I meditated for one hour every day for the month of May. It was a real challenge and at times a struggle. But man, I learned a lot. Will I keep meditating this way? Find out everything that happened in this video.
If you want to get started with meditation, try out the apps Waking Up by Sam Harris or Brightmind or Calm.
The app I used during this challenge is called Insight Timer.

i meditate quite regularly between 20 min and one hour. every day is different because i don't use a timer. i prefer not to but to kind of rely on my inner guidance. i always do silent meditation, i believe it's a better option, harder and more boring sure, but better, if not the only one possible. i see guided meditations are still in a way distractions, because you are focusing on an outer thing (the voice that guides you), instead of being totally alone with your self and your own shit/ struggles. i've been meditating for a few years now and it hasn't become enjoyable i have to admit, i still kind of push myself to do it just because i believe it's good for me. (some moments are enjoyable though)... my biggest discovery and the thing no one talks about is that actually one hour after some time does seem to pass faster. also, if you skip just a few days, you will struggle more afterwards... other than that there are many benefits of me meditating, i'm more mindful of my actions, aware of my thoughts, much calmer for sure, much more frequently present, ideas flow more easily as well... but i have to say that changes in my outer circumstances are very slow, very unlike what many spiritual teachers lightly promise... you know like 'meditate 15 min for a month and your life will change 180 degrees... there are many such out there unfortunately and they easily make you feel bad about yourself and think you're doing something wrong...

I'm 18 right now, and I "started" meditating about a month ago. I'm trying to stick to it, but often enough I just lack the motivation. I started out using the 10 first free guided meditations that the "Headspace" app offers, but now I'm just doing it on my own. I'm usually starting out by letting my thoughts go wild and afterward, I try to focus on my breath. I did it mostly for 10 minutes, but this week, I'm going up 1 minute a day, because I want 20 minutes to be my daily practice.
Anyway, love your content, you really are a big inspiration to me! Hope you are doing well and sending you free happiness!! (be quick to take it, it's on sale!)
Keep going, or don't, but I wish you to be happy because you are making me! :)

Meditation is much like exercise, you are better to do 3, twenty minute sessions. Also, try meditation in the park, around noise, because you want to learn to tale your mind to a meditative place easily no matter where you are. Wonderful for when you are in a long line or a tense situation. Remember you mind doesn’t normally with ear plugs and eye mask. Namaste

Its great to meditate. It makes you aware of yourself. Understand. Get in touch with your emotions. Evolve. As a person. I would suggest. Dropping all meditation methods. The mind is already perfect. Let it be. As is. Thats how it evolves. 5years of meditation and trying all kinds of methods. Just sitting. Is the best one. These words. It is what it is. It just is. Was the most powerfull insight iv ever got.

    Love this video Conni,
I've watched many other videos on meditation and have found the same benefits. Meditation has definitely changed my life and now I continue to do it daily.
This video definitely inspired me and im sure, many others to take on the same challenge.
Meditation is vastly underrated and should be brought out more.
I also took on the same challenge as you and decided to record it. If you guys are interested, feel free to check it out on my channel and let me know how you do it!

    Dear, Connie.
I love your videos and I especially love this one. Meditation for me is a relatively new thing which I've discovered only withing the last few months but each time I do it, it's always just a 10 minute guided meditation process and I always fall asleep.
Listening and watching your video has inspired me to give un-guided a try. I'm not sure how to do it but I'll try.
    Thanks for the great content.
    Rich.

Thank you Conni for this video and the insight you give us into your challenge. I started again with meditation. I start at 6h after the lemon water and meditate 20 min in silence. Before I always meditated in the evening. Now I consciously use the energy in the morning and the peace. I also use a timer. I am still at the beginning. For me, the time before work is already a challenge.

Try ‘warming up’ by doing Yoga Asanas and breathing exercises before meditating. Your mind will be calmer.

That's frustrating how a lot of instructors will tell you you got to do this from your knees lotus position I found it for me the most relaxing it's just laying down and using like a blanket to kind of posture up my neck and keep my focus on my breath and I don't have to worry about having upper back issues

Hi! Thanks for sharing your experience. I noticed on a few of your videos that you mention Dr. Joe Dispenza and that you attended his retreat. Which one did you attend? I've been studying his work for over a year now and now meditate nearly everyday for about 45 minutes. I was not much of a meditator before. I'm curious as to how long of a retreat you were on and if you went on the week long intensive/progressives? If not, do you think attending this type of retreat may have made a difference in the quality of your meditation? He is coming near my hometown this month but it got sold out quickly. Again, thanks for sharing. 😊

Brilliant video... So inspirational as always Conni😗 I completed the mbct mindfulness course a couple of years ago... and I struggled to stay awake for ALL the guided meditations (so frustrating 😖). I think the problem was exhaustion from a full day at work!! I am currently working as a locum and plan to take 1 to 2 months off after the current booking comes to a close. You have inspired me to explore the meditation further 🤗 I think I will use some of this time to complete the Joe dispenza meditations from his book 'breaking the habit of being yourself'. During this time I can experiment with doing the meditations at different times in the day- as you did in your 30-day challenge. Thank you for being such an inspiration and positive advocate for learning and maintaining curiosity. I am enjoying being part of your journey
    😘

You have just started and you say you will stop and do it occasionally? If you really want to see the benefits of meditation then continue nonstop for atleast six months. You will see how your perception of life undergoes a complete change and then you will never leave mediation for life.
Remember it took you 10 years to graduate from school and you are only giving 30 days for meditation???????
Do it for your entire life. One hour of your day is virtually nothing. Think about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless You.

Ali Ansari I did a whole video on IG you look back about 8-10 videos or so. There should be time stamps that explain. It’s difficult to categorize it but I wouldn’t call it paranormal. Just...surreal maybe? Not sure the best word.
