I remember this year, I was 15 and I saw Prodigy... ABSOLUTELY F**KING AWESOME
wow what an experience, sounds like you had a great time. crazy festival
Wow! Thanks so much for capturing - great to relive this!
no worries, more here www.webm8.co.uk/riddler/webm8-tv/09-glastonbury_festival.html
Glastonbury 97 was one of the 2 Glastonburys that I did attend (by scaling the fence of course!) - it was one of the last really great Glasto’s despite the boggy conditions because of the rich quality of music across ALL stages, the only bummers that year being the weather and clashing quality band performance times - the fact that I barely remember the weather being a testament to how great the whole event was
music did seem better back then and the bands too.
best year ever lol
wetest
The weekend I found there was many types of mud. Nearly put me off festivals for life
lol so true, crazy year
I see 17 year old me. Front row all day. I think Echo & The Bunnymen we’re on first that day. I’m short and getting round in knee deep mud with giant cord flares and a long leather jacket was not easy. Once I got somewhere, I stayed! 😂
fantastic, bet it was wild. very cool
That mud was horrific

Remember watching prodigy then walking miles to the jazz stage to watch Massive Attack at midnight, good days
always a nightmare having to get from stage to stage, crazy busy
Don’t think I saw a single band I intended was always bogged down other side of the site exploring. Trying to negotiate mud with a flagon of hot cider was a pastime at that thing
prob the best thing to do, dont plan but just go explore
It was a nightmare. But I went back again a few more times. Never paid to get in. Always ran out of money in the first 24 hours. Don’t mix your drugs.
ROFL yes i guess that is true. shame about the weather but i guess it was good fun to look back on now
Wow I was there. 22 years old. Paid £10 each to some guys to get us over the wall with a rope ladder. Good times ✌🏻✊🏻
haha those were the days
Me and my mates made a rope ladder that year the mud fest and charged £10 each and made a nice bit of money. Hope you enjoyed it😁
No phones 📱 in the 90s🥲☺️😁🎵😄
much more fun
I took 10 Es that weekend... Primal Scream and Chemical Brothers...we couldn't find the Prodigy, mind you had seen them a few years before at Tribal Gathering 😂
lol i bet you were mashed and having the best time ever
@webm8 one of the best..🫠

@@discoverydolan5134 what a great guy
Even though it WAS bloody horrible, I'm glad I was there. Radiohead were (or is it 'was') surprising.
glad to hear you survived and had a great time
I was there but totally missed Prodigy as drank too much in the afternoon & was really sick. I was gutted and my boyfriend was furious with me!
That's a bit out of order on his part. Hope he's lightened up a bit.
oh dear, thats not good. hope you saw other bands though
not a phone in sight lol
happy dayys
I was there - my friend had her mobile, but we couldn't be bothered to use those precious minutes!
When glasto was still good.
:)
Was this the one where Phish played at?
