The problem with Klim isn't the quality alone, it's the inconsistency. Tried to make a warranty claim on a pair of their gloves, and my first batch of photos was rejected because they were too "low quality", and the 2nd batch was rejected because the quality was too high, leading to the file size being too large for their system. My Klim pants have held up wonderfully, and my 3 pairs of different Klim gloves have all been trash, with serious quality issues (especially regarding stitching, seams falling apart while exclusively road riding) Thank you for the in depth review, this is one of the helmets I'm considering currently
The deal breaker is that Klim helmets only carry TWO helmet shell sizes. Small to Medium and Large to XXL. I bought the previous Klim Krios size Large. I looked like a bobble head.... I really like the light weight and style, but had moved on to different brand with more shell sizes.
This was a good review, it has been a great helmet for me, but I've had a couple of issues. I went on a road trip to Mexico and didn't bring the peak blanking panel things so had to keep it on. After being on the highway all day around 80 mph, there was some pretty high pressure on the front of my head from where the EPS foam cuts off, it actually left a bit of a welt in my head and was super uncomfortable. I eventually stuffed a paper towel below the head liner and it mostly fixed the issue. This was my fault for not being able to take the peak off and being on the highway for so long. Another thing is I can't get the chin curtain to seat properly after taking the cheekpads out. I can't fully seat the little tabs that go between the EPS layer and the shell itself, perhaps with some fiddling I can get them closer, but isn't a deal breaker. Again those are minor issues, I'm generally happy with it - in fact I bought another one after I crashed in my first one a few weeks ago. The lighter weight makes more of a difference to me since I have my Sena and a GoPro on it so the lower base weight makes a big difference.
i got a quite a long oval head and often have problems with forehead pressure or the sides being to loose, so finding good fitting helmets for me is pure hell. This helmet however fit like it was tailored for me, and I do feel like its alot more quiet than my old 503 xlite. I dont ride any adv (yet) mostly sportbikes and the helmet fits that purpose for me perfectly.
I'm glad that you posted this info. I have the same forehead pressure issue and a lot of helmets just do not work for me. I have been giving this helmet a hard look for the last six months or so, but I was concerned about the fit. Thanks!
I daily the previous version of this helmet and have for the past three years. One of the worst premium helmets I've ever owned. The fid lock keeps wanting to come loose and its a pain to retighten. The face shield doesn't fully seal at the bottom and lets fine dust flow straight towards my eyes. The liner always wants to work itself out but that might be me not putting it back in right. Love the koroyd and transitions shield. If they fixed the face shield in this version then thats great. I'm getting something else though when this helmet times out in two more years.
Why do I never hear on reviews about helmets keeping bugs out ? It’s great having vents but what is there to stop insects getting into your helmet ..riding along and all of a sudden you have something crawling in your hair ..vents should have some sort of mesh barrier to help stop this
I agree with your review it is slightly more noisey thank my tour4 I made the change as someone with a big head I use 2XL &tour 5 doesn’t come in 2XL anymore 🤬. I love this Krios the sun on a up to down visor only takes a few seconds to alter so not a real issue for me . Overall it’s a 9/10 helmet imo so glad I payed out for one
Just purchased a blue colored scheme sized XL weight around 1480... Tested fitment and it was good.. Using it for daily road to work commute and realised whenever I remove it from my head it kind of like pulling my ears and feels like a 7 years old school naughty boy being pull by angry history teacher... Did you all had the same issue?
I use a balaclava all the time, once you get used to it you never wear your helmet without a balaclava again. I really recommend if you have that kind of issue.
Please let me know at what time in the video as there's different clips in use. The majority of our clips (where it's me in the shot) are wearing the Badlands Pro pants. Thanks - Andrew
Only issue i find is the visor detents are weak or none at all.. mines never could be held in the open position... maybe slow speeds but hwy speeds can't even have it in the crack position. Other then that.. awesome helmet
Very subjective, but not 'quiet'. That's a trade off for the large weight saving. However, if you're using this for, say, a TET style adventure with off road and slow scenic roads then the sound simply won't be an issue at those speeds. If for mainly A road / Motorway touring then you'd possibly want a quieter helmet. - Andrew
I wanted to buy the Arai X5 tour or the Klim Krios Pro but went with the Touratech Aventuro Carbon 2 instead because it's lighter and more premium than both the Klim and Arai
Touratech's clothing is usually just their logo on another brand's product. In this case it's the Nexx XD1 but with a carbon shell. The weight of the Touratech is 1330 in the M and L shell, so heavier than the Klim. It's also only 22.05 approved, the helmets I reference are 22.06 the newer, higher standard. Andrew
@@AdventureRiderMoto Touratech/Nexx have a new helmet Carbon Pro/Xwed 3 with 22.06 standard, a bit heavy then Klim but also have a safety release feature that you don't have on that, internal sun shade, if you have more features it will be more heavy.
This helmet is a joke...its made in China by a company called Nishua for Klim i think. U can buy one for 1/4 of the price ,u are paying for the visor and some minor cosmetic changes and ofc the Klim badge.
Would you say that this helmet is light weight? Jokes aside, not sure if you rode with it but you can't crack open the visor like most helmets, that's a huge oversight.
Haha, maybe I forgot to mention! Regarding the visor mechanism, I didn't notice it as everything seemed fine to me so I asked one of my friends who is an off road instructor and uses it all day and he says his does not suffer this issue and he can ride with it cracked open just fine. As you say it would be an odd oversight, so hopefully it's not universally the case.
Had one, used it 1 season, not so bad, not at all the right price! Only 2 shells and foam are dead after 1 month so helmet no more at all the right size. You can buy new foam, when you see the price you don't. No space for intercom speakers. So buy half price other helmets for REAL helmet manufacturers

Is there a difference between the Klim Krios Pro and the Klim Krios Pro Rally version? Or they r the same helmet? Great review n video thank u
Thanks for the review. I just ordered one in this colour. Let’s see …

Andrew - so are the new transitions visor stronger than the one's fitted to the older helmets? If so can they be retrofitted?
Great rewiev. Had the Krios for about 3 Months, it it is too loud. Sold it and got a X4 lel

Expensive, I think that for less money you can find a better helmet, it pays breny...
I will never buy a helmet without intergrated sunvisor
I can't say that I won't buy a helmet without an integrated visor, but they sure are nice to have!

Arai made in Japan 🇯🇵 with passion and pride 🤷🏻
Yeah...by Nishua in China...one of the most overpriced and worst helmet u can buy.

schubert with opening chin, never helmet like this
Yes! Modular helmets have spoiled me.
