I’ve been using my Segway GT2 for my everyday commuter..I just programmed all the speed settings to eco mode because I dont wanna choose by mistake the sport mode STDC.i don’t wanna die soon.😂
“I don’t know whether to be happy or upset at Segway…” for my choice to curb hop on a brand new scooter that I’d ridden for 1 mile after using a completely different and much less powerful scooter for 3 years. Why would you be upset at Segway? Despite apparently having decades of racing experience, after only 1 mile, you wheelied off a curb with your thumb planted full blast on the accelerator while mid-air 😂 I mean, it sucks that you got hurt, but I see nothing here that should make you upset at Segway. Heal up quick!
Appreciate the well wishes. Point of the video series is to save anyone else from going through what I'm going through. There are a LOT of people riding these that have never been on a scooter before of any kind. Also I wanted to point out the difference regardless of the power/torque increases was that they changed it from FRONT to REAR wheel drive. If they left it Front wheel drive like my ES4 this would not have happened. I received this before it was available to the public. It wasn't even listed on the website yet so I didn't have full specs. Funny they touted the new snow tires, dual rear fender so you don't get puddle spray on your back, and multiple waterproof ratings. Now the manual specs say not to ride in snow or get it wet. Go figure. Cheers and stay safe.
@@TheBatracho I think you get the higher speed, I think changing the throttle it gradually goes to the top speed than rapidly. Either way the scooter still performs so well.
I'm sorry about your accident brother, but keep in mind those particular models are " commuter " vehicles. they are not intended for jumps and wheelies ,or any other evasive maneuvers. the suspension is only there to smooth out the bumps and pot holes . feel better.
gave my p100se back after 1 month and 300km driven. Rear suspension is damaged. left arm is not working. rear fender just dropped because it came loose too. its a design fault because every one of the two suspension arms can work independently and cause the wheelaxis to tilt sideways and get loose. its a big dissapointment. i will try the GT1 now on which the rear suspension arm is a U and not two seperate arms.

Thanks. No I think it’s just a big step in torque from my old model and the fact that they moved the power wheel from the front to the rear. If they had left it on the front it would’ve been fine.
I'm not trying to be rude to the guy but to blame segway at the end there? It's his own fault he fell. Segway scooters, we're not designed to jump off curbs. If you use a product in a way, the manufacturer didn't intend, whatever happens is your own fault.
I appreciate the comments but I should provide some clarity. Here in Chicago, and I would assume other major cities we have Divvy (bikes, ebikes, and thousands of segway scooter) rental rack’s all over the city. They’re almost all located on the sidewalks so you have to ride up and down the curbs to get to them and return them. I didn’t say I was doing X-games tricks. I was simply exiting the curb as people do all day every day. Those Segway scooters are ALL front wheel drive. To do it safely weather on a bicycle OR scooter, you smoothly pop the front wheel a bit to un-weight it or you’ll crash. (there’s no shortage of videos out there showing people crashing who try to ride up and down curbs without un-waiting the front wheel.) This is standard practice when you’re a kid learning how to ride a bike. Segway reached out and offered this scooter to me before it was available to the public. I was invited to a private group and we all had to purchase via Kickstarter. While we were waiting they kept sending us promo materials and YES, they promoted this scooter as bigger, better, faster, MORE suspension (so YES as intended) as well as Multiple waterproof ratings, Treaded tires, off-road capability, better fenders to stop water spray and even suggested could be ridden in snow. So to the people that say it was not used as intended, you didn’t see the marketing materials we were sent when they pitched this new product to our private group. The GT series even showed them fishtailing. All of those rentals are front wheel drive. What I am questioning is the why they decided to switch to rear wheel drive when all of their other models are front. Especially when adding all that torque and power. Mine was and is still regulated down from maximum power because it’s in training mode until you put 3.3 miles on it which I still have not due to the accident. Yet it still had so much rear wheel torque it flipped me. I was simply doing what people do every single day with any scooter in a major city. Thank you.
Hater’s will say he’s an amateur and unsafe and shouldn’t have tried to wheelie off a curb without a helmet or protective metal shoes 👠 and knee pads and he’ll go to work and say he was in a car crash and can’t get to work for weeks because his car was damaged and the other guy wasn’t safe and had no insurance… Hater’s

It is why I think Ninebot Max (rear motor and front drum brake, like the zero 8 pro that have dual brakes) is more secure than the new Xiaomi Pro 4 (front motor and rear disk brake) for example :) I think the problem is the model transition, from a 4S to a P100S is a big jump, if there was a Ninebot Max between the two, it would be better ^^ I had more "surprises" with the rear plain tire of the motor of Z8 Pro that is very different than an inflated one...
