for the bedroom, if feasible you could possibly put like a long rectangular window higher up on the wall instead of the sliding doors to let in that natural light, but it would still give you the option to have shelves below it on the opposite side etc. the high up window would give you that privacy you wanted but still give you enough natural light to brighten up the room during the day
