I love how all the medias tries so hard to make her life hard but Marie does not flinch. She’ll just nonchalantly tackle everything and make you feel guilty
@@skypeters3034 they're trying to make her fold the impossible but obviously she passes the test without flinching. And also some of them make fun of her and her methods.
She don't just teaches Americans to fold properly, She teaches us to express gratitude or gratefulness to the item we are folding and the uses and benefits it gives us.
The Kon Marie method isn’t just folding but learning to respect your belongings so that they are the most effective things for you! Her other advice to reduce belongings is simply with our economy even though we aren’t making as much as we used to continue to try to find contentment by buying useless stuff that ended up overwhelming us! Her attitude of anyone can do it gives people the confidence to try and succeed at prioritizing their things so they don’t overwhelm their environment, emotional stress from having to find a place for all of this stuff which is now dominating so many people’s lives! Her gentleness is a lost art form in America! Gratitude is lost, ask grandparents who don’t receive a thank you for all of the presents they send, the time they spend in many cases with no pay just so their children can succeed in spite of being unable to afford or obtain quality child care! She advocates that we treat our things with respect that carries over into other aspects of our lives! That isn’t just folding!
Agree with you. I found most American simply her method as folding and throwing things away, they also found saying thanks to stuffs before tidying is awkward... but in fact that’s the core of KonMarie method, to treasure what you have.
Something that cracks me up about how people react to Marie is when people who are skeptical of her act like they have something to prove against her. I remember this one article that said “I found a way to make extra space in your home without getting rid of your pictures, and it’s going to leave Marie Kondo shaking!! I scanned them all and put them in the cloud before throwing them away!!” And a lot of the comments were like “....Yeah, she’d literally be okay with that if that’s how you wanted to sort” lol. I wish people stopped acting like she’s ORDERING you to do anything. Is my house as minimalist as hers? Nope. Are my picture boxes still full of pictures from vacations where my finger is covering the lens? Nope! 😂
i have something major to prove against her. she is a neocon who came to america in order to educate the american people against buying chinese stuff which presumably doesn't "spark joy" and hence undermine china's economy. she works against her own asian kind. she and dalai lama would make a great couple.
@broadwaymelody33 That's it. You said it. Is my room as neat and tidy as hers probably is? Nope. Is my socks, bras, and underwear drawer still an unmanageable snowstorm? Nope!!!
Why is that funny to the people commenting? Is her spirituality to be made fun of? Sure, you’re uncomfortable with the idea of honoring your house and speaking to inanimate objects, but you have to respect her beliefs as she respects yours.
@@whitneyhoustonstan2472 its not that its funny , not for me at least it just explained a lot of her beliefs and behaviours since Shintoism often believes that treasured items have a soul - the reason why you will find sort of "burrial" ceremonies for everyday items in Japan. Marco Murillo Well, it’s very different from what probably most of us watching are used to. That type of thing isn’t usually portrayed positively in our culture, after all. It’s more of a crazy, hippie kind of thing. I’m sure they find things about Western cultures just as strange. One convention I went to had a Japanese guest who mentioned she was shocked at the huge portion sizes at restaurants here. So it’s not like it doesn’t go both ways.

By the way she reacts to the challenges given and her body language, she's the smart and extremely efficient type of Japanese (Not everybody is like that). Western people might be fooled by her gentle smile and innocent look, but she's the boss... a very smart one.
I love Marie Kondo because she's so patient, nonjudgmental, and organized. It's like a Type B personality broke out, got organized and is showing us the way.
She is Type B with North Americans because they can't handle anything else. If you read her first book, she's quite type A with her Japanese clients. Meaning that she is very strict about certain things and won't budge. But that would make someone here throw a fit and cry in the corner, so she adjusted her ways a bit.
Pimika Meaw she has her own show, I forgot what it’s called but she goes to people’s houses and basically teaches them how to like store household items properly, how to clean and stuff like that. It’s quite surprising to see how many Americans don’t know how to do the most simplest things
