I took my Dad on the Royal Hudson to Squamish in 1995 for his 60th birthday. We asked the Engineer if we could ride back to Vancouver in the cab and he said yes. What a treat that was!! The good old days!!
Half my childhood was spent growing up in Squamish and it was a treat to not only hear but see The Royal Hudson steam into town. I never had a ride on her but she sure made an impact....my last dog, my best buddy I named Hudson :) All 3 are always in my heart - Hudson, Squamish and the Royal Hudson...in that order.
That's cute. I like how she also has a classic diesel-electric 'escort' as well. I remember riding on this great train back in my childhood in the 1990's.
I was working at the station in Kamloops one night when she( royal Hudson) climbed the hill into town. To see the white smoke from her stack as she came up the hill was awesome
Wow, I remember that day down in White Rock. Someone was saying because of issues at the US border, they had to return with the FP7 leading the way rather than the the Royal Hudson (which was supposed to turn around on the US side of the border). Was that what happened? Anyways, looking forward to picking up your video! I wonder I'll spot myself as a movie extra.
Thank you! We do go into details in the movie on why she didn't lead on the return trip. In 2010, we filmed the Royal Hudson going to White Rock as well where shed led both ways. That trip is covered in "Iconic Canadian Steam" ruclips.net/video/HLjZEZQklkY/видео.html
Sorry you don't like the background music! If you follow the link in the description, you can purchase the full video which includes plenty of beautiful steam sounds of the Royal Hudson without any background music. Visit www.elevation-media.ca to purchase the full copy.

You must mean CPR 2816, which is not a Royal Hudson at all, it’s an H-1 class 4-6-4 Hudson built in December 1930.
Was a very nice scenic ride will miss the Royal Hudson
Beautiful music in this preview. For anybody wondering, it’s Dan Phillipson’s “Run to You.”
The F-unit locomotive is impressive as well.
Got to see the Royal Hudson back around 1980 in Calif. Even did a painting of it: www.feightstudios.com/royal.html
I was on that beach once in 2013 at 0:29
I’d love to see any video of the Royal Hudson’s arrival in Winnipeg in 1977 on it’s Cross USA/Canada tour.
What a beauty greetings from UK
Thanks John!
I wish the 2060 is back in action :-(
Why is there a no steam policy....

The Royal Hudson No. 2860 needs to be back on the rails where she belongs! Not stuffed and mounted in a museum!
CAN YOU DO THE FULL MOVIE OF THIS PLEASE
Hi Tim, please visit our website where you can purchase the full movie.
Hi Tim, check out this movie at www.elevation-media.ca
Where is 2:09
Intersection of Carrie Cates CRT and Chesterfield Avenue in Lonsdale (North Vancouver) BC
Identification of this song, please.
It's a shame that she'll probably never run again.
After the 1990s the locomotive vanished
Elijah Trofort what no it didnt
It never did lol
What happened 2860?
Boiler time ran out she needs a 1472 day inspection basically she needs a heavy overhaul!
Steam locomotives make their own music! No need for that annoying music accompaniment!
