    I tasted the fruit of the wild paddle like cactus that grows in the desert. I had to be careful with my teeth because the seeds were really hard. The fruit was actually pretty good. Glad my brother was the one who got stuck getting them. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

      The dragon fruit cactus (purple/red variety) is maybe the best. Seeds are smaller but fruit is sweet.

    Hi Ana! Such an abundance of seed pods! Unbelievable! I'm so happy for you. I was thinking about Daz's adventurous moment when you spoke about not tasting the fruit pulp. Hahaha. Bless his courage.😊 Thank you for sharing the harvest video with us
    And here's to the next generation of cacti! From the garden city of India to you, have an awesome week. Cheers and God bless.

    Fantastic video Ana, soooo many seeds! The Opuntia and Rainbow Hedgehog cactus seed pods were very interesting looking. Thanks for once again reminding me about the bad tasting Mammillaria fruit 😝😂 Every time I’m reminded of that I can still taste it! You really should have tasted the Gymno fruit, I heard they’re absolutely delicious 😂 Thank you for sharing another awesome video with us Ana, have a fantastic week. 😊🌵☀️🌸☕️

      LOVE OF PLANTS 🌻 yeah. Some seedlings that I left out in the summer heat but under shade grew faster than the ones I babied inside my house. Barrel fruits! Oh, must be good size flowering barrels.

    I don't know why I never connected my cactus blooms with seed production! Duh! Will you make a video showing how & what you put the seeds in to germinate. I know you mentioned you use plastic bag method. I'd really like to see the process, how many seeds per container, how long before they sprout, do you water them, etc. So fascinating! Thanks for this video, it really fanned the flame of interest in these unique plants.

    Which type of seeds would you recommend for a beginner to plant? I really want to grow my own cacti, but I’m not sure which type to get? There are so many different types of cacti. Any advise would be appreciated. Btw I love your cacti collection. One day I hope to have a collection like yours. Your videos are an inspiration.

      Among the seeds that I’ve grown, trichocereus (grandiflora/torch cactus) are the easiest to germinate and grow. Opuntia humifusa also grows fast for me. But it is not the same for all. It depends more on the quality of the seeds and the conditions under which it is grown. Thank you for your encouraging words! 😊

    Hello, how much time does a seed need to pop out of the soil and appear?
    2- does time vary depending on the type of cactus?
    Thank you for sharing experiences🤗

    • @CactusCaffeine
      @CactusCaffeine  4 года назад +1

      At a temperature average of 84F, many germinate after 7-10 days, others a little longer. Yes, it depends on the type of cactus. Opuntia seeds which are bigger can take months before they germinate. 🙂

    • @CactusCaffeine

      Open the fruit and rub the pulp with seeds on a paper napkin then let dry. It is easier to get the tiny seeds this way.
