Great to see such a comprehensive review. Most shops just unpack these helmets and call this a review. After watching, you basically still don't know which one to buy. It's obvious that your approach takes time, but it helps a lot in making a good buying decision. Thanks on behalf of all riders that appreciate these in-depth tests!
Interesting to see the E2 remain in the top 5. I’ve always wondered what makes this helmet so special but in terms of features it’s just so packed. Thanks for this in-depth review guys. I really appreciate the effort!
From watching 7 reviews fully LS2 explorer seems like a nice buy, cheap price and good comfort etc.... But it does not last past 2500kms... Screws unscrew themselves and the visor gets jammes. That one is a no go
I honestly was about to give up on mine since it was too tight glad I gave it a chance and removed some of the removable paddings and it's confortable now, I still dislike its peak as it shakes but it can be solved with taller windscreen, thinking of getting another one of the premium colorways ours don't come with the pinlock inserts though :/.
I have the same one, I am not impressed, I think the mic was not correctly fitted when testing, this helmet makes terrible noise if you turn your head with visor open, you hear the wind rush around the shell inner through the sun visor opening. Also the sun visor keeps jamming. in all I would save my money buy something else. I tried to place a negative review but the website just did not work right i tried numerous times.
@@juanfelipearango2029will stick with krios pro then, just ordered another arai tx5 since there's no custom tax for the japanese version 20% cheaper too, the klim custom fee was just too much for me to buy another 😢.
As someone who owns a Schuberth C5 (very similar to the E2) and a Nexx X.Wed.3 I am very surprised to see these results. The Nexx is much better in ventilation in my experience, especially given it has 7 Inports (Vs 3 on the Schuberth) and its more lose on the neck and chin while the schuberth is very tight which even helps with soundproof. Are you guys sure you tested both with vents open? Also, were you using the correct mouth filter (the winter one blocks airflow)?
@@Championhelmets always the same rider and same bike? as seating position and windshield, highly impact´s on this test, also on the features i´m wondering as the X.WED3 comes with such a big box on Accessories such as action cam mounts (3) Visor mechanics Covers, also it has the FRS and Crashbumpers.. for me its a surprise to see the HJC with higher ranking on the features.
How well the upper ventilation works is generally what matters most. Passive ventilation below the area where air is directed on most adventure bikes can only do so much.
Ls2 explorer carbon is so tight for my head size gave it away, arai xd5 was too almost gave up but took some of the removable paddings and it's comfortable now (neat design), meanwhile the krios pro was comfortable out of the box.
I can't understand how you got only 96 db of noise level in the LS2 Explorer Carbon. Everyone says that it's a super noisy helmet, I received the non-carbon version a few weeks back and it was indeed extremely noisy due to the peak being so flimsy. Sent the LS2 back after a few days due to: the extremely bulky outer shell compared to its competitors (it's absolutely huge), very annoying wind buffeting noise above 60km/h due to terrible peak design, and not enough space in lining to install communication system properly. The Scorpion ADF-9000 fixed all those issues for me plus the build quality is much better. At the end of the day it is all subjective and up to personal preference, in my humble opinion the LS2 Explorer is a decent entry level adventure helmet but if you can find the ADF-9000 for around 300 EUR then you can't go wrong with it. Unless you want to splurge the big bucks on the Klim Krios Pro or Arai Tour X-5. By the way thank you for all the effort you put into creating the most comprehensive helmet reviews out there, much appreciated.
I have the 3 you mentioned, and agree with ls2 explorer carbon pretty huge that i had to cram it in my top box to fit just awful peak design, it's also too tight for my correct size, same with arai but since the xd5 have removable pads that solved it, best of the 3 for me is the krios pro comfortable out of the box love the fidlock and transitions lense, also quieter and peak doesn't shake much than my arai. This channel helped me buy the helmets but LS2 is eating dust unused right now, even my wife doesn't want to wear it because it's uncomfortable.
@@metalsadman Glad to hear you had a similar experience. I'm amazed that not a single reviewer talks about how massively bulky and noisy the LS2 Explorer really is and all of the other cons of that helmet. The Klim Krios Pro is an awesome helmet according to all the research I've done, glad to hear you're enjoying yours. Keep an eye out for the new 2025 Leatt ADV 8.5, apparently that thing is incredible as well.
@BeatPatrol88 Nothing yet. I think i will go for a simple and modest ARAI Quantic. Beyond perfect, majestic fit, materials and feel, ultra small shell, aerodynamic. Tried the Tour X5 and it was awful too. Huge shell (even without a dual visor), and i could not even find a size. M was huge, S was digging in the forehead. In Quantic i fit between S and XS and even the XS is not digging... Tour X5 is a complete disaster, cannot fathom why ARAI has it in their lineup. ARAI forever if i exclude the X5.
Ventilation is such a stupid category to consider. When the weather is cold you actually benefit from a warmer helmet and when it's hot you open the visor!, wear goggles, or pull the sun visor down.
It really depends on where you live I believe. In Europe winters are wet and summers dry but here in Asia it’s the opposite. Even when it’s hot sometimes you still need to close the visor because it’s raining (monsoon period) or there is stuff flying in your helmet and so that’s when you want a well-ventilated helmet.
@@metalsadman well, after a couple of weeks with this exact helmet I can tell you it's draftier than I'd like it to be in Greek (urban) winter. So I don't know what he's talking about.
Very surprised to see the nexx x.wed 3 at the bottom of this list. It was on my shortlist of scorpion adf-900, x.wed 3 and schuberth e2. I purchased the schuberth.

Where is the AIROH Commander II ?
This channel really has the best comparison reviews, what a top job! The choice is tough, it's close. Thanks
Where is Airoh Commander 2 carbon?
Amazing review guys one again keep the wonderful work up!
great video! thank you all
Excellent unbiased review!
Best comparison I've seen. Facts over opinions.
Really enjoy this format, keep 'em coming 🔥
Thank you for this video!
Great review 👍

Fantastic, thanks for sharing.
Why did you not test the LEATT 9.5 ADV Helmet.

LEATT 9.5 and 8.5 ADV helmets? Any feedback? Not on the list here or was there no review sample supplied.
Love this💪

Same with the more expensive carbon version? I think it has a different mounting system?
As an owner of the tour x-5, I was not surprised to see it at the top of the list!
Of course it is. That's the one YOU bought.

I like that HJC helmets are always made to accommodate eyeglasses. Arai are good also but cost a lot more.
I own an LS2 Explorer. I wanted a quieter adventure helmet. I skipped to the sound test. I dont know if Im happy or sad.

So basically the new klim is heavier, louder, hotter and more expensive than the old klim.....LOL
Uglier too, will stick with krios pro, i hope the incoming leatt 9.5 adv will be as light as the krios pro.
@metalsadman as far as I've seen, it weights around 1550-1600 gr, so still kind of heavy :(

Positive. We tested them extensively with professional measurement equipement, so yes we're sure.

At least in Norway the auto tint visor and pin lock is standard in the box for Klim Krios Pro. Not a feature?
It isn't on their x1 alpha? Looks like leatt 8.5/9.5 adv will take my money then.
What about the vibration of the shield?! Which one is the voice? I am riding a Klim Krios Pro, and I am not happy with it...

yes i use Cardo JBL speakers

No Leatt ADV !!!??? I think it will be in the top if you guys add it to the test..
Why is Tour X5 so expensive? Because of a peak? It should be 500 to 600€, in par of similar Arais. I think they just over charge rich adv riders.
