There are some people who are just born to sing, and I think Dimash is just that. I've never seen someone who has both the artistry and the technique on top of his natural gift. I feel like looking back, our generation will be able to say "yeah, I was alive when Dimash sang" the same way that people remember the Beatles or Elvis. He's not just a "once in a lifetime" talent, I think. He may be the only person who ever has that perfect combination of range, artistry, work ethic and global stardom.

I am a trained classical vocalist and the first time I heard him, I just threw my hands up and branded him as simply the best vocal performer going today.

This is the festival "New Wave" in Sochi (Russia). There was a competition of young performers and concerts of Russian artists. Dimash acted as a guest at the jubilee concert of the Kazakh group "A-studio".
Baigali Serkebaev - the author of the song - plays the piano here.
It was a phenomenal performance! Superb low notes at the beginning, unreal high notes at the end. And again the oriental tones in the song!
Melismа in the finale together with the last "Дай" - 23 seconds!
Dimash used kazakh singing technique. Saha people ( Russia) uses this technique too.

Totally agree. By the way, everyone is suggesting you these two or three songs right now. But it doesn’t mean that there aren’t any other beautiful songs in his repertoire. We don’t want to confuse you with dozens of different suggestions. After first Top5 (SOS, Sinful Passion, Love is like a dream, Ogni Pietra, Know) you definitely should watch his trio with Lara Fabian and Aida Garifullina Ti Amo Cosi and another masterpiece Passione. Of course I’d suggest to listen to his beautiful Kazakh songs - Daididau, Unforgettable Day, Makhabbat ber magan - are the most important ones. This is my personal Top10 list, but you’ll find a lot of different suggestions from other Dears (so he calls his fans). And Late Autumn of course! How could I forget this epic song!

He does those two songs ONLY in lip-sync. Just like this video, Sinfull passion. Pure lip-sync. They are too hard and he doesn't dare to do them live for some reason. Before you start bashing me, listen carefully to all recordings you can find online. They are all the same. The singing track is a audio file and they keep using the same one.

Omgoodness, Dimash is an international superstar! He is absolutely phenomenal! He doesn’t compete in competitions anymore. He’s been very busy winning numerous award, putting out new music and touring the world! He just did his first solo concert in the USA in New York December 10th and he was amazing as always! There is so much more to watch and he will never fail to blow you away! I’ve been a fan since hearing his first performance of “SOS” on the Singer competition in China in 2017 and I haven’t been able to go a day without listening to him! He’s not only the greatest vocalist in the world but he’s also a very talented songwriter, composer & multi instrumentalists, sings in over 13 languages, is an incredible performer but to top it all off he’s a truly kind, humble, well mannered and very intelligent young man! Did I mention how handsome he is? Lol 😂 I look forward to watching your journey of becoming Dimashified!

Jane S. The band’s name is A’Studio and the pianist is its founder and composer - Baigali Serkebayev. They are from Kazakhstan as well, but very popular in Russia for last 35 years.

I was in his solo concert in Brooklyn last week and what can I say? Listening to him live is a roller coaster of emotions! His voice live is as amazing or more than you can perceive in the videos. He is a VOCAL GENIUS! It was absolutely fantastic from the beginning to the last minute. He gives it all on the stage and he’s such a sweet humble young man ... a great human being 🥰

Wow, no one else has ever noticed how he change his dynamic so subtly on some of those early soft phrases. No one certainly ever noticed the reverb at the end of one of those early phrases. You're wonderful.
Really he is phenomenal, one of a kind. In his country, in Russia, Belarus and in all Asian he officially recognized as the best vocalist, now he is conquering Europe and USA. He is very famous all over the world! He is from Kazakhstan. He sings 12 languages. He is 25 years old, his height is 191 cm (6'.3''). Dimash has a unique voice of 6 octaves, and with fantastic technique, no one can do that in live. His voice takes the whole row of the piano and another note. .He can plays in 7 differents instruments too, compose the songs...Actually he can sing every direction of music- Classic,folk, pop,rock even rap. I advise you next react Ogni Pietra( Italian song). This song written special for him, you will surprise.

Hello! So i never comment in any dimash thing, nor am i in any Dimash group. I silently enjoy his music but i recently had the chance going to his concert in NYC just by pure accident (i was in NYC on vacation. The show happened to be there, i decided to join) and i was just sitting there shaking my head wondering how its possible that we didnt make mistakes. I mean, i really listened for playback or lipsync (kinda hoping it wasnt real, honestly) but he really was singing. Needles to say, i had shivers the entire time. I heard from people there that hes having a concert on the 19th if march in Hamburg (not sure if thats the correct city) but i live in the Netherlands and considering going. His voice life really is an astonishing thing. Much love!

Welcome to the world of Dimash! Dears are sticklers for specific versions of Dimash performances as there are a number of videos out there that are of poor quality. STAY AWAY from anything related to the American tv show "The World's Best" as their editing was horrible. Nina, you can soon watch the whole ARNAU concert on the Dimash youtube channel ( the concert was held in New York at the Barcley Center on December 10, 2019), The concert lasted almost three hours and the entire arena was fully booked !

What an excellent analysis!! Thank you! I had chills from your reaction to his downwards run in the end. Did you also notice how it's a pentatonic run? Super hard to do pitch perfect!!! Also, his mixed belt there peaked at a Bb5, it's so INSANELY high for a mixed voice, even for female singers!!
I so strongly recommend "Ogni Pietra" from his Arnau concert!! It's an amazing song written for Dimash's immense skill and his Arnau performance to me stands out not just because of his vocals, but also because of his stage presence and the arrangement of the instruments!!
One important note on this song: Many people request the fancam version of that performance, because you can see Dimash's close-up all the time, but the sound is not good, you will be missing out a bit. I recommend the following video, as it has the official video's HD sound, and it also has the combined fancam footage anyway, so you won't be missing the close-up (which is super important for his technique on this song). I really enjoy your reactions, Nina. I am fellow reactor and classically trained vocalist and I too love Dimash. He is just incredible! As I'm sure others mentioned that musical phrase with all the high notes and runs is around 24 seconds long! You really do know your stuff and you're a pleasure to watch. Best of luck with your career and your channel.
You are watchin one of his newer performances. I would recommend you start going back to 2017 Singer Competition because you see a full range of his potential there.. that's how we older dears had followed through week after week. He was not so famous back then, not as good in English and didn't even know Chinese back then.
You'll be able to see his growth over the past 2.5 years.
His song in Episode 2 is a must not miss because he vowed never perform that song again after a legal issue. If you have not heard Vitas (original singer) version, check that out first before you listen to Dimash. The way Dimash Dimashifies songs awesome.

The piece was written by the keyboard player, for the band he was in.

I genuinely feel sorry for vocal coaches reacting to Dimash. How can anyone listening to him find fault. Pitch perfect, crystal clear notes, a huge vocal range, and vocal techniques you'd give your right arm for. He is one of a kind. I still find it incredible that someone as talented as him, is simply unknown in certain parts of the world. His talent should be celebrated throughout the world. Simply put, he's hands down, the best singer in the world ever. I'm so glad you've finally discovered the wonderful world of Dimash. I'm so looking forward to your next Dimash reaction Nina. Basically the only criticisms I've heard against him have been regarding his pronunciation (which is nothing considering the number of languages he sings in) and considering the progress he's made with english in just two years I doubt even that will last long.
That thing where he goes from the highest note possible, and then immediately comes back down low, he does the same thing on a more recent song called "passione". I seem to be the only person who seems impressed by that! I think you will be too. I mean it it happened so suddenly with no preparation!

The highest note I ever heard him hit was a D8.....in the Gakku concert, he is so good and unbelievable performer. He just did a show recently in New York on December 10th, and it was awesome.

I didn’t think about that before, but it is the same thing with “Love is Like a Dream”! It’s like they were written for him and just waiting until he was ready to perform them! And he takes them to another level...he changes them and adds parts to them that were never in the original. He is a genius!
