The beginning of the video is kind of dark but once things get started you are sooo awesome!!! I had gotten a few of the mystery bracelets in a kit thinking I could follow the directions to make them for my grandkids but when I saw the directions I was really confussed!!! Thank you for the great video that goes slow and is easy yo understand. 👍❤

Could not agree more. I need more of this attitude in life. Also such clear and concise explanation. This dude would be a great teacher no matter the subject.
And I finally understand the weight / thickness relation. I so often hear "it's a five-ounce leather", and think "What the blank does that even mean?" I'm German, we don't use the weight. We say "It's 2mm thick". So a big thank you, for teaching the thickness. That means the leather I have left over is about 4 ounces... And I can make a small satchel out of it, if I line it with some lighter leather. And I even have the tools needed for a basic lacing technique. You really know how to motivate people to go do leather projects.
The Best Teacher in the world. Honest, charming, good, professional & dedicated. No RUclips channel provides free training like this.i saw every video. Some so-called people selling Their video courses.they’re worse than this. The best free Leather course.❤️❤️❤️
I had the great pleasure of meeting and getting instruction from Chuck several years ago when he worked at a store local to me. I learned a lot from him and caught his passion for leather work. Thank you, Chuck. Without you I don't believe I'd be where I am at today.
Chuck is an inspiration. Novice leather worker myself, but man I watch all of Weaver's videos and every time I get inspired to push my own limits just based off of this man's attitude. He stops himself from "rolling" but I honestly love that about him. The man loves what he does. Keep the videos coming!
Lately I've been feeling drawn to start leathercrafting, but too nervous to actually take that first step and jump in. Words cannot express how excited I am to start after watching this! This video was incredibly informative, encouraging, and inspiring to the imagination with much wisdom about both leathercrafting and the artistic process. I particularly love how you expressed that even folks who don't feel like "creative types" have creativity within just waiting to be unleashed, such an important message!
i worked as a machinist for 6 years now, its a good and useful profession and a decent living and though i didnt find it boring i just never had a real passion for it, i realized that a few months back when i first saw your video which got me into leathercrafting, and even though i can not do it full time (not yet at least), even as a hobby it really filled this hole i had in my heart for years, so i just wanted to say Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and introducing me to this beautiful craft. Cheers!
Damn. What an amazing guy. Can tell he really loves his craft, and it's so contagious! I've gotten into leatherworking myself lately and this guy makes me feel like I could do it for a living.
I've been waffling around about getting into leatherworking for years, convinced it had to be hard, expensive, and time-consuming. Then I finally sat down and watched this... I am so INSPIRED right now; and I feel REALLY confident about getting started! Thank you so much for making this; you are a fantastic teacher, and I can't wait to finally create my first projects!
I'm a creative type. But watching another creative type bring such positivity to people that don't realize how creative they can be is definitely a treat.
This channel is by far the most useful I have come across in regards to learning leather-crafting. This man is so thorough in explaining every step and each tool used during the process. This is the perfect channel for anyone trying to learn.
Chuck, I want to thank you for these videos. Your lessons are by far the most detailed and informative I've found on the web.All of us folks that are new to the craft are totally in your debt. Please keep Rocking us with your enthusiasm doing new projects.
I bought a bunch of 14oz veg for black powder holsters, belts,+ accessories. With this guys help, someday my creations might be attractive instead of just functional.
I love your enthusiasm, Chuck, the way you teach is inspiring. I inherited my grandfathers' leatherworking tools, and I'm sad to say I've only used them a few times. But I feel a real pull to use them and turn out a number of projects I've pondered now that I've found your channel. The techniques you use to get things done, you can tell you've done this for YEARS. It's nice to see a master at work. Thank you, sir. I'll be combing through your channel for more inspiration!
Was looking for a hobby. Most I was looking at needs large space and expensive equipment. How this guy talks about it I think I found my hobby, and it's easy enough my 8 year old can do it with me.
Chuck, I have been watching your videos on and off since I was fourteen and dreaming of making my own tack for my horses. I am now 21 and just ordered the tools and leather for my first project on a whim. I’m super excited to see where this takes me :)
incredible enthusiasm and positivity...makes me ready to face my day at work, as well as want to make some leather! thank you for such a great attitude
Especially in this time, your positivity is a breath of clean air. Very informational. So glad i found you. I am good for the next few years with all your video’s. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and taking the time to make these vlogs. 💕
I’ve been doing leather work for 5-6 years, and I really like this video. I’d word things differently though. Good tools aren’t cheap. But, they’re tremendous value. I’ve got some punches, pricking irons I think is the real name, that I’ve pounded like crazy. Still good. Still sharp. Not the cheapest but, I’ve got my money’s worth. I’ve spent a LOT of money on leather working tools. Even though I’m solidly an amateur still, I’ve made dozens of projects. The tools I regret were the cheap ones I had to replace. I like oil tanned leather, as I don’t like dealing with dyes. Personal preference there. I’ve burned through many of those green cutting/punching pads. They don’t last well for me. My kitchen table bears witness. This week, I added another hundred stitching cuts to the table top. It’s soft. At least it doesn’t damage my tools! 🤗 my wife views this differently! 🥺 I love the simple beauty of leather and stitches. Not into spots or carving or stamping very much. Just a little. Leatherwork is awesome for having options no matter your style. Anyone considering it as a hobby, I say jump in. Make some pouches, belts, bags. I just made a 12”x7” (finished dimensions) fold over zipper bag with a 1.5” gusset. Not perfect but the best stitching I’ve done to date. Leather work is learned in a day but takes a lifetime to master. Another thing I love. Thanks for the encouraging video!
Chuck, you make this stuff look so dag gum simple. I tried your sewing technique and floundered...for a minute. With a few minutes of practice though, I was on my way. Thank you sir, you are quite the instructor...Kudos.
Had been looking for good leathercraft tutorials for awhile and just ran across these. Man this guy is great happened to watch a mystery braid video of somebody else before and then watched his. The difference is vast between the two videos, I am now not just lightly thinking about starting to learn I am shopping around for the tools and anticipate getting started on making items for friends and family as soon as I can. Look forward to watching and learning as much as I can from you.
This guy seems like a happy, retired, military officer. Don't know if I'm right, but as a contractor, I have met a few.. and they all are like this guy... Full of energy, positive energy and a joy to be around...also, sharp witted. Am I right sir?
I always been in awe of detailed leather work, it's so nice and beautiful. After watching this introduction and a lot of your tutorials, I have found enough courage to work with leather myself. It's absolutely amazing!
I have been doing leather work, making custom bags and the like, for nearly 10 years but it has always been chrome tans; however, my experience with veg tans is minimal, and I learned a lot from this video. Thanks for sharing and I really enjoy your videos! keep it up!!
I've watched other leatherworking videos but this these are by far the best, most informative and easy to follow videos. Chuck makes me excited to create!
Hi Chuck, your love for the craft shines through the videos. Just watched the leather stitching and this one. Great videos, but may i suggest some close ups of the finishing, as they are not visible from that camera angle. Regards from UK
Mr YOU have made the greatest product video I have ever seen! Congratulations!! You have informed me and got me excited about leather working 1st because you did such a good job And I appreciate it so much I plan on buying ONLY from you 2nd I know your into leather, BUT you could sell ice to an Eskimo because your genuine!
When he says “ again I’m Rollin” didn’t bother me one bit, I enjoy seeing another person get excited talking about something they enjoy doing, now-a-days I don’t see much passion or drive from people I know or run into, so glad I chose working with leather as my next topic I chose to learn and hobby to pick up I’m about to have late nights learning enjoying and teaching this craft in my garage. Haven’t felt this motivated and excited about something since I picked up woodworking 💪🏻 Love being a man lol
It's nice to show people your Technique and have all of the right tools witch I have thousands of dollars worth of tools but get to the basics and stop the BS and that's what Weaver does get to the point and show the product and watch it while it's being done that's what a lot of people need and this is great. I've been doing this for 40-plus years and it's nice to have somebody showing everyone how to do videos. He likes to pet his self on the back quite often but he does a remarkable job at the same time. Believe me it doesn't come without mistakes on occasion as well but when you're very experienced you learn to not make mistakes because that sometimes is costly and time-consuming.
That's it now got the bug for making leather stuff, wife thinks I'm mad and already made simple projects like sleeves for Fishing licences , a belt, a Phone wallet and now doing my first wet formed bushcraft pouch. Great tips from Weaver Leathercraft, love the enthusiasm is rubs off, now got a friend interested in it. Great videos keep them up. Regards from the UK.
I found this video to be very helpful for a beginner trying to absorb as much info as possible. Really good info. He delved into a bit on each thing I really wanted to know. Leather thicknesses, rivets, ect. Good vid.
Chuck you are the man! I love you can do attitude! I have been looking a specialized leather bag. Everywhere I look I find them but they are so costly, poorly made, have bad hardware etc... Some of them are well made but cost upwards of $300!!! And you have convinced me that this is a very worthwhile idea.
I’ve been looking for a fun quiet Hobbie that I can do from an apartment. Very happy I found this video, I really want to give leather working a try. Doesn’t seem like it makes too much noise
Omg, what an amazing video! You answered so many questions I had and then some. Love the excitement and passion, it’s contagious. Thank you for this gift, sir!
Do you think you could do a video, or multiple videos, teaching us to measure something the leather price is being made for? I enjoyed how simply you explain how to make the leather bracers, and the axe mask for your hatchet.
You’re videos make it fun to play with leather. The creative possibilities are endless with leather. Thank you for these videos and I look forward to learning more from you.
Great video Chuck. Best ive seen for overall leather beginners.. Maybe on one you could break down the steps in order. For example, Step 1 make pattern 2 cut leather 3 stamp tool 4 dye paint 5 assemble. Something like that lol Thanks again and please keep the videos coming
Thank you for this video. I'm just thinking of possibly trying out leatherworking, to go with my beadworking.. I'm still in research mode.. This is the info I was looking for. .Thanks again

This mans enthusiasm for his craft alone makes me want to try leatherworking, which is why im watching this video XD
Saw him at Dragon Con this year...it's all true in real life... I am starting leather crafting because of Chuck

His enthusiasm is contagious, fersure. He's really high energy!
Right~? It's infectious~ :D
For some reason it puts me off
