John Paul Most definitely! Jack has been through a lot of traumatic stress over the years and hasn’t had it easy and yet after all these years and at his age Jack Russell still has it! It’s a shame that the original band members can’t see eye to eye and went their separate ways. Especially the legal dispute over who got to keep the name Great White. THE Great White just hasn’t quite been the same without Jack as frontman, they’ve had a number of lead singers over the years and most of them sucked honestly. However their newest front man Mitch Malloy has been the best one out of all the others and he seems to be a great fit for the band. In all reality I think the biggest problem that caused the break up was the bands concern of Jacks drug & alcohol abuse. I’ve listened to interviews with Mark Kendall and the guys and they tried effortlessly to help him and make it work and eventually they just got sick of it. Eventually Jack got the help he needed but I guess it was a decision that was made too late and Mark Kendall himself said he would never play with Jack ever again, which sucks but Jack has been doing great and still sober! He’s still currently doing shows and killing it!
I agree, the slow build up, rock solid bass line , gettin it on with chicks, blistering lead , easy lyrics to sing along with..one of my all time favorites..takes me right back to that time in my life..Damn i wish we could go back..i felt safe ..not a care in the world.. I hate the world today and what America has evolved to..freaks , creeps, and shitbags
I saw them In Johnson City TN in 89. I was very impressed with the performance. If memory serves me correct they were with Tesla and special guest Badlands. Actually all 3 bands were good!
ahh, the old daze, the smell of booze, weed , perfume and cocaine all through the room and kick ass rock and roll. I could have lived in the 80's forever. where is the damn time machine?
Absolutely, the passion for the music is evident. Just like Queensryche in their heyday with Chris Degarmo stomping his his foot to the beat when he was playing his heart out.
One of the most underrated classic rock songs ever in my opinion... Should be up there with the likes of Bohemian Rhapsody and Stairway To Heaven.... One of my favourite songs of all time I might add and I shall never tire of hearing it.
*I saw this band in 1981, when they were just a Led Zeppelin cover band. I really enjoyed the show at Penny Arcade in Charlotte, NY. Bought the band a round, during their break. I was 16. Good memories.*
What a kick ass song!! Love how they take their time building up to chorus. Whenever it's on sat radio I find I'm turning it up a little more every 20 to 30 secs and when "rock me" finally gets sung its wide open and kids are screaming "dad! Turn it down, it's too loud" but now they like these good old tunes as music is in a bad way these days.
Great White is one of those bands that it kills me to see them playing nightclubs and festivals and state fairs at thier age,but at the same time I'm thankful because they were one of the best to come out of LA,right up there with Guns n Roses.
Michael Ventura if Axl had his voice that he did in 2006 right now, Guns's current performances will sound so great. Wish Izzy and either Matt or Popcorn would come back tho
Damn. This band was solid live.. I just saw them and they still are kickass in August 2022. When I saw them in 1988, they absolutely blew me away how good they were. Great White ruled the airwaves and they deserved it. W0W. So glad I found this video..I forgot just how great they were back then. Dang. What a solo and all around badazz song ROCK ME is.. and what a performance of it! 🙌🏻 Enjoy RoCkErS 🤘🏻
@tlw6224 A good friend of mine Lorne Doyle AKA: Lorne Black who palyed bass for Great White back in the 80's (when Great White was Great) was the guy who wrote this/ your favorite song, "Rock Me". When Jack and Niven got rid of Lorne, they (in my opinion) got rid of the Great in Great White. I happen to know that Lorne has some kick ass music that he has made ever since then, I know this because he re-recorded the album at my house, so I have them all on disc, and they're GREAT.
Jack Russell, the lead vocalist of Great White ... Really 'had it' as seen in this footage ... as near as I can tell, that style of rock is stuck in the late 1970's ... Thru the 90's ... Long live Great White
Definitely one of the best rock songs ever. To sound this good live is truly amazing. The lame acts of today can't even sound this good live with computerized enhancing equipment.

This is so freaking great. The way they kick it up a notch with the chorus...great live version of a great song. This song is up there Stairway to Heaven, Freebird, and the other alltime great rock songs if you ask me. It’s just so perfect and it never gets old.
I had the privilege to see Great White open for Skid Row, both with current lineups, last year and it was one of the greatest shows I’ve ever seen. Both of these bands are still powerhouses even 30+years later. Mark and Michael and Snake and Scotti are some of the best guitarist team players for each band. Can’t beat the 80’s! 🤘🏼

Such a flawless live version of my top favorite hard rock song of the era! Perfect song, it has everything, slow and fast tempo, sounds like a ballad but it is not, fantastic vocals, amazing guitar solos. A masterpiece, on record and live! Always loved Great White!❤
Outstanding live sound and performance.10/10 Jacks voice always was perfect live, all instruments were perfectly mixed from the board, great guitar sound...not many bands can do this...
I saw them with Whitesnake in 87 when i was 14 and i hadn't listened to them in years and i came back to this and i have to say this is a killer song, great band.
Yep, i was a 70's 80's teenager. We are lucky we had that music. Kids today have Jonass brothers and what not crap. I was these guys in concert around 88. They were hipped up and warmed up and that guitar player was so pumped up he was like a jitter bug, yet smooth as silk. Hes got great hands and if you think he sound good here, you should hear what it sounds like standing right in front of his Marshall stack. I will never forget it.

Loved seeing Great White in the 80s. Incredible decade, impossible to comprehend unless you lived through it and witnessed shows like this. Yeah, there was decadence and ignorance and because of both, that decade was so damn enjoyable. Jesus, what a rush.
This guy had an incredible voice And literally sounds just as good as the album. Not many can do that.

@@larryhogan231 let's hold on a bit here. Good voice and good band. Best voice in rock history is quite a bit out there. I do enjoy GW, but...man
I get that. It was just a big statement. I'm a big Queensryche fan too. Comparing his voice to mid 80's Geoff Tate is quite a bit off

Hands down one of the best live bands ever. This is what a real performance is.
Saw them at the Keystone in Berkeley when they were a Zepplin tribute band. With Randy Hanson. What a night.
So true,I've seen em 7 times never disappointed

Until they BURN the house down........
Saw them in '91. They opened for KISS and blew KISS off the friggin' stage. Jack Russell has one of the all time greatest voices in rock & roll...
Saw them in 90 with Alice cooper....Alice had to play hard to follow great white I tell ya.....jack is a great front man as well

Totally agree. Naysayers call them hair bands and shit but judge a book by its cover, 80's rock was when musicians still played their hearts out.
Great White was one of the best 80's rock bands period. This is so tight even better than the studio version. Not many bands can pull that off.
I believe Gun’s and Rose’s played that evening too. I recall arguing with a female friend how much better GW was than Guns. This was a badass show!!!!
