    I just bought this helmet from Revzilla and I love it! Best helmet I've ever owned!

    I had the older version of the helmet and did a tour from Canada to Mexico. The biggest perk of this helmet was the weight.

    Your headset speakers will actually Velcro to the washable liner and there's a precut hole to insert your microphone behind the cheek pads eliminating all wind buffering.

    Normally my head fits tight in XXL helmets, this was almost on the loose side with XL!

    The vents on top don’t work well! If the pads are on, the top vents are blocked by the forehead pads. I was thinking of modifying the black foam to make a tunnel to the head which might compromised safety sadly. If you have a helmet, try it and see if the pads and vents hole line up! It'll block a really good airflow to the head! do let us know if you have any tips to counter it! Thanks!

    I want to replace my old Krios with this Pro but the no speaker pockets is a major turn off :-( I use custom earplugs and I've had helmets before where the speakers then push against your ears thus pressing against the plugs too. Becomes a major headache after 30 mins or so.

      Bento I agree, thats the main reason I want a new helmet is the speakers. So this helmet is a no go for me then.

    I know this is 3yrs after the post but I think you didn't answer some real riding questions. What's the noise level like let's say compared to a Bell MX9 Or similarly priced helmet? What about water ingress? In a good rain how does the Krios Pro stand-up? I currently wear a Bell MX9 with a transitions shield. Is it worth the big $$$ or will I be happy sticking with my MX9? Thanks.

    The helmet is extremely comfortable... The padding nice and soft and the lock-magnetic mechanism is ingenious... The wife picked it up at the dealer to try it on and noticed the extreme light weight... Would like to know how noisy the helmet on the road is and if you can block some of the airflow in wintertime....

    Does anyone know how to remove the filter from the chin vent? I can't seem to figure out the way to remove it. Thx!

    It’s a size large NOT small. I tried a large and was too big. Tried a medium and it fit perfectly. Other than the strap rivets touching my head when putting the helmet on.

    Love the helmet but removing the shield is a major bummer!

    Can I change size by changing the liner? The Krios pro I have now is size S which is bit too tight. I wonder if there was a way to put thinner liner to make more space inside

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 месяцев назад

      You can swap the standard 25mm cheek pads to their 20mm option, and add the MD's top liner as well. However, most helmets break in about 10-15% in the first month of use (especially with ADV helmets being used off-road). So it might be good to see if it breaks in for you first, and if not then you can proceed to swap the interior.

    Why wouldn't the cheek pads have snap-ins? Velcro always fails.

    • @naioti

      my same thought!
      Plus for a $700 lid I would want those nice magnetic cheek pads even. Great looking helmet though

    I normally wear a medium and it was way too tight! Had to return and re-order a large. The large is too big 😢

    Transitions tech is nice, but on the Krios it's stupid. The peak puts shade on your shield but not evenly so you'll end up with dark and light spots. That's why I used mine for 5 minutes and then put the regular clear one back on.

    • @stopper90004
      @stopper90004 5 лет назад +3

      But you don't need the peak if the entire shield goes dark evenly without a peak... Surely Peaks are only relevant if you don't have alternative sun blocking mechanisms

    Which is quieter at high speed, the Pro or the older Krios?

      Honestly, both are about the same, which is to say they're pretty average for noise. -DrewZilla

    Do you really want giant cut outs that'll let rain in? On a dirt bike that won't be a problem due to you likely wont care. But if I'm spending $700 on a helmet it'll be my only helmet, and I don't want my head getting soaked during a rainstorm because of giant holes. As you said, that's a huge nitpick. So huge that I don't even think its reasonable

      Personally, I would've preferred to have the additional vents with some sort of plastic rain cover over top that we've seen from many other companies in the past. That would be the best of both worlds; allowing the Koroyd to function fully (ventilation-wise) while keeping the rain out for those touring around in all weather conditions. Essentially, all helmet vents are just drilled holes in the shell with a plastic cover over top. That would've have really been a full step up from the regular Krios, but I also think that would've made the price jump even higher as they would've had to R&D and test the new shell instead of using an existing one. Solid point though.

    Not sure about the fastener? I have the Krios and find the visor removal a bit of a pain. My main question is.. is the first setting when lifting the visor still the same gap?.... let me explain. On my Krios if I want to ride with the visor open to let in a bit more air the gap on first setting is around 2 inches (to much) have they reduced this gap on the new one? Anyway, love the Koroyd addition, looks great.

    Nope, will stick with my Krios. Not worth the extra for a '90's style chin vent, the transition lens and fastening system I don't even want. Who the hell has difficulty undoing a D ring strap with gloves on???????????

    How are they charging the same price for a 5 year old helmet? lol stay clear

  • @jweavejo1
    @jweavejo1 8 месяцев назад

    This is a $800 helmet after taxes. You would expect perfection in all aspects and it's almost there BUT the visor will NOT stay where you place it. Open it up a few notches for extra air, first little dip or bump in the road and SLAM down it comes! I love everything about this helmet except the hinge plates. They are very cheaply made. It makes me wonder if anyone that actually rides tests them?? It is a $800 helmet WT Actual F?!

    • @patrickmchugh8039
      @patrickmchugh8039 8 месяцев назад

      Yeah, the detents are a common complaint on the Krios. Unless the shield is in the completely upright position, they just aren't stout enough to stay in place. But, that's likely something Klim will update since the Krios has remained relatively unchanged for 7-8 years now (outside of the Koroyd / Pro update). Make sense though, since the detents are just little nubs on the shield versus an actual pivot / spring loaded / shield system from any other modern day helmet on the market.

  • @CmdrTigerKing

    $800 ? how? You can buy a helmet for $50 that passes the same safety regulations
