Wow, Kenny, your videos just get better and better. I was going to install Sower at one point, but thought it would be a bit too much work for me... and well.. not anymore, because there's a new Kenny Gioia video to show me the way!! Thank you, sir. You're the best. Installing things as we speak!
This is awesome! I used FL studio to make beats because it was easier since I used it longer than Reaper. Now it'll be much easier to make them. Thank you, Kenny! 😃
Great! This will allow for way faster drum programming. Midi programming is such a pain! The step sequencer in Reason and FL allows me to create beats in minutes whereas in Ableton and Reaper I had to go trough so many tries.
Thanks Kenny 😉👍🏽 I've been using it for some time and it's a nice tool to use. With just a few clicks they create original percussive and melodic parts . 1000thanks🎼💚👍🏽
Thank you so much for this recommendation and the explanation. I personally prefer the *JS MIDI Sequencer MegaBaby* which has a slightly different workflow and which comes without installation of anything additional. And in my humble it has more features (and for my music I can't even think about making music anymore without the JSMSMB). But anyway ... it's always good to know alternatives. 🙂
Hi There, thanks Kenny. I have a portable install on a Mac M1 Monterey but can't get it to work. Already gave Mac OS permission for the reaper_sower.dylib to open but maybe due to my portable install it won't show up in the menu. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. cheers
Great video thanks Kenny - as per all of your stuff- many thanks Question: Can this easily facilitate odd time meters? The step count appears to be all in multiples of 4. What if I want to write something where you count in 3, 5, 6, 7 etc?
Well, I couldn't get it to work at all on my system. Did the manual install just won't show up on 2022 Mac Studio M1 Max. If anyone has a clue, lay it on me, thanks.
great video kenny, appreciate the work. what if i want separate outputs for drums, like can we access multiple reaper tracks at once through sower cuz that sloves the problem.
This video was great! I just have one problem, when selecting the sample from sower the sample name doesn't show up, just the note names. All the samples from samplomatic plays at the same time. Maybe I set up samplomatic wrong?
Why does the track name that I use have unique characters that are unreadable? Your track in the sower Extension says "multi". Yours is readable. Mine isn't. How do I fix this?
No issues installing SWS/S&M Extention but even when installing manually as per guidelines Sower as allowed the Plugin on macOS Security settings, reloaded Re'aper 3 times yet Sower just doesn't show on AMR MacBook running macOS 15.2. I've read on the Sower page comments that I'm not the only one. If anyone know of another Step Sequencer working on 'Apple Silicon' on Sequoia; please let me know.
Managed to get this working on M1 Mac when I opened Reaper under Rosetta. But not in native mode. Has anybody succeeded in getting it to work natively on the M1?
Hey can we explode each channel to a different track or do we have to do it manually.? Also can we combine different tracks into one sower sequencer. Like different tracks of snare/ kick showing as 1 in sower?
Am I the only one that's not getting this extension to work? I already have sws installed but sower extension isn't working. I looked at the read me txt to add manually and its still not showing up in reaper :( someone help
It would be nice to allow sower to load up note name lists as in the MIDI Editor. It should work both for non-GM drum kits or keyswitched instruments - but I couldn't code if my life depended on it.
I've had reaper for awhile but don't use it until now I've found your videos and they're really inspiring. Do you know of any problems downloading sower for reaper on an m1 MacBook Pro?
Kenny just out of curiosity, is there any reason why Sower would be considered lesser than other sequencer plugins? I don't exactly plan on getting too experimental with samples, mostly just drums and keys for more vintage genres. No EDM or anything.
The sower extension is meant to quickly lay down some drum beats in an easier fashion. But Because it's Reaper, you can get under the hood with the midi parts and fine tune the notes to sound like real drum parts. I use drum sequencers for all types of drums
Stumbled onto this video after playing with gstomper on android so I'm completely new but I'm very curious how you made the background track? It sounds so good. I know it's not related to the topic of the tutorial but I'm super curious.
Thanks Kenny. That's so useful that it writes to the midi editor, but when I use it for a pitched instrument, I can't get it to to play a sustained note or join/tie individual notes together like I can with Megababy. Is that possible with Sower ?
I don't understand? Why would you want to use this in stead of the midi editor? People might think that the midi editor is more complex or something? Well, you have more functionality in the editor, but it actually works much quicker, you don't have to install or add anything, you don't need to add channels either, just open it and go.
This made my day, I have been wanting this for a long time. I used FL before coming aboard to Reaper in 2017 and I have always missed there sequencer.

Great to hear!
Soooo timely, im struggling with megababy and arpeggio creation , your a dream come true -ROCK
Thanks Kenny, I did not know this extension, and I already love it, it is exactly the ultra simplicity I was looking for!
Loving it! Thank you so much for all your vids.
This is awesome! I used FL studio to make beats because it was easier since I used it longer than Reaper. Now it'll be much easier to make them. Thank you, Kenny! 😃
Great. More clear than the tutorial I have seen and just created more confusion than clarity. Your tutorial it's what it should be. Thanks a zillion.
Tnx Kenny, what a handy extension. Ive been trying to use the midi inline editor in a similar fashion, this makes things much easier
Fruity Loops inside Reaper.
You're a great Reaper's teacher. Have a nice week!
Great! This will allow for way faster drum programming. Midi programming is such a pain! The step sequencer in Reason and FL allows me to create beats in minutes whereas in Ableton and Reaper I had to go trough so many tries.
ahhhhh you beat me to this one by like, a day :)
It's even way easier with Sitala. Sitala+Sower is the best combo!
Thanks Kenny 😉👍🏽 I've been using it for some time and it's a nice tool to use. With just a few clicks they create original percussive and melodic parts . 1000thanks🎼💚👍🏽

Tutorials for the myriad extensions are beyond welcome. I have here one friendly request for one on RS5K Manager.
Thanks Kenny🐐!
I second this request
Wow! This is great! Thanks for the Video Kenny!
Man oh man!!! Gonna make me all the beats tonight with this thing!
Woah, this is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much ❤
Thanks Kenny for this tutorial 🙂
Thanks Kenny. This is a wonderful tool.
Hey Kenny thx for your great work. Love&Light..
Thanks Kenny 🍻🎹
I installed it some time ago, pretty cool thing, need to get back to it again
Really love the Sower! Been using it for a year or so. Wish it would be updated so you can use multiple instances of it on different tracks...
Kenny. U da man!!!!!
Holy hell this is gamechanging
Hardly, too much menu diving for 2022
Nah, same game.
Reapers has had cool stuff like this for years.
How? This is just an inferior midi sequencer.
@@bsmith8166 For anyone who's had their head buried in the FruityLoops channel sequencer, this extension provides a gateway into Reaper.
@@Dunbar0740 aka the gateway plug
Does this plug-in have any advantage over just writing midi? It seems like this is just a midi editor with less features.
I am not really getting this either
Your right... But the sequencer is just bare bones
The outro music reminds me of the Ventures.
Wish the could add a feature to just add samples by dragging them straight to the editor
McSequencer is what you are looking for, simpler to use and more powerful.

Now we wait for piano roll, and it will be complete
Great video thanks Kenny - as per all of your stuff- many thanks

Nice to see Reaper hatch a FL studio sequencer 😛
Any news on Mac m1 support?
:O
this is exactly what i need

Can you make an ableton version 😩
that was a nice tutorials @kenny , where can I get the guitar sound you used in this tutorial?

What do I do if Sower isn't showing the samples I put on reasample? cant figure out what im doing wrong rn
Can you use this to control a drum VSTi like Addictive Drums?
Yep
Is there any saving option in sower
I have used before now i will use it often after kenny inspirational video.
Gracias genio🇦🇷
Does this work on an M1 Mac? I manually installed according to the instructions in the readme, but it's not showing up in the extensions menu....
Managed to get this working on M1 Mac when I opened Reaper under Rosetta. But not in native mode. Has anybody succeeded in getting it to work natively on the M1?
I bought it when it was not freeware. Very sweet sequencer.
Hey can we explode each channel to a different track or do we have to do it manually.?
Also can we combine different tracks into one sower sequencer. Like different tracks of snare/ kick showing as 1 in sower?
Can it trigger samples? Or I need a vst drum machine?

Soo cool!
Just because of this I wanted to switch to cubase of FL. Can't reaper make this easier?

hmm but i dont see how this is better than working on the midi editor directly
Thanks Kenny. That's so useful that it writes to the midi editor, but when I use it for a pitched instrument, I can't get it to to play a sustained note or join/tie individual notes together like I can with Megababy. Is that possible with Sower ?
Hi can you make a video for how can we use Behringer bcr2000 in reaper ?thank u

Nice & Low CPU usage!!!
Fruity loops v1.0
It will not install. Maybe some where i can read up on it, that you can tip me on?
Did you get it installed? I have the same problem. I'm running 32 bit Reaper. That might be an issue which would be unfortunate.
@@metaldetectinginsask4781 No, not yet. I ude 64 bit Reaper.
It doesn’t say ok
