I noticed that WiFi is enabled when using wireless DeX with my cp and laptop. Wirelessly DeX communicates between these devices through the WiFi router? I use a whole building WiFi. I am guessing that this is not a risk if I have my setting less open.
The last time I used Dex a few months ago, it had a way to select to set up the view so all the files in the phone were displayed on the monitor exactly like they are on the desktop computer with Windows 10, so it was just like moving or copying files back and forth between desktop folders. I just updated Dex a few days ago, unfortunately, because it seems like that did away with the user-friendly organizing system and made it so it is a lot of guesswork and experimenting to copy files, and then things still go wrong. Also, I like to compare sizes of files I copy to the kilobyte to be sure they were not corrupted, or that all the right files were copied, and the old system could do that, but so far I cannot get the new Dex to show that. Am I missing something, or did they hire a high school dropout to create their software updates instead of college-educated programmers? They can save a lot of money that way. Good for them.
Morning, hope you are well. Really hoping you know of a quick fix. For some reason my Samsung DeX isn't working. When I plug in my Note 10+ to my LG monitor, either DeX will pop up for like a second and turn off or nothing happens at all. I've restarted the phone several times, cleared the cache partition and so on. I'm running One UI 3.1 with the most current security patch from July. Is there a way to reset DeX or toggle on or off something? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
Same here. Hope someone will come up with answer I did connect used it but then when I connect again it is just mirroring screen but i want to use dex I change all settings in connection (hdmi) and developers setting but still when I press on dex icon nothing is happening
I'm on a Galaxy Note 9. I have the DeX pad from Samsung but I don't use it, since I have a ZeroLemon battery on my phone. I'm not really interested in removing the case and re-inserting it over and over, as that will probably mess up or even snap the connectors over time. Anyways, for one, it (the case) doesn't even fit the DeX Pad, and I would assume the same thing for your dock as well. I then tried using a cable and well, I found out the hard way that my case and probably most or all battery cases are not compatible with DeX. Mine barely even works with file transfer with the original cable, the connection isn't very good. DeX, forget about it, unless someone comes up with a Wireless non-root method.
@@Triple_M tried that, it didn't work for me. ZeroLemon's website stated that NFC and Android Auto would not work with this case, I imagine DeX would be along the same lines. I do not own a Double-din In Dash system that supports Android Auto, anyways but I'm looking to possibly get one that supports Wireless Android Auto, which should work with my Note 9. Too bad that Wireless DeX does not. Maybe with the Note10/20.
I believe the Note 9 will get updated to One UI 2.5 which will bring the wireless Dex to your device. It will probably be the last firmware update to the Note 9 too. Just hang in there.
@@jaydee_world I'm aware of the fact that One UI 2.5 will be the last One UI update the Note 9 receives. It won't get Android 11. I also read that Samsung is repackaging the One UI 2.5 update and removing features that Samsung claims won't run on the Note 9 due to hardware limitations. Hopefully, this doesn't mean removing Wireless DeX for PC.
Awesome video brother M. Thanks for sharing. Keep the amazing content coming. Hope you and your family have an awesome weekend. Much love and RESPECT
I had no idea you could use the touch display on the phone when it was off. Very cool.
Triple M this is something to look into buying thanks for the review.
Are you looking into buying the phone or the set up for Samsung Dex?
@@Triple_M Just the setup
I realize I'm kind of randomly asking but does anybody know a good place to stream newly released tv shows online?

I had that problem with my last note, I bought a USB female to male adapter/extender to have it sit a little higher in the dex station.

How do you shut down DEX? Just unplug/pull out the USB from the phone while DEX/phone is still running?
Yes, thats one way. But if are in you PC, you can click the "X" in the top right to exit.
if you lock your device, your dex will be close on PC?
