Yes, they look alike but perceive and think about things slightly differently. INFJs seem to me more mathematically logical, more structured, more rigid, also more mysterious in terms of keeping a lot for themselves. While INFPs seem to me more open, direct, more transparent, more directly sensitive, more accommodating. But/And they can live together. :). (Me And my wife too:)) Take care.

In my experience when INFPs and INFJs share their visions for a common goal they can really build on oneanothers ideas and accomplish a lot. But if they leave out parts of their vision because they are afraid to hurt the other person; someone is probably going to get hurt. Sometimes INFPs need to be bold and repeat themselves for INFJs to understand. And INFJs need to learn when INFPs aren't feeling/being heard.

What makes these types have such a deep magical bond? And how does an INTP show and INFP that they are worthy and deserve the attention and affection of an INTP.
Can you also add why INFPs are torn as to if we are INTP or INFP? I know I'm INFP but when I first started learning cognitive functions, I was torn.
It's interesting, I type between INFJ and INFP consistently - I'm always on the border, 51%. I know you can't change your type, so maybe one of my functions is operating slightly higher lol
Could be that you have an affinity with one of them! I've definitely learned to have a better relationship with certain functions due to environment and experience.
Infj see both sides of the coin always interested in the human brain and people. Infp more into ideas and why things are the way they are.
Different brains.
Infp are more into the world that may not exist where Infj are more into why the world is the way it is.
Infj are councillors and psychologists infp are more spiritual and artistic
Love the symbolism and nicknames for each cognitive function...I've been playing around with my own original idea that is similar...the "Cognitive Compass" and how you laid them out visually looked like the NSEW layout if a compass...and like a compass...our Cognitive functions direct and guide us through our lives...really helpful! Infj and infp are not on the same page , both see life through different lenses. Infj more logical based infp are purely based on emotion. Infj psychologist infp spiritual. Infj better with people because they are studying everyone infp are stubborn with their beliefs

I recognized several things from what you said, but what stands out the most is how both types experience the other side's way of thinking as 'wrong', or at least extremely puzzling and strange. But I love having deep debates with INFJ. My gf is one. :)
One very interesting topic that seems to return in our conversations, is that we are both people-focused, yes, but she focusses on the big picture, the group or even lofty ideas such as 'the greater good', 'humanity'. I on the other hand value relationships, from one person to another. I see the trees, she sees the forest. 🌲

@@GeekPsychologyyes, I agree with this person. When you described Fe, I do not feel it resonated for INFJ. Yes, for an ENFJ and especially ESFJ, but what you described being about hierarchy and social norms, that’s Fe with Si. Most INFJ’s I’ve encountered (as well as being one myself), see Fe as caring how other people feel AND IF IT MAKES SENSE (Ni as “truth,” Ti as “accuracy”). So INFJ’s are very Fe but often criticize the status quo because of the artifacts and hypocrisies present in all human-made systems. It’s more about making Fe follow Ni.

I strongly believe I am an (INFP) after taking the myer's personity test. I like watching 👀 😌 these videos because learn so much about different personalities. For my family after watching, I strongly believe I am a (INFP) and I strongly believe my oldest son who is 15, is a (INFJ) it helps me understand his point of view more he is so brilliant. Even through at times like you said earlier on it seems we are on the same page or say the exact same thing just a little different. 🤷 We at times can realize maybe we are talking about something else entirely different sometimes?? I strongly believe my younger son who is 11 years old, is a (INTJ)which is also a very interesting 🤔 💭 relationship and he a comedian but bright too. Thank you for video 📹 ❤ I found it very interesting and somewhat educational. It gives you a different insight on people.Thanks again for the video 📹 take care. Too everyone getting to know their personality, soul searching, more and how there minds work good luck may you find great inner peace ✌, love ❤, and true happiness. As a INFJ (A-50% T-50%)
I understand everything
I’m an INFP but I highly relate more to INFJs. I’m more organized than a typical INFP, I like planning to an extent, yet enjoy spontaneous things. I do subconsciously read other people and their emotions but I’m also self aware of my own emotions. I do have strong morals but I don’t openly disagree with someone. I feel like I have a blend of both but I know it’s impossible, so I need your answers, what am I?
I disagree with the claim that it is impossible to be both personalities, because I actually am both INF types at the same time. I have taken the official test several times, and have tested both ways more than once. No matter who is describing the differences between the two types, I still relate closely with both. I even found a test to help me figure out if I am one type or the other. I tested 49% INFJ and 51% INFP. Then a different day those numbers were flipped.
I love to study these personality types as surprisingly accurate guidelines to help me better understand myself and my interactions with others, but I fully believe that there are a number of people who can't fit quite so neatly into these carefully defined and detailed boxes.
I don't know if this helps you at all, but based on my personal experience and some observations of others, I fully believe that it is entirely possible for us to be a unique blend of two different personality types.
My infj other helps me do the planning while i can connect the dots between ideas. because i just suck at creating a plan.
My mom's an Infj!
When I take the 16 personalities test I always get INFP, but when I take the cognitive function tests my highest functions in order are always Ne - Fi - Ni - Fe. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be like that, where your shadow functions work a lot in the subconscious
I often think "Yes, I am probably INFP." and then an INFP says something like "Every different person has their own import and ways of helping." which is an utter denial of reality that discounts psychopaths and serial killers. Who do have their own values, but they do not help.

I do my best to be one
I am about 50/50 on the INFJ / INFP. What does that mean for me besides confused most of the time??

As an Infj I think this question alone might point towards infp, because it could come from not liking to settle on something but rather keeping options open.
One question I think that can help is if you’re main goal is keeping as much options open as possible or if you’d rather find the best option, also how it makes you feel to (temporarily) step internal values aside for the benefit of the group, that I think comes easier to an Infj
@@aekorfkerthanks, I prefer finding the best option and I'm not that much into exploring new ideas and different points of view. I prefer to analyse the given information and try to fit it in my already created bigger picture, so although I share many traits of an INFP I'm probably not this type. I've almost always tested as INFJ (first time not even knowing about MBTI or cognitive functions) and I can relate to INFJ, so I think, even if I doubt it, this really can be my personality type.
@@NightCloudI yes that very much sounds like an Infj, beside what I read about it I have an infp mother and one of my best friends is an infp and they very much hate to settle on something and keep their options open for as long as possible. (I am an Infj)
I’ve found out recently I am a INFJ the hard part is the Fe. I read people very quick and very well but I have a lot of problems with people pleasing.
Yup. That’s almost always the case. The auxiliary is the difficult part that we have to embrace in order to level up.

They’re not real. They’re just a model for understanding how people work. Just like a picture of a hamburger on a menu isn’t real and you can’t eat it. But you can use it to communicate about the “real thing”.
There is scientific research of brain patterns related to the different personality types though, so in that way, yes, they’re “real”.
Most people just enjoy making memes and using personality type in superficial ways though. Unfortunately.
Wow man I just found u and my wife in the middle of a fight ,because she wouldn’t look at the message , about the type I am ,she took it and I am infp and she is infj,we’ve been through25 years since high school and ,she thinks I am doing one thing and I’m not,she likes to tell me how I’m feeling or what I’m thinking and I’m nowhere in that space it really has caused issues ,and in one 10 min video it all makes since ,like a godsend that k u

No need to be such a fan of Introverted Intuition really. I know everyone hype it so much in the MBTI community because it's probably the most complicated function but it's really not as cool as it seems and it has pretty bad sides too. It often looks like a sort of slight paranoia and makes you pretty pessimistic about everything. That's a sort of awareness that is really difficult to bear in life and extremely difficult to convey. People find it so special just because that's something almost nobody values in modern society and think is just a fantasy. In daily life it makes you always feel neglected.
