**Spoilers** ADHD rant incoming, so my apologies: This is an awesome podcast! Well done. I'm not much of a rom-com fan, but after seeing Heretic, my ADHD took over and I went down a Hugh Grant rabbit hole and watched every non rom-com role he's ever done (post Four Weddings...Lair of the White Worm doesn't sound like anything I'd enjoy). Extreme Measures was great and I felt Mr. Reed harkened back to that quite nicely. It was great to hear your perspective on the existential fear the dialog presented. I spent the whole time nodding and agreeing with him because I went down that path a couple of years ago when I deconstructed from Christianity. He was saying things I've been wanting to shout from the rooftops, so that bit wasn't scary for me. What had me hiding in my jacket were his mannerisms, quirks, and unpredictability. He was a bit like Jonathan Fraser in that respect, charming, lovely, yet horribly twisted and screwed up. He had so much fun screwing with them...he almost looked like he got off on it. Especially in the cellar scene when Paxton figures it out. Hugh's non-verbals in this role were as prophetic as his verbal dialog. Poor chap, his character acting is far better than the studios knew and type cast him early on. I'm just glad we get to see him in roles like this now.
im becoming your 130 subsriber cause i feel like we have same interest to love and like hugh grant as well. Pretty exciting to see fans of hugh grant in this age. Cause i just turn 28 yo, and late to know the treasure of actor like Hugh Grant. Hope you guys more uploading video about Hugh Grant as well. I am Enjoyed Heretic as well, his duality as an actor just insane, how he can be creepy and charming at the same time.

I was so squeamish at that part too 😭😭😭 The only reason I haven’t gone to watch it again
I have now viewed "Heretic" four times. Mr. Reed is a polygamist.
