Well, my girl you fought the battle and won. The fire in your eyes are real. A lawyer always do there diligence and people don't understand that the laws are there in the books but people dont read to take time and fine out the right way of doing things. People rush without due diligence. I am happy you stick with it and came out ahead. Now others can take a lesson from you. Thank you for sharing. Shalom
@@iAmLeslieJones Thanks for clearing that up because based on earlier videos that was the conclusion I drew. Glad you are back. "The Africa we want" needs the input of young black women like you. I’m so frustrated with my build in Ghana too! It’s not for the faint of heart. As an AA senior woman, I have learned you really need a man in Ghana. I should have simply bought a condo!
There ain't no hurdle too high for Leslie. The sound of birds chirping behind you in that morning video. Eyoko for president, love the positive ending.
Praise Yah! HalleluYah! Your diligence is exposing not only the scams, frauds and other distasteful experiences in Ghana, but it's also showing that the system does work, and once the situation gets into the right hands, they will make sure the system works. This encourages me as I prepare to build on the plots I'm securing. And when I saw your interview with More to Dela, I was hoping you would finish the purpose of you investing into those plots; hopefully, hopefully, the "right" that you just experienced will motivate you to continue with your journey in Ghana. And, I hope this puts fear in those not doing right and the consequences will get attention; you have paved the way and documented the process for victims to know what to do! OH, make your vision in Ghana II a reality.
@@iAmLeslieJones you're welcome. I know you know, but you're a trailblazer for "don't BS me!" My visit to Ghana was extremely smooth and I had a successful "setup" for the journey. The goals is to finish paying off the plots and move this month to continue the journey. Hope deferred makes the heart sick and a merry heart is good like medicine. Hopefully you can look back, laugh and get joy and keep sharing your "medicine" with others.
I'm happy for you, Leslie; this has been an exhausting adventure for you. Ghana is all about getting connected to the right people, as you rightly observed. It shouldn't be so, no, but with systems still not as developed as one would like, that's the reality of how things work, unfortunately. Land transactions are particularly messy for a number of reasons and that's why it is never a good idea to rush into one without first understanding the system and having reliable people to guide you. Here's my question to you: with everything you've experienced and shared, do you still want to develop this land in Ghana?
I am happy for you and that you are considering building on the land Leslie. Your hard work paid off. Please help others from the diaspora who are considering purchasing land in Ghana. You can even help Ghanaians to purchase land.

I’ve gone through the same thing in East Lagon. I moved on. But won’t give up for the next purchase. I’ll buy someone’s house, and knock it down for my expectations.
Instead of trying to buy virgin land, next time round to buy a built-up property - hopefully having a trail of paperwork showing ownership - in an attempt to avoid a bait-&-switch. However, that really does not stop some people coming out of the woodwork to claim being the “true” owners. One side of some family sells, & another shows up saying the others were not authorized to sell.

I don't quite understand what your initial goal was for this project. Did you plan on farming, or organizing retreats? Ghana of course already has an agricultural sector. I would be curious to see if you were able to explore how people already living there are making use of land. I'm sure just like with western countries, ghana has environmental problems that go hand in hand with their agricultural sector, I think there would be a lot of room for improvement in making already exisiting land use practices more sustainable. Maybe by looking at their use of chemical fertilisers or pesticides, soil management, irrigation systems, types of crops, or livestock, etc. Anyways I was just curious, not critical. I am an aspiring environmental scientist and plan to use my education for sustainable development of impoverished resource mining or farming communities. Anytime I see people from the west leave to do some type of development in Africa, I am curious about their motivation to do so.
Lands Commission is forging documents?!? So if the lands commission can’t be trusted, how can buyers trust that what they’re getting is legit or that it won’t be taken from them? Will anyone at the Commission be held accountable for this?
