I realized this when I was pushing and came up against a german BB that was sidescraping, going back and forth into a wall, then reversing, repeating this. Everytime I shot him (aiming midship both vertically and horizontally) when he was moving forward: I hit most of my shells. Everyime I shot him when he was moving backwards: All shells fell short. Looking at the circle on the minimap it seems to have roughly 3 'states' -> 1: In-line with the target (waterline); 2: On your side of the target icon (shells will fall short); 3: Nudged away from you at the target (shells will hit midships/superstructure). Keep that in mind when aiming. Edit: Case in point, the enemy carrier in the video. I highly suspect that the circle and aim being in state 2 is connected to the fact that the carrier was angled and reversing. Edit 2: Further case in point: Those misses from the enemy Kongo at 07:55 while Yuro was angled and reversing.

@@keith6371 I know. You're the reason why no other player should feel bad about playing any so-called OP ship: CV's are the REAL asscancer in the game. 👍
Yeah, I remember Yuro demostrating how to nuke the enemy CV in under 90 seconds. It was truly glorious! So much salt in the ones he showed as well. So satisfying. The auto aim is the dead hand of Stalin guiding the shells but they accidentally added it to all nations rather than just Russia. It is very handy when you can't get a proper visual on something as it's behind an island though.
It amazing how close the match was and the fact that without Yamamotos reload buff it would have been lost. By the time his final salvo hit the point counter hit 997, so if the shells had been just a second longer in the air or had the reload been thet tiny bit longer, the game would have been lost.
If EITHER of those BB's had simply sailed away or dropped anchor and threw out fishing poles behind and island, the game would have been done. I would imagine that team chat had some fascinating conversations going on.
why i love the kongo. the only low tier ship that has such a far range, allowing you to sit so far away, that you may get detected, but the only thing that can hit you is a carrier. it may be extremely inaccurate, but when the guns hit, they hurt, alot. i was so happy when i randomly got an email saying i won the arp kongo after one of the events. granted, at first i thought it was a fake email, but after some research, i found it was a real email from one of the devs, they just for whatever reason used what i believe was their personal email
The automatic aiming feature takes into account the dispersion modifiers of the target's camo and skills, while shooting without the automatic aiming system, the game calculates the natural dispersion of your gun. You can verify this by comparing the shots against camos that don't give any dispersion modifiers and you'll see that the automatic aiming is better than the shots with out it.
Having just watched Flambass latest 310k dmg Thunderer video (19/04/21 ish) I find his name change to be most apt... gave me a darn good chuckle. Keep on Truckin' Jingles (and Yuro)
Ah yes the ARP Kongo taking a shot at the armor belt of an angled ship and bouncing like it should. It's firing into 25mm of armor belt with 356mm guns. You know armor that is supposed to bounce shells 358mm and smaller. Great clip to show that the player being shown got impatient and took his shot WAY to early. The next 2 shots were the same deal, it took him 4 shots to actually get around to the broadside of the reversing CV.
They didn't just have to do nothing. Yuro's kill occurred when the enemy team was at 997 points! One more click of points from a cap circle, and the enemy would have won!
I experience the same exact thing. The game likes to protect people that either goes backwards or are completely in a halt. I just can't hit them when they are not moving. And this happens multiple consecutive times. They start moving, and THEN I see the hits and cits. It's not just you, Jingles.
The Kongo. My first 'proper' battleship in WoWS, and even though I haven't played for years, still my favourite battleship. Fast, good range, and a looker, too.Armor? Eh, can't have everything.
The shot accuracy is also a thing in world of tanks with artillery . Your shells seem to magically hit what you aim for when you are firing blind compared to firing at a specific target.

the autocorrection of aim is quite an old thing, it first was discovered when RUclipsrs noticed that when watching their own replay back and their aim looked different from the live play. It was back then already discovered that the aim gets corrected in the vertical axis by quite a lot. 2: On your side of the target icon (shells will fall short);
3: Nudged away from you at the target (shells will hit midships/superstructure).
Kongo from Arpeggio of Blue Steel is one of my favorite anime antagonists. She is so well written.
I love the Thunderer, and the more it pisses people off, the more I will play it, to the point of excluding all other. I used to use AP mostly, but since it upsets so many people, I will switch to HE exclusively. I also encourage every other Thunderer owner to do the same, until morale improves.
Absolutely, My MVR loves your thunder, only t10 Bb I can get a citadel hit every time I drop my AP bomb, yes, more thunder I say. FDR also loves thunder, but FDR loves all t10 Bb equally
14:17 the only clip you need to watch in this entire show.
Ah the sky janitors doing their jobs! over 100 aircraft and 2 carriers sunk.... man fun for the entire family!
They didn't just have to do nothing. Yuro's kill occurred when the enemy team was at 997 points! One more click of points from a cap circle, and the enemy would have won!
2:00 Now now, Jingles. We know you better than that.
"Dude, what are you doing?" made me laugh my ass off here. Well played Yuro, and thanks Jingles.
I experience the same exact thing. The game likes to protect people that either goes backwards or are completely in a halt. I just can't hit them when they are not moving. And this happens multiple consecutive times. They start moving, and THEN I see the hits and cits. It's not just you, Jingles.
True. More than often standing still targets are harder to hit. Shells everywhere just like there was no lock on.
Watashiwa Kongou! Love the ship, love the Commander, love the anime, hate we don't have the shield and the Super Gravity Cannon but well... :D
I remember the Squire video where Jingles rammed the Tirpitz with Campletown and said "Get ready for some surprise" *Boom*
Have you always been able to see the muzzle flashes from the AA guns in this game? I just noticed it, and I know that they’ve been adding stuff (like parachutes for pilots shot down).
It came in in 10.2 I think.
@@EvoraGT430 Well, wherever it came from, it’s gorgeous.
@@LOVEMUFFIN_official Wait until you see one of the American Light Cruisers T8+ going, it's a very pretty light show.
@@Stephen__White That’s where I’m headed, so I can’t wait! We often complain about the new game mechanics and such, but I am always blown away by just how gorgeous this game has become over the years.
@@LOVEMUFFIN_official I hope you enjoy them, :) The lower tier ones might also look good I just don't have any under T8 anymore. haha
Yuro aka *Weeb Admiral that everyone loves*
Meanwhile the mega weeb all the way at the bottom, In the Houshou, Marine.
4 kongos, 5 myokos and 2 atago. And a whole shit load of captain, got everything except the hiei
The carrier thing: 899 Squadron.
T8 Carrier - Graf Zeppelin (for some good reason)
T9 BB x2 - Musashi (range, gun calibre, spotter aircraft)
Graf spots enemy CV and just buzzes around. Weebsashi delivers the good news from the other side of the map.
1:50 ... *sigh* Must I? ... I must!
* 4 ARP versions of the Kongo: Kongo, Hiei, Haruna, and Kirishima.
* 4 ARP versions of the Myoko: Myoko, Ashigara, Haguro, and Nachi.
* 1 ARP version of the Atago: Takao
You are most welcome :-)
*shotgun cocks in the distance* BACK TO THE SALTMINES WITH YOU
Heheheh. At 13:17 below the A cap symbol is a little parachute with a pilot. Presumably from the airframe shot down just a few seconds earlier.
I have never seen this before.
dude this guy is so funny when he laugh
jingles you get my sub
ARP Ships
4x Kongo class
4x Myoko class
1x Takao class
(only 1st collab collection)
quite a lot of ships for free, goog old times
ARP yamato.
@@EvoraGT430 I mention only ships from 1st collab, we will probably get I-401 when submarines will be a thing
Jingles, right as usual. Winning harder, doesn't work out.
That is a carry of epic proportions.
who needs allies when you have enemies like these
Sounds like a Jingles video title-
@@DiagonalByte heh thanks =D
That was a close one. And great title
the anim is awsom well worth the look
"Caps'n Kills" might actually be a decent clan name.
Jingles blaming aircraft carriers when Yuro just poorly aimed that salvo, straight into the belt of a heavily angled ship.
But don't you know that shouldn't matter because it's a CV, they are supposed to just explode the moment you spot them. I don't hate Jingles but god dam does his constant hatred of CVs get annoying. It's like the "HE is OP!" crowd but with less of a leg to stand on.
@@CptInside All of which has absolutely NOTHING to do with what Jingles was on about. Yes I play WoWS. A lot. Wrote more than a few guides on it, even.
@@fnglert sry mate my comment was just an answer to stephen´answer. Apperently you cant answer comments on the app so i changed it now. no worries ^^
@@Stephen__White You dont play wows right? Otherwise you could understand the hate...
In case you realy dont play wows: you have NO counterplay against carriers. No matter how many planes you Shoot down, it doesnt matter. The cv will always have enough planes to Ruin your game by either Spot or kill you.
@@CptInside Ah, alright. :) Comment chains are sometimes difficult to figure out in these youtube comment sections, no worries.
I recently experienced something strange in my Lyon, I aimed at a Minsk 9 km away and I missed, 4 entire salvos. My guns were on target, but each salvo gave me the full count of 16 clean misses. All while he was broadsiding in 3 of 4 cases.
He was moving though.
Yup, most of my shots at ships that have pulled a Notser go anywhere but into the beached, stationary, ship.
Agreed: unless they're close and broadside, hitting a stationary ship seems to be harder than it should be.
the triple division was the 899 div, a carrier (I think graf zeppelin due to fast planes) and two musashis
The Cavour died on 997 points xD
Truly snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory
man this channel is so good and i dont even play the game anymore :)
Got to love how the secondary gunners are capable of missing a freaking aircraft carrier at 1 kilometer range. And not even "Ooooh, just missed it!" either, but "Oh dear, our shot fell 600 meters short!"
Pulled the trigger at the wrong point in the roll.
Wasn't the first collaboration. Back when they first released Bismarck as a gold ship, they had an add-on perma camo for walking dead. Instead of just buying the Bizzie, you'd spend an extra 500 gold for the camo. Made the boat look like the liner from Ghost Ship
"the nice thing about these 14-inch guns is that they don't over-penetrate as much as 15 or 16 inch guns"
The next salvo over-penetrates.
Not long ago I went out in my Enterprise had a div of Shiki, Yammy, and Musashi ask me to do that for them lol. When totally unrelated to the request just in the process of normal spotting the CV was spotted they all missed their shots on the stationary CV.
Oh Jingles, I just f*cking love your laugh.
“..I almost forgot my name there…” 😂😂😂😂 I’m dead
the autocorrection of aim is quite an old thing, it first was discovered when RUclipsrs noticed that when watching their own replay back and their aim looked different from the live play.
It was back then already discovered that the aim gets corrected in the vertical axis by quite a lot. I remember one of them doing a side by side of a stream VOD and a replay of the same shot and the height difference what nearly half a ships height. It was something like he was aiming slightly below the waterline and the "correction" actually aimed centerline hull of ship
Strangely, that ship looks like it has very modern lines to it.
Well of course, its British!
IJN did a thorough refit and modernisation of Kongou class in 1930s
Heavy cruisers of Takao class have architecture (especially superstructure) that really does look similar to modern missile destroyers, making them seem not as old as they are
You can basically remove gun turret from Takao class and voila you have modern destroyer.
You seem to forget Jingles that people will always struggle when it comes to doing things for their own benefit.
When they need to do nothing to avoid snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, they fail.
When they need to do something to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, they fail.
*shotgun blast* 💀
3:21 ah yes. The 8-9-9 div. cv to spot enemy cv and 2 BBs with spotter plane (musashis I think it was in that vid)
