I love how George says “The biggest battle here is to stop this battle”. It’s simple yet deep.

Terrific interview! I love this film so much, and the two leads did an excellent job of portraying a pair of British soldiers on an urgent assignment. It's gritty and raw, by far the best cinematic depiction of World War One I've ever seen. "1917" and Peter Jackson's groundbreaking documentary "They Shall Not Grow Old" should seriously be watched together.

You can tell Sam Mendes has had up to here with the press interviews. No offense on the part of the interviewer (I thought he was great), but oh how tiring a schedule it must be to promote a film!
