I’m an INFP. My adult son is INFJ. We describe our main personality difference as he understands why people feel the way they do but I simply feel what they feel. Thx! 😊
@ As long as you are always there for your children you’ll have wonderful conversations as they grow into adults. My kids are 36 & 23. I’ve been at this a while now. 😉✨
Thank you for your insights. During this episode I imagined myself scheduling sessions with you and discovering new abilities. The way you talk about the INFP personality makes me laugh (for example the being on a quest) and smile :)
One things that sets us apart to me (INFJ) is the really more noticeable philosophical and metaphysical vibe INFJs have. The spirituality aspect. Of course INFPs have high Ne so they are this way too but it's like the air they breath for INFJs. INFPs are more about personal feelings themselves when INFJs are more about how social dynamics affect the world and people at large on a large scale. I think if one tries to really understand the difference between Fe and Fi it will start to appear more clearly. INFJs also have this tunnel vision that is focused on abstraction itself and metaphysics when INFPs dive deep on emotions. Subtle difference but if you pay attention you can notice it.
And for example I don't feel like INxJs are that much after novelty like INxPs are. INFJs are more after reliable ideas so as long as it works the best sticking to one way isn't a problem for INFJs. We like the motto "if it's not broken, don't fix it". We're not easily bored and I think that's the thing on which Ne and Ni are polar opposites. Ne is easily bored, Ni is hardly bored.
The first line, I can interpret as relating to as an INFP, though what INFJs mean might be completely different. 😂 I do want more knowledge, but it is what currently excites me or inspires me, just like you mentioned, until it doesn’t, like a totally promiscuous person, cheating on concepts, flitting to and fro. For me “acting or following through on an idea” means to write it down to try to remember it, or to ask others for feedback to see if I might be on the right trail, since I am never too confident my hypothesis or what I think I am observing is totally on target. I don’t have a feeling of “knowing” in the realm of ideas. My certainty lies more with when I discover an important value for myself, it gets pretty solidified until really big life experiences might challenge those, causing a desire for re-evaluation. (I just had a cringe moment of realizing how self-referential I am while re-reading… so INFP to understand others by looking inward and comparing and contrasting)
Makes sense to me. I also am constantly amused by how I try to dig into other people’s comments but often end up just talking about myself. (Case in point)
@ 😂 I have been trying to learn active listening, and keeping it about the other person, so lately I’ve been trying to hold the self-referencing in my head… But it is such an engrained habit that it slips out. Ahahahaha. Work in progress, especially when it is more appropriate to keep the focus on the other. (I just wrote a whole bunch of sentences talking about myself, rather than asking you to elaborate more on your experiences. lol.😂 But I also assumed your experiences are similar to what I am mentioning… probably an INFP thing too, when doing the compare and contrast thing.)
INFP: “I am trying not to be so self-absorbed and self-referential… I can’t help it, I swear! I think about others, I really do! Please trust me on that.”
You brought up an interesting point. Ennegram. I'm a 5w6. You say you're a 9. I've just figured out I'm an INFP so I'm taking all this in. How do these 2 tests fit/hone/ clarify who I am?
I also like to go for exciting new fun knowledge and following through is hard Same story for inspiring others and the leader thing eeeh, not quite As for the schedule, I just go with the flow 😅 if I don't feel like Spirituality is a part of me, I consider myself a cultivator in that sense though I'm not attaining immortality 😅 The rest seems to be the same .that's my feedback thanks fkr the video 3am before i sleep
@@GeekPsychology Matt stole a set of ESTJ armor and started wearing, but blew his cover when he kept self-referencing and talking about what’s important to him related to how he relates to himself and others.
@Rubixire_gs “how did u know ur an INFP?” I think a common way to see mistypes, is when someone directly challenges the Identity Framework one identifies with, in this case Type, or INFP… To watch for their reaction. Oftentimes, but not always, when someone’s underlying pattern is incongruent with what they are currently latching onto, They will feel super unstable psychologically, and often go on a long rant of why they are a type, or why they are not a type. They will feel very unsettled. Whereas when a person is directly confronted about their Type, and they identify with their correct type, they will have a Calmness to them, without the knee-jerk reactions and ranting. (At least this has been my experience so far)

Thank you for this breakdown, Matt. As an INFJ, I really appreciate and love all the INFPs in my life. I feel they really get me. Hope all is well! 😅
Wonderful! Thanks for spreading the love. Us INFPs appreciate it.
Can I just say. I love the room you're in! I am listening, I promise, but I so want to be there and sit to soak up the vibe, the energy of that room.

hi :') im an INFP and i reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally think ur an ESTJ, how did u know ur an INFP
He's a very well-developed INFP
ESTJ I think is our subconscious, and when we r working and at times, come across as ESTJ..... but our basic is not near an ESTJ. :)
I’m definitely not an ESTJ ^^
I’ve even had my brain scanned by Dr Dario Nardi if that helps you feel more comfortable with that assessment
