Great video! A few things you forgot to mention. The Rogue offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on all trim levels, but the CR-V only offers it on higher trims. Also, most will use CarPlay or Android Auto with their phone, so Nissan's UI isn't that big of a deal, but it has been upgraded since the 2016 models. The Rogue also offers a DVR-like replay feature for SiriusXM, Hondas do not. The Rogue offers knobs and buttons on their stereo, Honda has the awful DisplayAuto stereo with minimal controls. The Rogue offers the all-around camera available on the SV trim, and standard on the SL trim. Honda does not offer an all-around camera on any of their vehicles. The Rogue offers the Bose Premium Audio system available on the SV trim, and standard on the SL trim. Hondas have always had poor sounding audio systems. The Rogue SL has the ProPilot Assist with their intelligent cruise control that will assist with steering and full braking while using cruise control. Also, the Sport and Eco modes are better demonstrated from a dead-stop. The Sport mode improves on the simulated shifting. The Rogue offers a panoramic moonroof, Hondas do not. The Rogue is far more comfortable with their seats than the Honda. Honda has always been behind the 8-ball with the rest of the automotive world with their lack of features. Both are fine vehicles, but Honda needs to catch up with the rest of the industry. You get so much more for your money with the Rogue.
The Muzio family review continues to be a fun way to review a vehicle. It is worth mentioning that the positive family dynamics on display here are a joy too. Happy New Year!
Micah Muzio 😄, Happy New Year. I went to college down south in North Carolina, so among southerners it's common to say hot mess. Though I'm no longer living down south, I still say hot mess from time to time. Your reaction to your friend's question of whether CVTs are the future was hands down hilarious. If you're ever in Rapid City, South Dakota drop me a message and you can review my 2014 VW Jetta.
Hilarious! Evie needs to do her own videos and reviews. Micah, you deserve 10x (100x) more subscribers than you have. Happy New Year, Muzio family. (Evie nailed the car: functional but unremarkable. I rent these and smaller Rogue Sport often. It's "fine". If you never full-throttle accelerate, you won't notice the CVT).
alliejr Thanks for the encouragement! We’re having tons of fun making these videos as a family. I suppose it’s just a matter of time before Evie gets her own wildly successful spinoff channel. If I’m lucky she’ll take me with her. 😁
I rented one of these to drive from Vegas to Grand Canyon. It was ok at best. What little power it had quickly went away with altitude. For many parts of the drive I had to floor it maintain highway speeds.
I have one of these. It’s a nice car. Never had any issues with the car. I have a 2015 SL AWD. Does well off road surprisingly lol. But it was good, I averaged about 28 mpg. Handles well, love the sensors and how it feels on fast hard turns.
Hey babe we're going somewhere...and this is what we're going in...love that it's not too far!! Nissan seems so far behind the "update our products now" they may never catch up!!
CVT ... run away. In truth, I had a 2008 Jeep Patriot with a CVT and a 2.4L 4-banger until 2017. Never had any trouble with it or the engine. Suspension parts ... that's another story. Agree with your description of the CVT operation. It takes a bit to get use to, however, I found that if you want to go you need to set your foot at the right place and leave it there and let the system do its thing. Messing with the throttle only confuses the computer which is reacting to the throttle input. In other words, if you don't know how to drive then sell your car and shred your drivers license.
Had one of these for a rental back in Dec 2017, it was pretty much fresh from the factory...was the middle trim i think. It had the power lift gate etc...it was ok, but the cvt was annoying and I thought it was pretty much under powered. Besides that it rode pretty smooth, the audio system wasn't bad. I wouldn't buy one though.
2021 Rogue looks better than any small suv out there except maybe the new 2021 Tuscon both coming end of the year. So if it gets a turbo engine might be interesting. Looks better than anything out there though.
Another example of Nissan not updating their cars for the past 10 years, Nissan is like a kid in school that takes longer to take and test, and when they finish they are already late, and there is another test
I test drove two of these and had one for a loaner and one of them was one year old with 35,000 miles and it shook at idle pretty hard. And the one I had for a loaner was three years old and the center where the shifter is, was really loose to the point I thought it was gonna break. Also the cvt is annoying.
As I had one for a month while my car was in the shop, I have these comments A) This vehicle fall into the category of "Appliance" , as with most CUV/SUV it drives adequately but would not be considered enjoyable. 2) The seats are good for short journeys but not long ones. Drove from ATL to DC round trip and found the seats uncomfortable after 90min. 3) As with all CVT transmissions it sucks.
Do I got the concept of this Chanel right? One of the best and funniest car reviewer pack his family and friends in to the car, so viewer get Sametime woman's, child and expert point of view and do that in funny and most natural way possible? Amazing concept and works great! Greetings from Finland.
Own an '18 SL AWD fully loaded but that powertrain ruins the SUV. My wife thought this was her dream car so I surprised her with it...she has grown to very much dislike the CVT knocks at slow speeds when removing foot from the accelerator. CVT terribly sucks.
I have a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer with a CVT that doesn't have the fake shift points. I rarely notice it anymore - only when I floor it (which is rarely). It doesn't get driven much only 32K miles and sits in the garage a lot. You get used to anything and now when I drive a rental with a traditional automatic the shift points seem strange to me.
"Hot mess" is definitely something that is still said, or, at least, I still say it. Daily. To describe myself. Also, the Rogue can't sleep with my boyfriend 'cause I don't have one so BAM. I win B)
DMN You are missing something. He was referring to a joke my wife made in the video. More importantly, simply mentioning his lack of a boyfriend doesn’t mean he’s shoving his sexuality down your throat. When people mention the church they attend is that them shoving their religion down my throat? I don’t think so. People should feel free to be who they are without shame.
@@dmn2273 "Why do straight people always need to make it a point that they’re straight?? Stop shoving it down everyone’s throat. We get it!!" Everyone please research before buying any SUV. Speaking as an owner of a 2017 Regal Orange, or whatever it's called, fully loaded and leather interior. If I had just not gave into wife's love of the color and my obsession with Nissan Skyline which I do have an R34. I would have said hell no. As the issue with wife CVT came to a head dealership had my wife crying. That night I was up till 4 am looking at Fleet service manual which you have to find in Europe as this stuff here is impossible to find in North America. The next day I find out, unless there is an actionable error code on their Nissan scan tool they won't do anything. I showed dealership how to recreate the grind and what speeds it occurs. Last time had Service Manager with me and his comment was could be exhaust, sigh. Anyway this was last time taking it there as I also found out they don't have any trouble shooting guide's or system to test car. I find if code is unique they contact Japan and Engineers connect to car and do whatever they do. You're service tech is mostly just a tire and oil guy. Sad, but I assume that is the way at most dealerships now. Since 1999 Nissan quality was slowly then mid 2000's greatly falling. I ill never purchase another CVT vehicle from Nissan I recommend Toyota, then Honda. Also 4 cylinderin a heavy SUV is stupid drinks fuel like water in ECO mode my 10 year old Lancer 4 banger still gets better mileage.
