What range? She skips all the high notes she's supposed to be hitting. Yeah. She's 72. And it shows.
What range ? I mean she did a decent job but it’s a far cry from her prime. For nostalgia reasons it was great but if this was someone covering the song there would be a lot of negative comments.

Ann Wilson is a living proof that it is possible to keep the voice healthy and sound awesome all life. Simply the best.
I'm guessing she wasn't much for hard liquor and cocaine. Seems to be the major factor in anyone who is honest about their career.

@@Stefan-Van-der-Pulst Pretty shure it's the original key too. Anyway, even if it would've been something like half step down, she's 72 and has a voice in a great shape here. Many singers stop doing their early songs during their 50s.

She’s cutting some corners - but rightfully so. Shit. She’s 72 and she still sings circles around many women today. Even if she hits 80%, that’s about 60% more than anyone else. She’s pretty damn special.
She still has that voice after all these years. Amazing.
I think her voice was always in this register so it comes very natural to her singing like this, even at this age.

Well she obviously can't reach the higher notes anymore, but at 72 we can't blame her for that.
@@StephLeGratteux The problem is that she's attempting to hit the notes and she needs to lower her register and just belt it. Attempting to hit the high notes is what is destroying the performance.
Well said. She sounds great for 72! Can’t stand the moaners who complain if she doesn’t hit every note perfectly! I watched the full performance and really enjoyed it. Bloody hell many singers much younger than Ann couldn’t pull off this challenging set list.
@@johnr5382 The high notes that she did go for are now right at the edge of her range, so they were a bit strained. But not too bad really. If she didn't go for any high notes you'd complain about that. STFU

Well i was going to comment on her voice not being as strong as i remembered then i realized she is 72 and still rocking, we have been spoiled with an amazing fierce voice, my bad, you are amazing Ann Wilson.

It's great that we can have a "classic" rock band (if there's such a thing) in a metal driven festival, and the crowd is that receptive. Great presentation, the band is tight AF and Ann still rocks.

This is painful to hear. I love Ann Wilson and much respect to her, but she needs to lower her register. It's obvious she is struggling.
There's no reason she can't lower the register and just nail the song all the way through and keep the length of the notes. She gives out way too soon!

The whole band sound and performed absolutely tight. An older lady performing like that live. That was pretty satisfying to watch
Ann has preserved her voice remarkably well.
I can still see my mom (rip) asking the record store in the 80s to find him the 33rpm of heart (that i still have), and he replied that he did not know .... 40 later Ann wilson at Wacken

For anyone expecting a woman of 72 to sing like she is 25-45, lower your expectations and be thankful Ann Wilson is still with us and having fun. Cant stand her inabilities to soar or belt out the notes like she did 10-15 yrs back? Take a hike. Perhaps go listen to a Paul McCartney 2022 video to hear what a person who should no longer be performing sounds like.
What a blessing to still see her performing this day and age. As a kid all the music I listened to was through TV or Radio. I accidentally took my dads ipod shuffle instead of my own, when going to play out with friends. This song comes on whilst I'm bombing down the road on my bike. Never looked back. Introduced an entire world of music for me. 15 years on.

Amazing. Her voice, her unbelievably phenomenal voice, it's still there. I can relate. I too had an ungodly octave range, and time shaves the edges off. Lung capacity, the way flesh stretches, time is unkind to singers, and everybody else.
Young people should take note. Nothing lasts forever. It's an ephemeral existence, for a little while.
