First of, I'm so sorry about all you went through. I'm Ghanaian living abroad. And I know acquiring things like land in Ghana is like playing Russian Roulette - you never know which one will 'finish' you. Like in my sister's case. Her land case is still in court after 3 years or so - she was born and bred in Ghana but still ended up in this situation. The entire system needs overhauling in my opinion. The real estate agencies you can actually trust charge such high prices the average Ghanaian cannot afford. Regarding leaving Ghana, definitely proritise your peace over all else. Ignore all the negative comments. Go where you feel at home! I wish all the very best. Cheers!

@@iAmLeslieJones It's nice to visit, I guess. However, IMO, Gambia is not safe for a single woman, especially if she is accustomed to speaking out against corruption, misogyny, injustice etc. Why a modern woman would want to permanently move to a fourth world country where human rights are not a priority is beyond me. Any place where is it still illegal to be gay will inevitably be troublesome for women who are accustomed to speaking out. Besides, as a foreigner, you have no political input anyway.

@@nobs997They are cleaning up the Zuma/Gupta scandal but the RSA institutions proved they work well... Media and courts stopped them from fully messing up the country. Zuma aside, the South African economy has tripled since Apartheid ended.... Over 90 percent have access to electricity, they have international presence as they are a member of the G20 and now BRICS.
South Africa is definitely not perfect but given they are barely 40 years from the end of Apartheid, things will take time to correct.
In regards to Leslie, she is used to systems and processes being clearly laid out and followed like in America. South Africa has that and she'd do very well there.

Please whatever African country you plan to try next, please join their local association in your respected city. In the case of Ghana, there were several Ghanaian Associations in most major US cities you could have joined before coming. Those relationships with already established Ghanaians that happen to live in the US would have served you immensely when you were here. They understand how you think and understand how some Ghanaians think, further shielding you from the BS. The irony is most of those members of those Association refuse to spend more than 4 weeks out of the year back "home". That topic alone would have enlightened you on whether or not Ghana was in your best interest.

I got family across all 3 continents and even though Ghana is a fun place to live especially when you have good source of income, most of our people are something else. Liars, lazy artisans and crooks. That’s why our politicians are also corrupt. Look at the bad roads, power outages and water shortages yet we have gold, oil and so many natural resources yet Ghana is not developed as we should. The citizenry are just like our political leaders. All they see is money.

My dear baby sister Leslie, an ode from your big Ghanaian brother. Very best wishes with your endeavors. There is a lot to explore so please do so.
You have Ghanaian features it would be tough to believe that you don’t have Ghanaian DNA. Ghana should have been good for you.
Adjusting to Africa and life outside the West is not easy. That said, Ghana is not too bad. It is relatively safer, people of African descent enjoy the right of abode (less visa issues), and even easier citizenship. Ghanaians are also hospitable.
The challenge with the due diligence process of land acquisition is something that needs improvement. Otherwise, it is a true ancestral home.
I think the only mistake I observed from following your channel were two incidents of sensationalism: when you said the KAS guy had laid his hands on you, something Ghanaian culture frowns upon, and your quick broadcast of Ghanaians destroying African American properties in Cape Coast without doing due diligence. You started losing credibility from that point. So, I hope that lesson is well learned. Very best wishes. You are always welcome home.

Which you were not there to even comment on. Regarding the demolition it’s in the courts right now and they paid the victim so he wouldn’t keep talking to the public. Regarding credibility…every step, every video has taken me to the next level within this community and within your own governmental leadership. So “please,I beg.” Remove yourself completely from my page because your misogynistic micro aggression overlayed with a compliment is no longer welcomed.
