Romanceable compansions have a personal quest AND a romance quest. This is Dorian's romance quest. The Last Resort of Good Men is his companion quest. As for Josephine, Of Somewhat Fallen Fortune is her companion quest but you only get to do An Unexpected Engagement (the duel with her fiance) if you romance her.

I think it's because at that time they're not quite "together" yet so it's the whole "he's my friend but also he's more than that" thing. And Dorian seems to have this fear with relationships that he mentions (because in Tevinter, gay men are together for pleasure and rarely for an actual relationship) so maybe he was afraid of admitting he liked the Inquisitor.
@@KAOSgrimkarnate I think Dorian was going for "He's not my friend he's fucking me." But since that's none of Ponchard's business, he stopped midway throught the sentence making it sound like he was denying the relationship, therefore making the Inquisitor giving him the death stare.
@@KAOSgrimkarnate it's not that same sex relationships are shunned, They're shunned only when one of the couple is a noble that didn't want to marry some other noble to make an heir for the families (Which is Dorian's case)

@@teabiscuits4073 it works with any race and any class if you completed the Winter Palace quest, as long as you found the blackmail evidence on Celene, Gaspard and Briala. My dwarven Inq reconciled Celene and Briala, and was able to intimidate Ponchard afterwards. Qunari (any class) and Human Rogues/Warriors can always intimidate Ponchard, regardless of the Winter Palace.
