So I was DMing this one D&D campaign, and my players showed up with their characters already made. We had a fighter, a bard and a rogue.
I was going through the characters before the game started and I was like “okay, these seem fine. They’re choosing normal races and whatnot. We’ve got a human, a halfling...” and then I got to the Rogue’s character and he was playing a dark elf, which I was not expecting at all, so I just had to go,

Okay so I was in theater for most of my life and senior year in high school, the male lead has never been in a play in his entire life so i was going through all of the common terms he's gonna hear. Places, the wings, the fly ins, blocking, that stuff so he wouldnt get confused. He kept getting tripped up when I described the curtain call, like he couldnt ever fully understand it.
