You said a river near the coast. Let me guess it leads into the Trinity and it comes down from Mount Lassen. My son and I cruise that area and drove down this river all the way to Trinity and then back into civilization down Highway five checked every campground on the river on the way, beautiful country what beautiful country you guys are so lucky to be living the dream as a lot of us are stuck at work and need to re-organize our lives so we can get out there and live the dream. Still trying to think of that rivers name. Don’t blame you for not saying it. It might make it too crowded there, of course anytime River near the coast is awesome

Great videos,but I can’t understand why you guys don’t wear life jackets when you’re in a boat wearing waders.
I will usually not wear one unless your going through a big rapid or a tricky rowing spot. They are bulky and uncomfortable to have on the whole time imo.

Dont worry. You only die when you arent wearing one. Every death cuts down on fishing pressure so it works out.
RUclips the video about the guy who tested fishing waders in a pool, the breathable waders we all wear today with no wading belt sucked up to the guys body fully submerged and didn’t fill with water, he was able to swim right through the deep end no problem. So it’s not really unsafe not wear one unless you don’t know how to swim or are by yourself.
Waders don’t sink like people think. You become neutral buoyant. .
