The reason why most Ghanaians are stuck abroad is quite simple. Most of them don’t have a solid foundation back home to fall on when they return home. Sad reality. Great woman ❤️

Thanks Madam. This is somebody who is making sense. I just don’t understand the illusion that I heard from many people asking the diaspora to just come back home. It required time and well planning. Africa will not give you free money to survive just like for most of us there is no free money for us in the diaspora. You have to have a reliable job or business before moving back. Thank you for telling the true Madam. Africa or in the diaspora you still have to work. Even as entrepreneurs, you still have to work. You don’t just sleep and wake and have free money.

Tourism initiatives and investment in Nzema, Awowin and Sefwi areas towards Ivory coast should also be given a priority as well. The birth place/town of Nkrumah should be developed to attract visitors. At present most Tourists in Ghana visit Togo. There should be schemes to connect Ghana and Ivory coast. Lots of Ghana's revenue is generated from Western region but Central, Ashanti and Accra gets lion's share. Eastern region especially the Guan areas are neglected by most governments. Let's explore the uniqueness of each region and be equitable in providing resources, developments and employments to the youth in the afore mentioned areas in Ghana. Eg.Housing projects etc for key workers to go and contribute equally to health and wellbeing of inhabitants in those areas. Similarly Koforidua is a demised capital city of Eastern region. Please kindly update me on what the Ghana tourist board/ministry is doing to attract tourists to Koforidua.
Dentaa kindly forward this comment to Katherine for her party to place those less fortunate regions on their TOP priority list. Katherine can be a spokesperson and draw governments attention to this.

I'm thinking of a place for the family to visit...It would be great if local tourism was boosted with a advertising/marketing campaign. Via national TV adverts on Gtv and other channels. Every day feature a different resort Monday Ada Tuesday Mole National park till Sunday with a range of relatable unknown actors i.e family of four, business men. young Adults having great time doing different enticing activities.
Using drone shots brings the advertised place of interest to life. Tried to book a short holiday to other countries in Africa due to the Pandemic this is proving very difficult. Friend mentioned Ada resort and a safari park that I have never been to. If there was an advert showcasing both places I would have more of an excitement to go and easier to convince other members of the family.

As a permanent resident/green cardholder, you can only stay out of America for 6 months at a time and may need to return to to with keep residency status.
However, in the United States the policy is that after TEN YEARS, a permanent resident/green cardholder is eligible for CITIZENSHIP!!!

I did not quite follow both of you. The conversation was too much of talking and not getting to the point. You can still be a Ghanian and be an American. In other words, you can have dual citizenship. Why giving up your American citizenship?. I don't get it. She could leave the US and move to Ghana to live and still retain her US citizenship. If it was a Green card she gave up that I could understand because after certain number of years you are out of the US that is automatically taken away from you or you can give it up yourself, not citizenship!. Of course citizenship is not a right but a privilege that could be taken away from you by the US government for reasons. So, I need to know more.

In Ghana, you can't work in certain public offices while holding dual citizenship, that is why she gave up her US citizenship. I hope this helps.
