to drummer Ronnie Bond
