Hey angels!
We moved from the UK, Leicester to Marbella in October 2019 and wanted to show you around a little!
We completed on the purchase of our apartment here just a few weeks ago so we are REALLY excited to show you round ❤️ We will be beginning renovations soon - to make this house a home! So we wanted to make sure you saw it all before we did!

Your video just popped up and because like you , we went there for a Holliday last September and absolutely loved it . We have a friend in the UK that has property in Spain and goes there regularly and he put us in touch with his friend who is English and has lived in Spain for 20 years and in real Estate we got together through out friend and picked us up and showed us some property. And we fell in love and went back after lunch and signed papers our friend then put us in touch with a very good lawyer 👌 and recommended us to get a bank account which we did the next day with now are really good friend that showed us the place . Our lawyer got us residency 🙏 and dealt with everything as we were on our way home a couple of days later . Came home put the house up for sale and we move there in 2 weeks . We both sooooo can’t wait . And just watching your video has just shown us yes so excited . 😎Spain he we come . Great video 😘 mags xx

hi!! watching from Spain :) just wanted to share that it is customary in Spain for people to pay a one month (if not two!!) worth of rent to the agency as a fee... I know it's crazy!! love your videos Taayla

Woweeeee gorgeous apartment! I’m moving to Cyprus soon, I have family there but I keep getting really anxious about it. It’s more to do with leaving friends and the lifestyle I’m used to behind... do you ever feel homesick or feel like you have fomo watching friends out etc back home? Lol x

TBF im not 100% sure but Definitely dont pay alot! We wouldn't ever again😂, it makes absolutely zero sense for a person looking to rent to have to pay to rent a property, the person trying to rent it out would pay any fees as they are the person using an estate agents service.
So after speaking to our owner recently (now previous owner), as suspected they had paid the estate agent the fee, and then the estate agent had told us that she hadnt been paid and that we needed to pay as all people looking to rent must pay the fees in spain. And the fees are always 1 month rent.
Our owner (lived in Spain a long time) said that we absolutely should have not paid. So basically this estate agent ended up getting 2 months rent paid to her, 1month from us and 1 month from the owner(which was alot!).
My thoughts are, the lady helped me by actually driving me to several property's as I flew in and had no car, I would certainly have paid a fair amount for that assistance like £100-200 max (as shell make the big fee from us actually renting it out paid from the owner). And I could have easily hired a car for the day and simply drove to them myself so It wasn't a big deal. I think its a big market here in Spain for estate agents to double charge people that don't know for sure as how else are we supposed to know? (and they are extremely firm and convincing).
We have no contract with the estate agent and it isn't our fee to pay. Ive since met friends that said they paid nothing, Ive heard other friends say you can negotiate the fee right down to a small amount. My advice is to be firm and say your not paying anything as the renter pays it. I would always make sure you are in contact with the actually company who is advertising the property, as it turns into even more carnage when you go through one website and they claim to have access to all properties, but what they actually do is take you to a property that some other estate agent are renting out (so they are bringing you to them as a sales lead) and then they actually share the money between them, so at this point you have 2 people interested in getting the most money as they know they have to share it.
Other things to mention are,
long term rent 12 months is the cheapest.
Certain places you can also get 6 months off season rent which is cheap.
You can get 3 months or 6 months peak season rent, which is astronomically high.
we had to put 2 months deposit down and had to pay 3 months rent up front. This varies from owner to owner.
Usually the more expensive the property is the more rent you have to pay up front, such as 3 months, or even 6 months or 12 months! (crazy)
But in general ive seen many properties that are like 2 months deposit and just pay your rent each month as you go.
So yes, good luck , dont pay, or if you do, dont pay alot (maybe 25% of 1month rent max if no other options)
Go directly to the main advertising company only. Even better if its direct to the owner.
Avoid any facebook, whatsapp spanish rental groups etc , as that's what we did and I wouldn't do it again as they are just middle people and need their cut.
