Just another way of enjoying your music... I know there isn't a real practical reason to have your music any other way than on some kind of SSD, but i have lot's of music on cd, vinyl and minidisc.
A 30 year old truck, no matter how it's been kept, is probably going to need fuel tanks. If they are full of rust, they are probably full of pinholes and the rust is all that's keeping them from leaking. 22 year old tires, as we found out, don't hold up too well. I use the three year rule on modern batteries. If the battery is more than three years old, it can go bad at any time and it will be surprising how quickly it goes bad. I've had several quality replacement batteries do this to me in recent years while I had an OEM battery that lasted 11 years, but it was made in the nineties. I wish that I had faith in the new ones.
Why not? Thirty years is a lot of condensation getting under the fuel. If there is rust, where did it come from? Sheet metal gas tanks will pinhole very easily once they start to rust. This truck is old enough that that the fuel tank is not sealed and moisture can get in through the vent. I hope that we find out what was in the fuel tanks once they are dropped.
Bill Giles good point and every thing u say is true! I bought a 1979 ford f100 custom cab short bed for 2500$ and it was sitting for 5 years, engine is like new it's a original 302 and I have no problems with the engine but the problem is the tank. This thing left me every were because of all that shit that was in the tank so I would recommend to buy a new tank before u hit the road in something that was sitting for ever
When you buy a thirty year old truck off of Craigslist, you had better expect a lot less. Overall. I think that it's a pretty good truck and a pretty good deal.

I've been following you and Freiburger for quite a few years. You guys create the most real and entertaining car content out there. It's fun, sketchy, and amazing. I wish I got to do half of the stuff you guys have done since roadkill first came on RUclips. Keep up the good work.
thanks for watching, Mitch!
I like how you and dave can get through it together so im pleased he's staying.
This stuff is more like the original Roadkill than, well, Roadkill is now.
Those of you who have been watching the show since day one know what I mean.
How can anyone down vote this?
If Mike and Company were my neighbors, I'd be right in there with them helping
and hanging out.
So would you.
moparedtn I don’t think they want the help.... tbh
Disliked because you questioned it
Exactly what i said lol
I'd bring the untaxed mexican beer and the fireworks. Does anyone on Roadkill know how to use a match?
Fuck that skroadkill show the fucking dick takes a 69 Boss Mustang 302 blows the numbers matching motor on it by doing donuts before you get it home? I have absolutely no respect for motherfukers that don't respect cars make them hoof it
WHAT A beautiful TRUCK.
Just needs TIRES, battery, 2 fuel tanks, fuel pumps. BUT YOU GIFTED, CASSETTE TAPES.
Make more of these videos please Mike. You dont need roadkill or David F (sorry to say). These two ramptruck episodes were 100% what we want to watch on youtube.
Can't believe you made it to the pump!!! That's crazy!!
I'm really surprised the seller even answered the phone once you pulled out of the parking lot.
Mike had his plate. And the plate wasnt even on the correct vehicle. He was just trying to make sure it didnt come back on him or thought about all this being filmed and put on youtube.
Seems like the seller went above and beyond. Any vehicle that old with that little milage is going to have some issues and fuel tank issues are usually top of the list
@@aronsingletary where the seller went wrong was his add. He guaranteed you could drive it accross country😂 give taillight warranty
I guess, I thought the phrase buyer beware was coined for a reason. I purchased a mint condition convertible Mustang and discovered I could not run my headlights and windshield wipers at the same time. I held no animosity towards the seller as the vehicle was twenty five years old.
@@aronsingletary I agree I've bought and sold over 60 cars. Never went back to a seller but 1 time. Guy guaranteed no problems with the 4 runner and engine seized next day. He told me to go F myself! I only tell buyers my experiences with the vehicle and no guarantees once you drive off. Covers my ass.
Always an adventure with Finnegan. Love the content, sorry about what happened on the drive back. Shady seller for sure.
Let's look at the positive. You now have a new gas caddy.
yeppers w/ frozen cohonaa's ( ball's ) !!!! & more $$ to get it all going again....... what a trip..... i am betting the former owner pulls the tag off of it at the hotel ( since he is following u there...).......lol,lol..... or did u make it all the way home w/the tag.....???
I just bought my 3rd square body. no rust, straight as an arrow good truck. exactly like u said the tanks rotted for sitting for 10 years
@@TheWhatman21 I'm looking at my third too and the tank will need to be changed. One of the first things I did was change the tanks on my other two. I'm trying to stop at three but a 4th will more than likely be coming.
Engine overhaul 😎 for the heck of it and machine shop for the heads 👨🔧🔧 I like the truck it looks unique and it's a classic truck 🚚
That truck weighs a ton. Itd be smarter and cooler to throw the cummins from the OG ramp truck into this and then rebuild this engine for the smaller truck
Now that's a road trip. Great truck man, soo badass
The seller probably filled the carb with fuel before you picked it up lol
@Clams McGee Do you? I have a 87 GN.
I wish I had a turbo buick! I had a supercharged regal a few years back. I love the logo.
I’ve never wanted to see someone buy extra gas cans more in my life. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
I was literally saying it out loud from the first gas stop until the end of this episode. Holy s....
You can never have too many jerry cans
Finnegan you always have my support! if you're ever around Indiana again me and my buds will do whatever it takes to help you, I'm sorry you had to deal with someone who felt the brake light warranty was best. I love what you and Dave have done for the motorsport community, you guys inspire me every day to keep my old dodge truck a goin.
Thanks for posting this on RUclips man! I like this a lot!

Got to love you guys first truck was saying how truck was not good and not mint and then the truck is like brand new lol you guys made my day 😆😂🤣
You scored on the cassettes!
jeremy jensen. I'm a dinosaur I still use casette tapes!!!
Holy cow! You were in my neck of my woods! That tower in Richmond is Keen tower on Eastern Kentucky University's campus.
Go Colonels!!
This is what roadkill should be like! This is more of a roadkill than newest episodes of roadkill itself and i love it
Hey Mike. I never comment but I've followed you since roadkill.
First off, I have high respect for the calm you kept during all of this. You are the bigger man.
2nd, I want to build a vette cart like roadkill did but I want to use a 01 or 02. And I want some old k10 with a enclosed 5th wheel trailer to haul it my goal is to do a mid 7's quarter mile.
I'll never have as many toys as you, but I hope I can have as much fun as you doing it.
Keep it up man. Please keep making videos. We all love it
thanks douglas! Sounds like fun plan you have. good luck with it.
Douglas Plum, you want to see what it takes to go mid 7’s in a vette cart? Go check out Cletus McFarland’s RUclips channel. He’s already there. And it’s an awesome channel!!
If it was me I would have gotten a couple of five gallon gas cans to go along with the boat tank.
I was shocked they diddnt do that..
This has been a crazy adventure. I’m so glad I’m watching it all.
Best part of Monday. Great job Finn keep it up!
I'm watching a full ad. Love you man, you're welcome.
thank you!
I’m exhausted after watching that. I can’t wait to see more of the truck.
Great Vid! Glad you had at least 3 gears. Just paint D-bag under the name on the side of the truck until you get a real paint job.
Does this kinda bring back memories of the tire blow out in the gremmie?
this wasn't nearly as scary.
PTGD post dramatic gremlin disorder... be careful with his flashbacks
Can't tell you how many times I've been right there, leaning forward hoping it would make some difference. One good thing is your "gas tank" is removable and even has wheels.
I wanted you to punch the dude when he asked for the plate back. Disappointed you didn’t.
But really happy you got on his ass! Lol
did you notice the guy slammed the truck door after finnegan said he was joking about coming and getting the plate
Heero yuy yeah dude. I would have been pissed. Lol definitely would have gotten out and had a talk with the dude.

Actually cassettes are making a little bit of a comeback. Some artists are putting out music on them.
I got cassettes from Down, Municipal Waste, and Anthrax, all albums are from 2007 or newer. Lol works for me, my 02 DeVille has a working cassette player!
That's retarded. By most measures cassette tapes are worse than reel to reel's and CD's.
@@erikkovacs3097 Never underestimate the market for nostalgia.
Just another way of enjoying your music...
I know there isn't a real practical reason to have your music any other way than on some kind of SSD, but i have lot's of music on cd, vinyl and minidisc.
Making it to that pump was boss level!
Tires and fuel system flush. not bad for a truck that has been sitting for the last 20 years. At least they came out to help.
I don't agree on the point about the gas tanks.
Bill Giles when you buy a $20,000 truck you expect more
When you buy a thirty year old truck off of Craigslist, you had better expect a lot less. Overall. I think that it's a pretty good truck and a pretty good deal.
Watch your show all the time love em I'm from back east in Connecticut now living in Kentucky ya lots of things are legal here if you don't get caught and never get anything from Ohio keep up the good work boy's
In Norway almost nobody would ever help you like that if you bought a vehicle off of them. The police would force you to have it towed and the hotel would be full.
Makes for good TV though. Proper roadkill (which killed itself with the pay solution)
You can watch Roadkill for free on Motortrend. Roadkill is far from dead.
@@the11thnickel thank you, I know. Ok not dead, stagnated by choice then. The rest of RUclips is closing the gap and lesser people bother going off the platform to find roadkill.
@@merqury5 Roadkill is on TV now.....Many more people see it.
🤔 Remind me to never visit Norway.
@@jreyman Stay out of the major cities and u'll be fine. Plenty of helpfull good people on the outskirts.
