We haven't exchanged Christmas gifts for more than 10 years. (Reduces stress greatly). My grandchildren are adults and we all focus on the social aspect and getting together and making food. I do make fresh floral arrangements or wreaths to give to friends and family. I forage a lot of wild plants and dry various things like white hydrangeas to use.
I wanted to give everyone $20. A brother and his children would get $80 from us and we would get $40. Win-win, right? It shows how much a burden young people have with relatives or with older people who have children. It also shows how much money passes hands and how unfair some of the gift giving could become. My grandmother gave her grandchildren each $1 at Christmas. She had 19 grandchildren and lived off Social Security. If you have Money for Christmas, you can do things together after Christmas as a family.
Linda I had to get the boot supports… amazing! So much better than the cut up pool noodles shoved inside. Thanks for the recommendation!! Solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I shop in the post-Christmas and end of financial year sales, buy really quality products/gifts at hugely discounted prices (as well as the wrapping paper being on sale too!). I buy everyone's Christmas and Birthday gifts at these sales, wrap them, label them and put them up in the closet in the spare room - ready for Christmas and birthdays the whole year. No stress, no last minute expensive, impulsive pressure buys - and I really enjoy my day of wrapping and making them look pretty, with no pressure! I've been doing this for 20 years now, and I thoroughly recommend it.
My mother in law gave me an electric egg cooker 30 years ago. I absolutely love them. I’m on my 4th one. I also added one that cooks 12 eggs, so one does 7 and one 12. I can do 5 dozen eggs for deviled eggs so fast. I’m often asked to bring them.
The oil sprayer would be great for spraying your fish or veggies for the air fryer. I bought two regular glass sprayers, one for olive oil and one for avacado oil...they worked for about a minute...they are destined for the Goodwill. Great tips Linda.
Yes. I am always finished before Thanksgiving. I put a lot of thought into each gift and shop very intentionally. I love the Christmas season and want all joy, no stress.
I have begun my shopping! As you are doing, I’m paying attention and taking advantage of ideas as I they come to me. Safe travels. Can’t wait to hear about all your adventures when return.
I love these types of videos and I will definitely give some of these items a try; thanks for the recommendations. I hope you’re enjoying your trip and it will be fun to see your first video once you get back. Hi to Stewart😀
For anyone who already has an instant pot, it makes the world's easiest boiled eggs. Bonus is that the eggs peel perfectly, too. Use the 5-5-5 method. 1 cup water, set IP to 5 minutes pressure, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes, then in an ice bath for 5 minutes to cool. Perfect boiled eggs and you don't need anything else. P.S. love the earrings and bracelets.
Christmas is all homemade in our house. I am canning jams (carrot cake jam, fig, peach and pear) thrift shopping for fun containers to put the jars in with a big bow.
I gather the whole year round christmasgifts in a box . In December I only add small final touches and wrap it in paper. That makes life easier and you really have a relax pre Christmas period. Avoid the stress.
Yes I've started Christmas gift shopping, first gift was free, wine glass charms from my niece, she designed them, passing these along to my future daughter-in-law!
We all agreed last year we would not exchange Christmas gifts & was that ever great! Some family members just don’t have the financial means & some have everything they need or want so we just enjoyed the food & getting together. (Kids & grandkids are all grown) We may do the same this year.
Love all the suggestions and will buy them as soon as I move. No point packing another thing. I did buy the packing cubes since I hate rummaging around in my suitcase. Thank you for the tip.
So excited to see you posting! I follow you everywhere. Lol Yes, I am starting to think about Christmas. Ok, will watch the rest of the video. ❤️ Oh, that boot thing... I use cut-down pool noodles.
@@tobywinter1 I get avocado oil at my local International grocery (Indian/Chinese/Middle Eastern goods) - their oils and many other staples like rice and beans are WAY less than a standard grocery! And it’s fun to walk the aisles finding new snacks, spices and such too.
Hi! Yes I am thinking about Christmas. By the way, I use the cardboard tube in wrapping paper and paper towel rolls to keep my boots upright. That works great! As do pool noodles cut down to size. Hoping the wedding and trip was great!!
The open ring at the top of the boot support makes me wonder if they’re are supposed to be hung on a hook? Would that work or would the boots slide off?
Tall boot hack: empty paper towel cardboard tube in each and a chip clip up top to hold the tops together. Can't live without my egg cooker. Got mine on QVC. Appreciate the info on the oil mister as they all normally clog - even from williams Sonoma. joico also makes a great purple shampoo for gray and blonde hair!
hmmm, I use Neutrogena Sesame oil as a moisturizer in the summer, I am wondering if the oil spritzer would work with that! Might be worth a try! Enjoy Singapore!

Pool noodles, cut to fit the boot, works great too!
Thanks for the great idea
That's what I do! Get them at the dollar store.
That’s what I have used for years and just cut to size of the boot.
🙏🙏
Love this!
That Luster Lock is AMAZING! I love a lot of the Luster Lock line...they are a staple in my arsenal of hair products!

Hi, Stewart! Thanks for keeping us from going into withdrawal while Linda is gone!

Hi Linda, I got my egg cooker the last time you talked about it. Absolutely love it!
Me too!
Linda, you should Try avocado oil when cooking rather than evoo. Read about it. I just recently changed. Still use oil oil for cold dishes.
I will!
It is pretty pricey though.

love the egg cooker I got mine from my daughter for Christmas a few years ago.
Linda, I use styrofoam floaties from the dollar store for boot support.
Love your outfit of the day! Hi, Stewart!!!

I actually started in January!! After Christmas sales can be very good!

I love your I watch band! Will you please share where you purchased it? Thanks, Bren

@@LindaVater Thank you very much!
I love watching your videos!!!! Zone 7a SE Missouri, you talked about begonia transplants and I was curious how you rooted them??
Good afternoon Linda. Another excellent video. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend. Don't forget to take some time for yourself.

Oh I love that stuff too!
I have that egg cooker and use it all the time!! Perfect timing- I need a new clothing steamer!
How does the hair conditioner work? Do you put it on your hair while it’s wet and leave it on?
Put on while wet, leave for a while, then rinse.
@@LindaVater Gotcha! Thanks!
I love these kind of videos you do! You are divine!!♥️
I recently learned avocado oil is best for me.
just now put a few things in my Amazon cart--for Christmas--
Enjoyed the video today 🙂
Purchased the garden gloves,am very disappointed, they still get my nails dirty and are not waterproof 😩
What great products...I would have never thought of some of them for gifts. Thank you Linda! Hope you're enjoying your trip!
Thank you…..getting 3 out of 6🙂
The insta pot cooks hard boiled eggs perfectly.
Love my egg maker.
Amazon n has a few like this in a glass container.
Yes I have already started. See neat stuff everyday.
Hi Linda, I always start early. With availability these days when you see it, if you want the item, buy it!!🎁🎁🎁🎁
Linda would you be willing to do some of your wonderful recipes with us?🥰
My mouth started watering when you were talking about your roasted vegetables 🥕🤤
I use a steamer all the time, I have one for sale if anyone is interested
$1 dollar store POOL-NOODLE for boots
Yep, pool noodles.
When I checked the shorts out on Amazon, they were listed as 100% polyester. Rats.
Wait…Stuart is not your husband???
Nope! My photographer!
Seriously ?
Yes😊
Linda, why not get a glass bottle with a spray nozzle rather than have your olive oil absorb and leech that potentially carcinogenic plastic? 🙏 🫒 💐
I have tried many of them. Glass and metal and they simply don’t work
